Had a backup of my septic late Friday evening which is a very unpleasant situation. On Saturday…read moremorning I called the company that I use to pump the septic and they told me they couldn't help (thanks for nothing Lakeland). Saw the good reviews for John Matthes so my wife made the call and spoke with Lisa who was great. She said not to worry, she would find a way to get someone out to help us that day. Joe showed up a few hours later and was clearly a bigger job than he expected but he knocked it out of the park. He also told me it looked like it wasn't pumped correctly the last time which was pretty disappointing to hear. As a side note Joe was driving one of the nicest septic trucks I have seen. Think it goes to show that these guys take good care of their equipment. All in all a great experience. Thanks Lisa for finding a way to squeeze us in and thanks Joe for taking care of business. John Matthes is definitely the company I will use for anything septic related going forward. No brainer, give them a try and see if you can trust the guys you are using today!

I thought that I was looking at a $20,000 fix. Due to other commitments, I also had a small window during which time I could have them help me. The receptionist was wonderful on the telephone. She said that she would reschedule some routine appointments to accommodate me and she did. The technician who came out was very knowledgeable, very pleasant and was able to clean out my tank by refilling it twice with the used water in order to remove the heavy sludge. He also helped me to figure out how to clear the lines to my gray water tank without me having to open it up. The whole experience was so much easier than I feared. I am very grateful and highly recommend these people!

The office even called back letting me know the technician would be coming earlier than expected and asked if I would be available. Finally, a company that appreciates my time too!!! Drew, the technician, was very courteous as he explained what needed to be done. He was able to start work immediately and, once completed, Drew showed me what he did. In addition to the excellent service, I love this company for their professionalism and friendliness. All Clear Plumbing and Drains is my go to plumbing company now!

They quoted me 1600 dollars... that was only to remove the old sump (pumps, plural) and replace it with a new one. I wasnt sure if the electrical was to blame or the sump pump so I just contracted with them...thinking they will take care of it. They originally said how it would take probably 8 hours. The day the gentleman showed up to do the work, he was timely and polite. Everything started out great. But then he was done in about 2 hours... (????) so i figured, no problem, at least I wont have to worry about it again... (queue up the foreshadowing...as this was NOT the last time I would have to deal with it). Within a month or 2 I went down to the basement/crawlspace area to add salt to the water softener, and sure enough, there was standing water...(What the heck??) So I called All Clear.... They promptly showed up.. it was even the same guy! He stuck his hand in the mucky/murky water and stirred it around and got it working again.. and told me ..."anytime this happens you can just do this" (UHHH NO THANK YOU SIR, I WILL NOT BE STICKING MY HAND IN GROSS WATER TO FEEL FOR SOMETHING TO TRIGGER THE SUMP PUMP) I told him im not sticking my hand in that so ...what do i just ...poke it with a stick? He said, yeah just do that. So I ultimately paid 1600 dollars for a sump pump replacement that took 2 hours that I have to go and poke with a stick on occasion. How do I feel about this..? Not good, to be honest. I have never paid that much per hour for plumbing work..(well, honestly I paid less for plumbing work from another company that just ended up getting ripped out and to have them text and threaten me)... so I guess at least the plumbing work stayed put and works...90% of the time... but I cannot say it was a good value. I kind of figured that for that amount of money (per hour) I would have gotten a better, more lasting outcome.

Did they answer the phones? Yes. Did they explain their "emergency fee"? Yes. Did they commit to an emergency service? Yes. Did they renig? YES. We were told to expect a call the following morning after 8 to confirm a time window for the service to be done. Did they call? NO. Did they TEXT? No. We had to call them. We explained the challenges with our dirt road in the mountains and wanted to be contacted when the service person was on the way. We were told the window would be between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. We were not contacted. We called again to see where the service person was. Oh, they had to go home because they were exceeding their DOT allotted time on the road. How about rescheduling? Since we had the repair scheduled for Thursday morning first thing, we accepted the reschedule, let them know we had the repair scheduled, reiterated that this was urgent and a snow event was expected starting the following morning (today, Wednesday) and that our road was tricky so it would be better to try this earlier rather than later. Ok. Expect a call or a text after 8 to confirm the time window. Again, no call or text. At 10 I called and was told it would be between 10 and 1:45. I reiterated the sooner the better because of the snow. I called again after 1:45 and was told the serviceman was on his way. Around 3 we called again. Oh, the serviceman hit bad weather and had to go home, let's reschedule, shall we? Well no, that doesnot work for us, we have an early appointment for the pump replacement tomorrow morning. We told you the snow was coming. Why did you not schedule for early in the day? No explanation. Just asking over and over if we want to reschedule. Thought we were being unreasonable because the service person's wellness was at risk. Cancelled the service. We are going to be inconvenienced - again - so why go with a company that does not listen and does not show up? As a Realtor, I will NEVER refer a client or anyone else to ANY of these companies that are affiliated with Earthcare or Wind River Environmental. They are CRAP as far as I am concerned.

I recently had my septic tank serviced by this company, and while the service itself was completed,…read moreI was disappointed by what happened afterward. When the technician left, the septic tank lids had not been properly secured. The screws were left sitting in the lids instead of being fastened, leaving the covers unsecured. As someone with children at home, I immediately recognized this as a serious safety hazard. I called the company as soon as I noticed the issue to make them aware. I explained that I had kids in the house and that the unsecured lids posed an immediate risk. The company had no problem promptly charging for the service, but when I called to report a serious safety issue they had created, I was told no one was available and that it would have to wait until the following morning. I found that response disappointing, especially considering the potential risk. Mistakes happen, and I understand that. What I have a harder time accepting is the lack of urgency when a customer reports a potentially dangerous situation. An unsecured septic tank isn't a minor inconvenience--it's a significant safety hazard, particularly for families with children. I hope the company uses this as an opportunity to improve both its safety procedures and its customer service. A business should stand behind its work and respond promptly when a safety issue is brought to its attention.
