I found it to be a very supportive group. Not only did joining the chamber help drum up a lot of business, but their events were fun and informative, and I met a ton of interesting people. I always enjoyed the chamber meetings...they offered an opportunity to meet all sorts of interesting and important people in the community, from business owners to local politicians. The staff who run the chamber are a cheerful bunch and are hard workers and are eager to help new businesses succeed. I am very grateful for their support and guidance. The group was also a positive group: Lakewood is culturally and politically very diverse and over the course of my membership I saw a number of controversial and potentially divisive issues arise, including a school tax levy and an issue of eminent domain use that drew national attention. The chamber did exactly what I think any organization should do: they took thoughtful stances on these issues, but were careful to avoid giving the public the impression that their official stance reflected the views of all its members. I would recommend anyone running a business in or around Lakewood to consider joining the chamber of commerce. Compared to other business networking groups that are often dominated by people interested primarily in self-promotion, I found the Lakewood Chamber to be a place full of sincere, honest business owners and community members. Joining the chamber and going to their events can be one of the best ways to get tied into the lakewood community.

My resume was accepted and I was granted the full time dayshift position as I had hoped and because I have a strong background in psychiatry having worked the field for over 20 years I was promised I would be assigned to the mental health unit for the majority unless on rare occasion when I would be needed in another area. Once I began working the job it became apparent the nursing management was horribly inept and unprofessional in the mental health and medical areas .The nursing manager in mental health had limited experience in mental health and had instructed nursing staff not to call the on call psychiatrist for prn emergency or medication orders as not to " bother them"when a mentally ill inmate suffered agitation or acute exacerbation of their illness allowing the inmate to suffer in their world of illness experiencing auditory and visual hallucinations screaming aloud to unseen demons in agony, slipping further and further out of touch with reality , allowed to languish for days , weeks even months alone in their cells , filthy and sleeping on urine soaked matress.It was the duty of the mental health nursing supervisor to refer such inmates to the jail psych clinic for for forced medications Yet she would rarely do this . It was the duty of any Registered Nurse assigned to the mental health area to contact the on call psychiatrist for emergency medicine injections yet when I began to call the psychiatrist for these orders as I feel any) reasonably prudent nurse would do I was chastised for bothering the psychiatrist.I acted as a patient advocate as I had been trained to do as I continued to ued to medicate patients on an emergency basis knowing thst some medication was needed to ease the symptoms of their illness .I also had to explain to the mental heslth nursing supervisor that not only were these injections necessary for the treatment of the inmates mental illness .a filter needle was lrequired to draw up the medication from the snap off top glass vials of medications used for these injections at the jail to protect the inmates from the potential for tiny shards of glass from entering their bloodstream via the injection route. This is something any reasonably prudent nurse would know yet the mental health supervisor did not know this nor did The Director Of Nursing . .Nursing management also instructed nursing staff administering medications scheduled for HS or bedtime to be given at 4 or 5 pm instead of 9 or 10 pm as intended .This is a violation of Ohio nursing Law As is utilizing Lpn s to perform nursing assessments which is in violation of Ohio Nursing Law and the scope Of Practice for an Lpn At least 7 nurses were reported to The Ohio Board Of Nursing for minor infractions undeserving of board filings . I myself had complaints filed to the board of nursing sgainst me by an assistant warden who had some type of preoccupation with me .complaints such as attending a Pt evaluation with a mpsychiatrist when I as a Registered Nurse was assigned to that same Pt.That very same psychiatrist was filmed at The Cuyahoga County Sheriff Dept evaluating Inmates for a show called msnbc Lockup where nationwide non medical people can watch thst psychiatrist evaluate Pts from their couches another board filings was against me because I failed to log a call I didn't receive despite the fact another nurse admits she took the call yet she didn't log it either another Board complaint because a high profile inmate shift assessment was missing and despite the antiquated per filing system leaves considerable margin for error.yet I am personally being held accountable.Another complaint filed because I told a high profile inmate that it was a good thing he didn't kill the women he held captive for 10 years.I was displaced from Mental Health .Put in my resignation on June 13 2013 , worked thru my promised period of resignation of July 1 2013 and received a receipt of resignation after which I received a registered letter that I had been terminated. 7 other nurses had board filings against them for various reasons within a 2 year period .I was notified of my biard filing 18 months after I left the jail.Also nursing management from the jail notified my curremt employer of board filings in an attempt to ruin my career and make me lose my current job. nurses beware Do not work for The Cuyahoga County Sheriff Dept they are not nurse friendly at all.

I intalled a four ton unit at my property and they screwed up so badly that it took me a over a year and several reworks to pass inspection. My water heater is already rusting and they seem disinterested in providing any solution. They claim that the 12 month warranty is passed, so they want me to pay to fix it. This took four months of me complaining to get any sort of response. I honestly think they stalled in responding, just so teh warranty period would pass. They are forcing me to replace it myself or sue them to get them to honor the contract. During the sales and install, I asked repeatedly about maintenance and service and the only answer I got - from clerical staff, field technicians, and teh owner himself - was taht the system is almost zero maintenance. Two weeks after the check cleared they started bombarding me with sales pitches to buy their service package. Suddenly, the system needed six month PMs, annual inspections for leaks, etc. Every call or question is like pulling teeth once they have their money. A rotten organization.
