Review is for in building service! We stopped in late morning on a Friday to get an international drivers permit. We aren't members with AAA, and still received friendly and quick service. We were in and out in maybe 15 minutes after doing pictures and forms. Quick and painless! While we were there they never once tried to sell us on a AAA membership. I have had a heck of a couple months. On a rainy, cooold, blustery Friday I took the kid to a medical appointment and waited in the car. When it was time to leave I listened to my child's coffee order and I turned the key in the ignition. Nothing. Not a grating noise.Not a flicker of dash lights. Nada. Well okay then. I got out my trusty , somewhat dusty AAA card and called for roadside assistance. I was told I would have help in an hour. Amen. Kid put the coffee plans on hold and plugged in to Spotify. My parents bought me my AAA of AZ membership at 16. I really needed it then as I drove a series of cheap old crusty lemons well into my late twenties. As broke grad students do. I developed strong relationships with a few of the AAA drivers, especially the ones in rural, tumbleweed, desolate Arizona where I worked as an itinerant therapist in 3 not so populated counties. I was always thankful when they rescued me. Sometimes I even baked them cookies. Yes, I have indeed been rescued by friendly AAA drivers many a time. On this day we got Matt, who matter of factly cleaned my gross 6 year old AAA battery, checked it (she's dead Jim), and replaced it with a shiny new AAA battery for the cost of the battery which has a 5 year warrantee I think. He explained it and I have paperwork but honestly I am just relieved at how simple and fast - about 90 minutes- the whole thing was. He was friendly and efficient. The AAA membership is worth it not just for roadside assistance but for travel planning, maps (remember those?),guidebooks, and travel insurance. Call made to AAA Beaverton for a tow truck. I was stranded in a parking lot and needed a tow 3.5 miles to a shop. I am 6 miles from the AAA Beaverton Location. Estimated time 2 hours. No updates, or follow up. I'm a disabled veteran, and technician with over 25 years of experience in service, hospitality, and engineering. Taken from their website, regarding my benefits as a member- "AAA provides world-class roadside assistance, and exclusive discounts and services to its members." After two hours I called AAA. Pro... I was able to reach a live person. In the end, the Technicians Kia and Austin did a great job. Thank you Liz for guiding everything forward. Cons... The call center reps were unsympathetic, rude, passive aggressive, un-knowledgeable, unhelpful, uncaring, disrespectful, and lack resources that other companies offer as an industry standard. They were quick to describe their service as inadequate, worthless compared to other companies, and not their problem. Absolute garbage customer service. Stop here if you've read enough. Description of Service Provided: Penny answered the phone and I explained that I had been waiting for a tow for two hours and I needed to get home to my family... she responded with, "Would you rather do this tomorrow?" I asked her when I could expect a tow truck to arrive. She responded with, we are very busy right now and someone will be available in another hour and a half. I asked if I could speak to the driver, she said no. I asked if I could get an update on their status as well as location. She said no. Items in their website that are inaccurate. "Are you in a safe place?" Never asked. "Track your service technician in real-time with Service Tracker" No true. I asked her if it was a contractor, she said no, it was a AAA driver. I explained my situation and urgency in getting home. She was extremely passive aggressive and explained my problems are not her issue. I asked if I had other options and she said I could call another tow company, but it would be out of pocket. Possibility of some partial reimbursement, but no guarantee. I asked if she or anyone else there had any more information. She said she did not know, and no one there at that time would be able to help me, or provide me with details about reimbursement. I asked to speak with a supervisor regardless once she explained that because my membership was free under their promotion, I shouldn't have high expectations on services provided regardless of what basic services you receive as a member. After a brief hold, Anton answered with his name and position. I asked him about the reimbursement, he informed me that if one was available, it would only be at the rate they would pay a contractor even though it was an AAA driver. But he ultimately made it clear he was guessing. He had no clue. And no way of me finding the information for myself. It was a wild guess for me to even attempt reimbursement and I would be taking a risk. -------------------------------------- Note: This is on their website. He said the service is cheap if you are lucky to get any service at all... followed by, you get what you pay for. I was shocked. I had to hang up before I exploded. This company SUCKS. In 5 years of paying for a membership i have received services from them ONE time, they have refused me everywhere time. I dont ask for much, I know how to change a spare tire and I dont run out of gas, but today was the last straw honestly. I called them for a tow, but I informed them they couldnt do a Winch tow on my car because its lowered and I would need a flat bed with ramps. They made me wait an hour before calling me to tell me they WONT help me because my car is modified. WHAT AM I PAYING FOR THEN?? Last year on a different car, my strut failed and I needed towed. They told me they wont tow me from one county to another even though it was only 6 miles. Whaaaaat am I paying for then? When I first purchased the membership, my clutch went out. I needed it towed 2 miles. I looked up AAA, read every single term and condition, policy and procedure, all the fine print and contracts, ALL of it to see if there was any rule that pre existing issues before membership would be a problem. It says literally nothing about that, so I bought it, asked for the tow then they told me because I already had an issue when I bought the membership that I had to pay an extra 150 for the tow. AAA Oregon//Idaho I put in a tow at 11 am. The first time-- estimated time was 30-45 minutes. I waited an hour with no communication, and their app broke so I couldn't follow the service details. *1st call--well they'll be there when they can. This lady was very empathetic and nice. 30 minutes later *2nd call--well they're 20-25 minutes away 30 minutes later *3rd call--well you have the link to watch the progress. I said "No, I don't, your link is broken or I wouldn't be bothering you" 30 minutes later *4th call--nothing was done *5th call--I am now calling to tell them I'm leaving my keys at the Subaru service center and taking an Uber home. This Karen tried telling me "I am not allowed to do that"... you can probably imagine how that went. I told her to either push it forward or get their manager on the phone. She replied with "okay, thanks for allowing me to help you" in a sarcastic, snarky, bitchy retort. And then (and oh this is what put the nail in the coffin for me) tries to SELL me on paying first and getting reimbursed later. "Oh have you heard about..." I said I'm not paying for jack squat. I'm already a member, paid in full. I want my 100 mile tow. Leaves me on hold for 10+ minutes. I hang up the phone. Uber picks me up. *6th call--Talked to some dude named OSCAR that spelled his name O S C A R at the end of the call, to make sure that I didn't have a difficult time spelling the Weiner company. I told him about the previous calls--he, again, tried to tell me that wasn't okay-- and I told him I'm not going to argue--I have been waiting damn near 3 hours by this point, I'm a disabled Veteran with animals at home waiting and depending on me--I'm not staying with the car. Keys are in the service center. He says "oh we will make an exception for you this one time"... wow, how kind of you OSCAR spelled O S C A R. I told him if I have to call back a 7th time, all hell would break loose, so I suggest it not happen. And imagine that-- **3 hours later** My car was towed and finally got to the 27 mile away destination at about 5:30 pm at night. 6+ hours later in total. The tow truck operator was perfectly FINE that I left the keys in the service center. And I am sure that's preferable to me being extremely irritated and pissed off by that point. I don't know what happened to this company, but you have pompous idiots working in that call center. They need retrained. Stop treating your members this way, and fix your app--if you're going to push the mantra "you can watch through the link"... can you please make the link work? I put the call in for roadside assistance at 9:40 pm and they were to arrive at 11:41 pm and when they didn't I had to call the 1 800 number and they said to wait 20 minutes and the tow company would call then they reset the time. I waited an hour and then called the 1 800 number and they told me to wait 20 more minutes but you can see the wait time for yourself. Not worth the annual price at all. read more

Aaa Beaverton Service Center - Insurance Near Me - Portland, Oregon

I called for a renter's/home owner's insurance quote in November 2022. The agent that I spoke to was Thomas Hull. He stated that he would need to have my AAA membership number before proceeding (this is not true, as I had AAA insurance for my apartment in Chicago and they never asked for my membership number) and said that AAA was "like Costco in that you have to be a member in order to receive services". I told him to not change anything about my road side services. He stated that he wouldn't and then proceeded to without my permission. I only found out this month because I received a renewal bill and a new membership ID card (my current roadside card is valid until 2024). I spoke to a customer service representative and they confirmed that Mr. Hull receives credit towards a quota for new Oregon members that he signs up. I already suspected this. She also asked if I ever went into the Beaverton office and I informed her that I did not. She was surprised. I assume that a signature was required for enrollment and my signature was forged. I will be reporting him and his license to the Division of Financial Regulation. read more

I have been a AAA Oregon member for well over 30 years. Several more decades if you include my membership while living in other States. This particular branch is the most convenient for me. When I need maps, travel gear, a battery charger or something like that, they almost always have what I want and at very reasonable prices. The person in the reception area is almost always very helpful, cheerful and friendly. No complaints there. The one star review is due to my experiences with their travel advisors. Some are absolutely top notch. Others are the absolute dregs. There seems to be no middle ground.... you either get a great travel advisor or a horrible one! The horrible ones are those who don't even take the time to read and understand what sort of trip you are planning. And those same "advisors" are the ones most likely to ignore what you want and will instead try to up-sell you with extra fees and so on. I have been a Premier level member for a very long time. I recently asked what was available for an international vacation package and was told (repeatedly) that I had to cough up a $100 "planning fee" before she would talk to me. We went to start our pick up this evening at 5:45 The battery was dead. We immediately called AAA. After not hearing from them for an hour we called the 1-800 # They said the technician was on another call finishing up and we were next. We waited another hour and no call or text. We called 1-800 AAA and they said the technician was finishing up another call and we were next. It is now 8:22 and still no technician. I just received a call from AAA saying our technician had arrived. I am not sure where he arrived because it certainly isn't where he is suppose to be. I am disgusted with AAA and will be looking for another road side assistance program. This is the worst service we have ever received. We will not be recommending AAA to anyone, nor will we be using AAA anymore. read more

Been a member since1980. Have 4 vehicle's. One I actually purchased from AAA Auto sales.l Tonight was stuck in snow and need to be pulled out. Even stopped a tow truck driver with a AAA truck while standing in 28 degree on the road side waiting for a ride. Told me he had a co-worker waiting for him for 2-hours and to call in for service. So late I did call in to be informed that if I was stuck in the snow that was not covered. If I was broke down and needed a tow truck they could help. Really! 36 years I have been paying and this is the first I know of this. Well I will be an advocate from this point forward to all that I meet to provide them with what good service you all provide. How often do we get snow in Portland, Oregon? I will certainly not be signing up for the PLUS account (more money for no service) and I will certainly be better informed when explaining to people what little you should expect. A jump if your battery is dead (or overpriced batteries they'll sell you on the spot, done that too) and a tow if your with the mileage perimeter. I guess I'll be looking at this expense more closely in the future....is it customer service oriented, and do I get the respect after 36 years. Terrible service, terrible ending. Usually when you think of towing a vehicle or retrieving a STOLE MOTORCYCLE... you've not had a good day! That all changed when I called AAA for help! My daughters MC was stolen last Friday in Portland and recovered near the waterfront in a parking garage this evening. I believe her name was "Stephanie"??? At AAA and she was an angel. If that is not her name... I hope management goes to any length to find out who she was, because she was the epitome of excellent customer service. I've been an AAA member all my adult life and several years ago even upgraded to Plus service. The radiator in my Outback blew out recently one evening on the freeway. AAA wouldn't tow the car to Carr Subaru or to my home because I couldn't be there--my kids were expecting me to be at their doorstep momentarily to babysit. Long story short, a good samaritan took me there, where the kids lent me one of their cars so I could get home that night. Had to go back the next day to meet the tow truck and follow it to the dealership. Everyone was discommoded. Chapter 2: Turns out Carr Subaru would charge me $7,000 to make the required engine repair, so after a couple of months of exploring options, gathering data, crunching numbers, talking to all manner of "car types" with different ideas of what to do, I decided to have a recommended independent mechanic look at it, as he had some good solutions. But, of course, I had to tow it there. I called AAA to have it towed, but was told by a rude-ish customer service person that because the car hadn't been repaired or worked on, AAA could not re-tow it "for the same incident". I was appalled. I said I surely was not the only person this had happened to. She said "Oh, no, it happens all the time!" Well, then why do they exclude this from their service package??? Right? The greatest irony is that I JUST purchase a new car insurance policy, leaving off "towing service"---BECAUSE, OF COURSE, I ALREADY HAD AAA !!! read more

I didn't have my membership number on me so they even went out of their way to call AAA in California to find out what it was. They'll be keeping me updated on their arrival through text. I have had AAA for years The insurance/road side assistance has always been very helpful. I recently went into the Beaverton location to speak with a travel agent for an upcoming trip to Hawaii. The agent we spoke with got a general idea of the location, price range, and activities we were looking into and she said she would get a couple of bundles put together with prices and email them over to us by the end of the week. It has been 4 weeks since we have heard from her and she has yet to respond to any of our email inquiries. I was very disappointed with this customer service. We ended up booking the trip ourselves through Orbit with a lower price than she was initially talking about. read more

I have had the worst service from this location over the past 3 years. I keep giving them different opportunities to assist me (Trip Tix, travel arrangements). But the travel arrangements were not what we expected, and there was no reply to my critique to the manager. The Trip Tix I ordered by phone, I was assured would be available in 2 days. One week later, not any contact about it ... at all. I even cancelled my membership at one point. Then discovered a newer location with a better attitude toward service, so I re-upped. Considering this is a service-driven organization, I think they need to examine their attention to service/details, and provide employees better training. read more
