WOW!!!! We are so HAPPY we chose Bracho! We had a couple of slabs of complicated "river-like" artistic granite, so matching the full backsplash and fancy edging was no easy task. Our Island and counter top turned out so fabulous. As soon as I figure out how to upload the pictures of our new kitchen, you will be able to take a look at the craftsmanship. After getting estimates and searching for quality work to be done on our kitchen granite, I gave Bracho a call. I'm so glad I did! Not only did they do a fantastic job, but Henry saved us close to $3k over the other contractors. That made me happy because we needed to cut some cost, but I still wanted great quality. Henry is a genius when it comes to matching the granite design. I would never have been able to visualize this as well as he. Its a worrisome deal when you pay so much for beautiful granite slabs and then have it cut and you know it needs to be done right the 1st time. Well, Henry is your man for this! He has so much experience with designs that for him, it is easy to help you choose good pattern matches and flows. He also understands why it can be sort-of stressful to decide on the cut (for the home owner) AND he works with you to figure it out for yourself. Although, I have to say, he knew the correct way to cut the pieces all along. It just took me a while to understand how the matching up of the flow would ultimately end up. After they templated the countertops and came back with the fabricated granite, they installed it to perfection. There was one small 4" backsplash (we had full backsplash on the rest) that we asked if they minded redoing as a 6" from another part of the remaining granite. We decided we preferred a 6" backsplash and found a piece that would match really well. Henry accommodated the request with no problem whatsoever. His main focus was that he wanted US to be happy with the end results. So, we removed the 4" splash (it had only been on the wall for a handful of hours so the bonding cement had not fully dried) without any problems. The next day they came back and picked up the granite piece with the template I had made and prefabricated and installed the new 6" splash without any additional charges. Also, they did not charge us for a special drill bit they had to buy in order to create a 3/8" hole for the fibre optic remote controller garbage disposal switch we got for the new sink area (by the way, the remote switch is super low profile and is definitely the way to go as far as helping to unclutter the sink spout area and is far nicer than the stupid switch we had on the wall, here's where I discovered this option on amazon in case your interested: http://www.amazon.com/Waste-King-FRC-4016-Fiber-Controller/dp/B002B38KM4/ref=pd_bxgy_hi_text_b) I've rambled on long enough! Henry is an artist. His ability to visualize and execute that vision is astounding. His team is highly professional and they do stunning work. I brought him our plans and he figured exactly how much stone we needed, talked us through the process of selecting our stone and gave us a competitive bid for the installation. Once we found our stone from another source, he got us a huge discount and passed that savings to us. During the installation, there was an issue with one of the cabinets. Henry is a problem solver, he offered two work around solutions that wouldn't delay the project (sending the cabinet back to be rebuilt to spec would have cost 6-8 weeks) and lates out my options to proceed. The short story is that I highly recommend Bracho Marble and Granite. The more detailed story is below... My husband and I had been planning our kitchen remodel for many months before we got started, and had visited at least 10-15 granite suppliers and installers that had all left us feeling confused and untrusting. Then we (thankfully) found Henry at Bracho Marble. Honest and fair. In one day Henry turned what had previously been a frustrating and overwhelming process into a few simple steps. He also helped us find our stone at a much lower price than we had found anywhere previously, and probably could have saved us a few months worth of searching if only we had found him first. Once we had purchased our slabs, he coordinated with the supplier to get them to his shop, and from that point on Henry and his crew made the rest of the process continue just as smoothly. Every step, from measuring our new kitchen cabinets and making the templates for the slabs, to our visits to the shop to see the layout, to the final installation of our new counters, was made convenient for us and was done professionally and on schedule. We were also very pleasantly surprised to find his cost was quite reasonable. Better than most we had seen before. The final result, the finished product, was the icing on the cake. They did a fantastic job, and we couldn't be happier with their work and with our beautiful counters. In my opinion, two of the best compliments you can give a contractor is to say you would use them again, and that you would recommend them to your family and friends. Actually I wish i could choose 0 stars. So I met the owner of this company, Henry Lopez, through my general contractor. The moment he entered the house, he started to blame what the sink was not put on yet and he usually charge $380 for a trip for template. As a home owner, I had no idea what the procedure should be and apparently my GC had no idea either. He is too inexperienced and too timid to talk back to this Henry, who worked closely with his uncle or father before. He then said how often he worked on projects of multimillion houses, non-stopper talker and didn't want to listen to anyone to finish. I trusted his experience and thought I could respect him as he is much senior to us. He said he doesn't give a shit to any designs. He talked me into buying 3 slabs so that we could do book match for my waterfall island and kitchen countertop and backsplash. It's a 10k plus project including materials and labor. I did get good discounts through him which made me feel i owe him. So however he stopped me and my designer when we are talking, hanging up our phones call etc., I tolerated him. We even drove to his place in Newark to do the template. He did install very soon. However, the results are: 1) I got a 38" wide island instead of 36" which made it very difficult to find a good dining table to match (original plan is putting a 36x60 dining table right next to the island, with a 38" i could only get 72" above dining tables yet i don't have that space); 2) there is barely any book match; 3) the 4 corners of my island are all of different height; 4) the middle of my island is lower than the two sides; 5) one side of the waterfall is so tight on my cabinets, one of my drawers can't close. Again, my GC was too timid to confront him. I took a video and sent to him. He told me that i should hire an engineer to raise my floor! And as usual, he started to blame complain and curse me. I have never met anyone in the service industry with such a rude, arrogant, disrespectful, and negative attitude. The worst thing is, he does NOT deliver. read more

Bracho Marble and Granite did a great job putting in a beautiful granite countertop in our small kitchen. They are a fabricator and installer only, so don't expect them to do the tear-out or to make sure the board that the granite will sit on top of is level. That should be done by a carpenter or general contractor. They do beautiful work at a great price. I'll post photos when the rest of our kitchen is completed. Wow....just called to get a quote for quartz countertops for our kitchen remodel we want to do sometime in January (about 8 weeks out). Was asked how I heard about them....said I saw their good reviews on yelp. He said they only do work "by referrals" and they are booked 8 weeks out (ummm that's january)....then he hung up on me. What is this a speakeasy?! I can only order product thru them if I know the secret passcode? Basically, if you're an average Joe or Jane do not call them unless you know the secret passcode....I can think of a few I'd like to call back with and try.... I decided to call another countertop place instead and had a much better interaction. After our kitchen remodel is done I will be reviewing all the contractors who appreciate business based off their good yelp reviews. I guess he is the owner of the company. He simply hung up the phone stating that i need to come to his office with the drawings so that he can provide the estimate. It was a long road bringing me to Bracho. We'd been ruminating about what to do with our kitchen for many years. I explored a variety of different counter top materials because I didn't want a generic looking kitchen. When we finally were settling upon stone, I looked at a lot of different types at a variety of different places. A contractor I knew suggested I go to a fabricator in Hayward, who also had a large operation in Sunnyvale. They had stone that I liked, but I became increasingly uneasy about dealing with them. I sent a scale diagram with measurements for an estimate, and I'd wait. After a week, I'd call. They really seemed to embody incensed apathy. (I still haven't heard back.) I Googled them on Google maps and read three very negative reviews which seemed to reinforce what I was experiencing (poor communication and customer service). I just couldn't risk setting myself up for that kind of abuse. I mean, you're bringing someone into your home. The goal is for them to solve a problem, not create new ones. Enter Henry. (This is the point where the sun pierces the clouds and you hear angelic voices singing.) My plumber recommended him. My painter did too. From my first call, I sensed he was a can do kind of guy. I quickly made a run to Bedrosians to pick out a slab. With one of my counters having almost a "Z" shape, I thought it would really be a challenge because the stone (Timbalata) had waves of different colors. Depending upon how the seams went, it could be a nightmarish clash. The person at Bedrosians said, "But you have Henry. There are a lot of people in this business, many of whom can proficiently install the material, but Henry is an artist." Although reassured, I still was wondering how he'd overcome the challenge of the slab I'd selected when templating. My father was a remodeling contractor, and I think I have a pretty good eye for identifying flawed work. When the countertops were delivered and installed, I was amazed, and I don't amaze easily. The counter edges are simply the best I've ever seen. As for the "Z" shaped counter, there were no seams in the corners. It was as if he'd managed to make it all in one piece. Upon close inspection, there was a tiny seam at the center of the sink, but you couldn't feel it, and it was barely discernible--really amazing if you could see the slab I selected--and he matched the colors where the sections intersected. Ok, so Henry is a miracle working artist, a veritable Michelangelo in Newark, what about the rest of his team? I'm reluctant to share this because I don't expect Henry to logistically be able to do this on a regular basis (and I don't live far from their offices), but from the time his crew arrived to remove the counters and back splash, the new counters were installed ... 49 and a half hours later! Other places had told me that it would be two weeks from the time they removed counters!!! A non-functioning kitchen takes a toll, and Henry really minimized the downtime. His crew was clean. They protected the floors and cabinets when doing the demolition, and they left it as clean as they'd found it. So, I don't know what else I can say. They're fair, efficient, and do incredibly high quality work. Call Henry. Life's too short. read more

When my friend, Lucy, said that we would be foolish to look anywhere else for granite, I'll admit I was skeptical. I could not believe that there is such a company in the world of granite people that valued fairness and pride in creating and installing granite over pure profit. But after our experience with Bracho Granite, we really found the non-existing and granite provider who valued their customer over profit. From the very being Henry purchased our granite at contractor pricing. This, alone, represented an overall savings of 40%. In one popular and large granite preparation place said their pricing could not be beat, Henry beat them by 40%. This place was going to get our order because they were really knowledgeable and highly reputed as the best in this business (including the best pricing). It is impossible for this to be true since you were that mcuh better in price, more capable of presenting a great finish (including all corners were perfectly match, all patterns matched), the edges perfectly completed and done on time. Henry responded quickly to request for granite counter top for rental house. He made an accurate template/pattern on site. In the shop the pieces were cut and finished. He also proposed using an under counter heavy gauge stainless steel sink, which he supplied at a competitive cost. Next day the counter top was installed carefully, after cutout for range top was made. The workmanship was very good, in my opinion. From first call to job completion consumed less than 24 hours! Cost was reasonable. Henry informed and educated me about various types of stone. I am completely satisfied, and expect to hire Bracho for more counter tops. Carlos was very thoughtful and helpful in orienting the templates to bring out the best in the two stone slabs, and the whole install crew (I didn't catch everyone's name but talked most often to Raul) showed up when they said they would, were efficient, and were a pleasure to work with . As others have mentioned, Henry gives you his 20% fabricator discount on the stones, which is quite significant.
