AVOID AAA INSURANCE. MY EXPERIENCE WITH AAA AUTO INSURANCE AFTER 20+ YEARS OF BEING INSURED BY THEM. I had never made a claim with AAA yet recently after leaving my car lights on the car would not start. Since I Pay AAA Insurance for Road Side Assistance, I contacted them. Road Side assistance did show up with a van full of batteries to sell. I explained that my car only needed a jump start. The tech proceeded to tell me all the reasons why I should replace my battery. After much to do he brought out his battery booster kit for jump starting cars. It did not start the car and he said it was because my battery had been drained of too much power. Because I was not going to purchase a new battery, HE LEFT. Yes AAA rode side service left me stranded. I called a friend and without a problem we jump started my car. Four months later that same battery continues to start my car every day. Afterwards trying to deal with AAA regarding this situation was always the same "I'm sorry this should not of happened. Please call back and ask for xxxx department for assistance." After hours on the phone with AAA I was told that the tech followed company procedures. AAA was ok that I was left stranded since I didn't want to buy a unnecessary new battery from them. Imagine how AAA would handle a claim if my home had a fire or my car was in an accident. I don't need to find out, I already know how AAA handles claims. There are plenty of other companies that sell reputable insurance. read more

Needed Roadside assistance last night at 7pm on I355 and North Avenue. 2 1/2 hours later they said, sorry. No service is available!!! Find your own tow truck. Why am I paying for this? Terrible Company!!! read more

Update: several years later, went back to AAA after Allstate was a disaster. Great prices on home/auto/umbrella/life insurance bundle. Will update if I need to make a claim, but I'm revising my review up quite a bit. read more

In every case she has provided outstanding assistance in terms of both price and her knowledge of the arrangements required. Recently, on her own initiative, she came up with a cruise booking for us that was far superior to what the cruise line had set up -- better stateroom in a much better location, at a lower fare, plus various amenities. We are grateful to Barbara and would recommend her without reservation. She is a genuine travel professional. read more

I recently attempted to work with: Barbara Jaworowski Travel Agent AAA Arlington Heights 1840 S Arlington Heights Rd. Arlington Heights, IL 60005 My boyfriend and I were trying to use her travel services to book a trip to Ireland. While AAA has good reviews, and this person in particular was recommended to us, we were sorely disappointed in her lack of professionalism. Not only were the email correspondences we received in very poor grammar and often hard to comprehend, they were often rude as well. When I requested a few changes to the itinerary I was told that "her services were not free" and basically stated that since I was asking for cheaper hotels I was wasting her time. Now, I was never asked for a down deposit or any payment. If this was her problem, then it should have been asked for up front. When I finally decided to book through another agency that family recommended, this is the response I received: "Why you have not talk first with your relatives ? You wasted my time. Good luck." I would suggest that for a travel agent, no one work with her. She does not like changing the itinerary and becomes aggravated when you ask for changes. read more

We just moved from southern California to the Chicago area and had to switch our insurance over. Joe Ziaj at AAA Arlington Heights made the transition smooth and painless. Since IL and CA have different coverage requirements, Joe explained everything to us clearly and didn't try to upsell or pressure us into anything. The rates he quoted us were very reasonable and he was very professional and courteous. Definitely recommend him and this location if you're in the area. read more

As a first time homeowner, we were relying heavily On Joe Ziaj to be our expert on recommendations and understanding both our appraisal and home layout, all information required for Joe and AAA to provide us our home insurance policy. It was painfully evident, that not only was our information not properly reviewed, but Joe did not make one phone call to us to review our new policy and let us know what was included/excluded. Due to this, within 9 months of owning our house, the basement flooded. Our sump pump failed, along with the battery backup, so roughly 2 ft. of water filled our crawl space, flooding into our lower level. We immediately put a claim into AAA, who informed us that we did not have coverage. I was beyond shocked so we tried calling Joe. We were told he was unavailable until the later afternoon so this caused even more concern as we were scrambling to stop more water coming in. As we looked closely, it turns out we never had the coverage for water backup. I'm sure you could imagine our frustration seeing this as we expected our insurance agent to at a minimum, tell us we were not going to have this coverage. Joe did finally get back to us around 530 PM, so well into the day of dealing with the issues. Our conversation became very heated, as Joe did disclose "I have to have this conversation all the time with my clients, there is nothing I can do". Joe, if you have this conversation all the time with your clients, maybe you should have a conversation with them then about prevention and protection rather than not doing your job and never having a discussion on what their policy is. Fast forward to today, where we are still recouping and finishing up the re-build of our basement. Everything has had to be out of pocket, costing us $15k+ and we still need to put in our carpeting. I am ashamed I have to write this review, but I hope those that are considering AAA or specifically Joe for their agent, please re-consider. read more
