I came here as my second choice based on Yelp reviews of another place that was rated higher ( I disgree). This place is way better all around. The tech Oscar was very personable and knowledgeable and even though he was a one man show, he handled everybody in a timely and courteous manner. Very friendly. The waiting are was clean comfortable and air conditioned. Great on a 100+ degree day. I was so happy with the service that I came back with my second car the same day. I had gone to another place in Norco (Green Smog) but the tech there didn't want to crawl under my car to get the Cat EO #? Gave some b/s excuse and said he wouldn't do it. No such experience here. Fast forwarding to today, I was able to pass my smog & the man who helped me today was Robert. AA Smog Check Center 1630 E Ontario Ave #102 Corona CA 92881 On Wednesday September 7, 2022, I took my 2014 vehicle to AA Smog Check Center 1630 E Ontario Ave Corona CA 92881 as I have so many times in past. I went in the office w/paperwork to check in. The business owner came in checked out a woman's vehicle he had completed and went back into the bay to service a different woman's vehicle that was there before I arrived. While sitting there a third woman walked into the lobby and the business owner returned in the lobby and proceeded to process her paper. When I spoke up and confronted him to say I was next, the business owner total me I was not ready and continued to process in the third lady. When I further spoke up, he said he would not service me and to go elsewhere. On a prior post, I am glad the business owner pointed out this fact that there were cameras taping everything in his business. It will clearly show that I was "Rudely Ignored, Marginalized and told to leave" and the woman that came in after me was processed. In the business owner's Yelp reply to my first review of September 7, 2022, by the business owner's own admission, he saw me through the service bay window waiting. The business cameras will clearly show I stood up and said, "Excuse me, but I was next". I spoke to him briefly in the service area that I will document this encounter as a review. The business owner replied by cursing me with "I don't give a ____". Camera footage will factually support the action of that day. I have reviewed AA Smog Check Centers prior "ONE" star reviews and see where the security cameras are routinely used in the business owner's reply to negative reviews as a vailed threat to either intimidate the Yelp Reviewer to back off or in my specific case the business owner "Asked me via Yelp to remove my post". I invite the footage IF it actually exists since I have not personally viewed anything. Here is a small sampling of some to customer comments: 5/10/2022 Racquel W.(Riverside, CA) rude, told me I didn't have common sense 11/5/2021 Tim T. As a business practice, in my opinion it is an "Unprofessional and Unacceptable" to interact with a customer to use of Intimation to alter or remove one's duly created viable review. The business owner asked me in a published reply, on my initial review, to remove my review post. Upon the business owner, seeing there was NO traction in his effort to have me remove my review, he contacted his "Personal Friends or Acquaintances" and gave them my personal information to message me directly to "Give it up". Asking others to contact me is either a "Bullying" or "Intimation" move both of which are unprofessional. This practice is dangerously out of bound. Issue: Yelp Guidelines regarding Privacy How far will the business owner go to silence me of my right to confront and review his business in our community? The business owner wrote a lengthy reply, to my initial review, which consists of a mix of facts, fabrications and vailed intimidation threats demanding that I remove my post. I too was very uncomfortable and upset from being Marginalized, Threaten and Ignored for speaking up for my rights and the rights of others that live in our community. These are not simplistic situations. The reviews and business practices deserve a further "Deeper" investigation into his hostile and aggressive unprofessional business behavior which negatively impacts our local community. I appreciate all of the new meaningful friends in our community which provided feedback. The business practices in our community should reflect who we are. Star certified, which is a must if DMV requested you do a smog. I called on a weekday around noon, they said I had one person ahead of me. When I got there they were still working on the other car so I waited about 5-10 minutes for the guy to come to the counter. Yes they wear mask for those wondering. Flat fee $65 cash I think card is an extra $1.50. He was still working on the other car for another 10-15 minutes, I guess it was having problems passing, also he was the only person working. After he was done he started to work on my car, probably took about 20min? Car passed, I received my paperwork and they even send a digital copy to dmv. Overall pretty good, standard smog place. If you need star certified smog, they can do it. read more

Terrible customer service and policy. Went in an hour before close and they did fit me in between scheduled cars. Let them know i had two cars to smog and understood they would close and was thankful to get one done. Price was 40$. Waited 45 minutes and saw them finish my car. Was told I passed all tests except for car computer wasn't ready. This is a failure and would require retesting for another 28.85$. They asked me if I had any service or maintenance on the car recently - I haven't and let them know that. Apparently this can cause the issue but wasn't the case for me. Had they checked the cars computer before all testing as most smog stations will do - this could've been avoided. It takes no time or expertise at all to verify the computer is ready for smog. Pointless to run all the other testing and charge the customer as a result. I will not be retesting my car here and I will not be bringing in my other vehicle here as a result. Its a convenient location for me but I refuse to support this business with any more of my paycheck. -- EDIT -- You asked me if work was done to my car AFTER I had already gone through your testing. Not before. I asked why my car was failing to pass smog and that is why it was ever brought up. Your representative said my car's computer wasn't ready for a smog check and that is why it was failed. If it wasn't ready - then you, supposedly the professional in this situation - should've let me know that before accepting my money and then informing me I have to pay more money once the cars computer was actually ready to be tested. Slow, understaffed, incredibly frustrating. I found AA Smog Center on Yelp and decided to come by for my required smog check since it has great reviews, is deemed to be "quick" and is super local. I came in and waited 45 minutes for my turn despite there only being 2 people ahead of me. My vehicle failed due to a cracked air intake tube. Understandable. I had the part replaced and came in three days later. I waited an additional 55 minutes for my turn, again with only 2 people ahead of me. My car failed AGAIN, due to the battery being removed to replace the pipe. I had no clue the battery affects emissions/resets sensors and would have appreciated a heads up about this during my first visit. All in all, I've wasted what feels like a crazy amount of time for a smog check (this is typically a 15-20 min process in and out the door), which wasn't even successfully accomplished. I had a different guy help me out each time. They were both friendly -- but the time wasted here and the unprofessional responses the business provides to other Yelp reviewers will most likely prevent me from ever returning or recommending this establishment. read more

Wow! Fast, friendly and helpful! I was in and out in less than 20 minutes, and it would have been less than that, had I brought the correct paperwork out of my glovebox. It's not obvious at first where it's located in the strip center because there are several automotive related businesses all together. Just drive past the Jiffy Lube and car wash, and it'll be the second to the last bay on the left where it says "Smog Check Only". It cost me $45 after my $10 Yelp check-in discount. Seemed average to me coming from Texas, and I needed it done, so even if that's not a great price and I didn't know, they did what I needed and Im a happy camper. Won't check to see if the computer will let it pass smog before I pay. I read your responses to the bad reviews and it is stated to let the tech know and he can hook it up to see if it will before paying. Maybe I read it wrong. More than once. So I bring it in here and ask the tech and I was told to drive it around 100 miles. Been trying to get it smogged for 7 months. I am an ASE certified mechanic. Every car has different drive cycles you can't just drive a car around 100 miles. Every car is different. If I did that I would be paying for a retest every 100 miles. And no I won't remove this review. It's deserved. Do a good service and don't charge for every 10 minute thing you do and people like me would come back. This was my first experience with AA Smog Center, bringing in my mom's low mileage 15 year old Cube. Her renewal notice required the services of a Star Station, which doesn't seem to be prevalent in the Corona area. After reading most of the harsh critiques of this place, I was curious to see if things were as bad as these grumpy people claimed. I came in on a Monday at 2 PM, with only one person in front of me getting his paperwork wrapped up. At the counter, Robert appeared to be doing everything by himself, but this wasn't a problem because this affable and efficient tech was readily handling the counter and the testing. I mentioned to him that fairly recently I had a new battery installed and asked for a courtesy check of her car's computer to be sure its OBD (on-board diagnostic) system was finished "monitoring" - a couple of reviews clued me into this problem by complaining about their cars failing because: "The computer wasn't ready." So Robert escorted me into the parking lot, hooked up a hand held tester to her Cube and in no time gave me the go-ahead. You'd think that the state wouldn't charge these shops until the OBD was all set to be tested! He then proceeded to do the smog test in less time than it took me afterwards, at the grocery store, standing in the 10 items or less line. Just as I figured, her car passed with flying colors. And so along with their site's simple $10 discount coupon, this was one of my best reasonably priced smog checks. It certainly was the quickest, and Robert went out of his way to insure me a successful test. Note: You can save another $1.50 by paying in cash. read more
