I called the AAA phone number off of our membership card. The phone was answered and an appointment was made for the truck to come out with a new battery. The new battery was replaced and a new one was put in for $230.56. The car started running but service indicated that the car needed further repairs. Another AAA truck that could tow the Ford was called by Miguel and they will come today to pick up the Ford and take it to the dealership. Cancelling AAA-member over 30 years The technician who responded, a little after 1 pm, could not open the door and it turned out, he damaged my door , per the locksmith. It was about 100 degrees out. I finally had a locksmith arrive after 5 pm. All my frozen groceries were spoiled. I had to discard $77.43 worth of groceries. I arrived home after 6 pm. I had heat exhaustion by then. I called many AAA phone numbers to complain, no resolution. The locksmith also said they received 3 different reasons the tech could not get into the car. All were untruths. The next day I was offered $30 in AAA dollars. I asked the agent what grocery store accepted them, which I knew none! She acted surprise and said she didn't know. I said a check for the amount of groceries that were spoiled was what I was asking for. She acted like how could that be done! No resolution, no one responding now. Tried to call the corporate office and a woman who answered, "Hello", told me she was trying to get her home phone number off as the corporate number for over a year! I have been a AAA Member for 80 years and have seen a lot of changes in this organization. AAA does not respect or appreciate member loyalty. As the world turns, corporate greed has become forefront, and AAA is right along for the ride. While their Road Service is still exceptional, a big problem with this organization is routine cost increases, taking for granted that you must pay more every year. Also contacting decision makers is near impossible. Corporate leadership hides their contact information from members and local offices say they can't give you that information. This review is for international drivers permit only. I've never gotten an IDP before, but my mom told me that AAA was the place to go get one. I checked their website online, and verify the address, and saw the application online. I printed the application and of course I forgot to bring it with me. When I entered AAA, I was greeted immediately. The young man behind the desk gave me an application to fill out for the IDP, and no one else was waiting. As soon as I completed the form, he guided me to the photo area. You can bring your own photos for the application, they must be professional, passport style, or you could just have them done on site. I opted to have them done on site, which is only $12. The application for the IDP is $20, so I would say it was a great deal since it's one stop shopping. I waited approximately two minutes while he entered my information, photos, and charged my credit card. And then I was out the door with my IDP in hand. I was so surprised at how streamlined and simple the process wise. I would recommend this location for an international drivers permit to everyone. However, if you are not near this location, you can visit their website to find the closest location to you. Just be aware that not all locations do passport photos on site . You also have the option to get your own photos, print the application, and mail it in. I do not know what the turnaround time is for that overall, simple, easy process, and very happy customer. read more

The end of an era... I am so angry with myself for hanging onto my AAA membership these last 5 years... There was a time when I used to go to AAA to get travelers checks, maps, trip routing, and of course... towing services. For over 40 years I have been a loyal member... the last 5 years have been nothing but one miserable experience after another... Need a tow? Well, it seems you just can't get a tow if you are an AAA member. I have been left in the side of the road with a wrecked car in the sun and rain for hours while empty tow truck after empty tow truck just drive by and wave. I have been left in a parking lot with a broken down car in the sun and rain for hours while empty tow truck after empty tow truck just drive by and wave. I have sat at my house waiting to get a tow so I can go to work multiple times (like today) and no truck for hours or updates! Today I waited 5 hours and still could not get an arrival estimate! When I POLITELY mentioned that I would like to talk to customer service about my membership, I was promptly hung up on. When I called back and asked the same, I was put on hold and no one ever returned to the call. Had to hang up. Needless to say, I feel like I am forced to sever my relationship with AAA after many many years... (more than 2/3rds of my life as a member) AAA is dead. They only hang on, it seems, to milk a few more dollars out of loyal "old" customers like me before they go away for good. I am a member of 29 years and had the worst experience recently. I had recently bought a used truck. I was out driving it and had a issue with the overheating. so i parked called aaa. they informed me i did not need to stay with the truck if i could give the keys to someone i trusted. My wife then drove 3 hours to pick me up. when the vendor got to my truck since it was new the temp tag must of blown off. But i have a copy on my phone with the registration. Now mind you I am 3 hours away. and the vendor drove off. I told them i can provide proof of tag and ownership and registration. Nope not good enough and i should be there but they told me i could leave. Called to talk to a supervisor lets just say 66568 who was useless at understand how mechanical things operate and refused to have my truck picked up. I reminded them as a member i get trip interruption over 100 miles which pays up to 1500.00 for meals, hotels and expenses so i will take a trip this weekend to where my truck is located and spend the night and have dinner for them to tow my truck anyways. If you break down over a 100 miles enjoy the perks of what they offer. they still will do the tow and now will pay for my time and wait on something a supervisor refused to fix on the spot. worst company this is becoming simple decisions cant be make and would rather spend more than they need to to help their own customers out. steak dinner and hotel on them yay. they ask are you in a safe place they could care less read more

Heathrow Florida is a the Corporate Headquarters for AAA so I am Yelping on their page to let them know how pleased I am with their services. Our relationship dates back to when I was a kid back in NJ and my parents were members. So obviously when I got my first car I got a membership too. Years ago they would plan out your trips with maps and a trip tic which the co driver would follow along from the passenger seat and tell the driver the best route to go. Obviously that has been replaced by the navigation systems that are integrated into most cars today. However they still have road side assistance which we used in a trip to SC this past May. We were in the middle of no where. Anyways who knew if you don't have premium membership than you have to pay for the gas they bring you. I was so grateful I would gladly pay regardless. Anyways over the years other companies tried to match their service but never do. I even have a new Mercedes and I called AAA instead as I know what to expect. So the real reason for this review AAA just saved me $2,400 on phone service annually as I switched from AT & T to TMobile it was a special program I got in the mail from them. This is the corporate headquarters of AAA, the American Automobile Association. AAA has multiple state-wide and regional chapters including the one of which I am a member, AAA Carolinas but there is one for where you are whether it's AAA Northern New England, AAA Alabama or the Automobile Club of Southern California. They all stand under the umbrella of the national organization. There are also similar international organizations including The AA (the British version) and CAA (the Canadian version). My family has been a member of AAA going back to at least the 1980s. Back then, one of the great features of AAA was ordering custom road maps. Before there was GPS and satellite navigation with Google Maps on your phone, you could get a Triptik. Triptiks were bound maps with a highlighted line showing your route from point A to point B. I remember one year, we drove from New York to Key West. It was always a highlight turning to the next page in the map. So much fun! I think they still do that. AAA's marquee service is their roadside assistance program where you can call for help with your broken down car whether it's a dead battery, flat tire or you've locked the keys inside. Usually within an hour, a helper is at your side to assist and if they can't, they'll tow you to the nearest garage. Some AAA offices have repair shops (change a tire, replace a battery or something more serious) and the national organization sells automobile and motorcycle insurance. The local offices sell travel needs including suitcases, accessories, cruises and more. Some hotels and rental car companies offer discounts to AAA members, so a membership could end up saving you money overall. My loyalty for car insurance is with another company who also provide roadside assistance but I'm still a huge fan of AAA and maintain my membership here for extra peace of mind. My parents have been with AAA as long as I can remember so I joined when I was an adult. This location is the first brick & mortar I've been in since I was a kid. I had to go to get passport photos (which are free for a certain amount of them & then we'll discounted for anything over that amount). I had virtually no wait and the process was quick. When I got to the passport office they were concerned about a shadow in the pic. It ended up being fine but double check your pics before leaving AAA. The hours are not super convenient and it would be great if they had some saturday options. read more

I applied via mail for my IDP end of Dec. I thought this would be an easy process. I sent it to my local branch via mail. It was sent to this corporate office. My check was cashed a week later, yet, I never got my IDP in the mail. I called the local branch near me and they could not tell me where my IDP was, nor did they have a record of it. Even with the information on the check, they did not know. After some google searching and sleuthing, I found this Heathrow branch. After another round of phone calls and being re-routed via the automated phone system, I was able to speak to an associate. Said associate, finally found my information after some time. I was told my permit was mailed. After some pushing, I was told they would speak to their supervisor and get back to me. It's been 2-business days and no one has called me. I called AGAIN today - and there was no notes or recollection of my issue. I was placed on a long hold and then the call disconnected. When I called back, the office was closed. Some customer service! I will call back AGAIN. Sadly, I would not recommend this process. If you need an IDP - drive to the branch, even if it's far away. I heard it's a smooth, easy process in person. I don't know what's going on with this Corporate branch, but they have some opportunities for improvement. read more

Jose had done the front end again, a dozen more things and it was 99 % perfect all those thousands of miles. When we got back he did the remaining 1 % but the car kept stalling out and idle was rough - more stuff clean filters etc etc fuel injectors and etc. Victoria was running ok, only stalled couple times when first started so I was driving it to Weston. on the Palmetto Friday in heavy traffic and it started to stall out again. Huge monster truck and speeding cars all around me, I was stuck several times - the car would not catch - I was sure I was going to get hit and smashed from behind. I kept having to go into park, start the car but when I put it back in drive it stalled out. Finally I got it to move enough to get off the Palmetto at NE 103. Hialeah, and turned into the first drive I could, a parking lot for Wells Fargo . I was actually distressed from the live ordeal of being dead stopped on the Palmetto at rush hour . I called AAA . I got a girl who didn't know her ass from her ass, couldn't find my location , ( I am very clear on that ). route number right in front of me, etc. she kept saying are you in Boca Raton ? then finally she told me that AAA was only towing 10 miles in Florida on account of the hurricane. What ever in hell that is . That she could have a tow to a AAA authorized repair station only but then it was late ant they were all closed. I tried to get her to send a tow truck but she would not - said all the repair stations were closed and she had to have an address to send a tow to me. I told her my cell was low 20 % to please hurry up, she was totally unable to find my location and I am Very clear on the route number as well as where I was, a Wells Fargo parking log on that street first exit at ne 103 St off the Palmetto Expressway rt 826. Miami Florida. first right after exit from Palmetto Expressway. Every tow drive could fine me if he was blind folded. There was no numerical address showing, I am not able to walk ok , I am handicapped. I told the agent this. I know if a tow drive came that he would tow me the full way. These brilliant , not, agents with AAA were horrible , willing to leave me stranded in a parking lot all night with not help. The second agent at least found my location right away but also the 10 mile max thing that AAA put on Florida with the excuse of the hurricane. So there I was stranded in the parking lot of Wells Fargo, my cell down to 20 %, frustrated and angry. I had told both AAA genius girls that my cell was low with no place to charge it and to call me back or hurry up But they were rude , slow and incompetent. I never had such a situation with AAA over all the many years I had to use them as I did yesterday. Dumb agents, slow, not helpful - one of them said I was '' not nice'' even when I Gave my location to her. I answered - Don't you realize ??? I was just in a dangerous traffic situation , my car died on me and you can't tow my car now and you think I should kiss your ass with kindness for being so dumb and incompetent not even being to verify my location when I have given it to you clearly and sever.al times and you don't get it. ? Of course I was upset and angry - what stupid fool put such a 10 mile tow restriction for all of Florida ? We had no flooding no damage in Miami. I was stranded in a parking lot with no place to go. One agent told me to find my own tow company but was she really dumb ? No computer, low battery on my cell phone, no directory and she would not look up any tow company to send to me. I walked somehow across a busy street and managed not to get hit to an office building Care Max ? There were a couple people standing outside on the employees side entrance so I went to them with my dilemma. Lucky they were all Latins so they let me in the building that had an outlet right there at the door also a chair right there to sit on. What amazing luck for me to be able to charge my cell phone. When the power goes out in the world, I want to see the people scramble who have cell phones, computers and electric cars. Ha ha ha it will be Planet of the Apes for real. I called Jose' He got the orange Dart, came to get me, drove me the rest of the way to Weston ( I don't drive at night anymore with this macular eye degeneration thing, even with glasses. Been a loyal customer with AAA for 15+ years. Never been so disappointed in the lack of care, safety, or concern for their customers. After speaking to 3 different staff members, I finally got to speak to a supervisor in the customer service dept. All I got was nothing but excuses after excuses. AAA car battery is by far the worse I have ever experienced. I got a battery replacement back on August 6th 2021. After only 8 months, my car has been stranded twice with 0 service in reaching anyone from AAA. First time at Lake Cachuma (August), and second time at Big Bear Lake (April). Both times I had to ask a random stranger to help me jump start my vehicle since I had no service in reaching AAA. Luckily, the third time my vehicle did not start was at my home and I was able to contact AAA in January 2022. I asked AAA to replace my battery again since it is still under warranty. AAA refused because when the technician did a diagnostic test, the reading of the battery came back as "good." Of course the battery is going to read "good" since I had no way of reaching AAA the day of when I was stranded. I had to get it jump started from strangers who were willing to help. I was able to drive back home and contacted AAA the next day for them to fix the battery, again. Basically, their excuse was if your car does not start again I need to contact them right away for a tow truck to jump start my car and run a diagnostic. And they will only replace the battery if the reading comes up "bad." Completely missed the point of my situation and for my safety. They just care about cost and savings. I am not going to waste my time or AAA's time in trying to "scam" the company of getting a new battery if that is what they are thinking. I just want to drive with a peace of mind that AAA's battery is reliable and efficient. Obviously, it is neither and full of excuses. I will make sure everyone that I know is aware of their lack of understanding and lack of 0 to none in attempting to resolve the situation. read more

OK, here is the latest update. It has now been over 30 hours since the call was first put in to get a tow for my car. Because it is a lengthy tow, over 70 miles, it seems that there are no tow truck drivers willing to take the job. AAA refuses to do anything about this. Let me repeat, 30 hours ago this request was put in. Each time everyone on the phone is very nice and polite and very apologetic, but nothing gets done... Nothing. So my car continues to sit there and AAA, even with the gold membership, refuses to do anything about it. AAA has left me stranded and they don't seem to care one bit. Yes, they sure know how to be polite on the phone, but it seems that that is all they are able to do. Can someone please share with me a plausible excuse on why I should take 30 or more hours. Oh and by the way, that's how long I've been waiting. There are still no drivers assigned to take this. It appears very likely that it will carryover until tomorrow, or even Monday. AAA has been a complete an absolute disaster with this incident. And there's no one to call except the same people who tells us that dispatch is working on it. Dispatch is working on it? From what I have seen online, this location is the corporate headquarters for AAA. My complaint involves a service issue arising in Pennsylvania, but, after multiple communications with two AAA departments, and one of its retail locations, I cannot figure out the physical address of whatever region was supposed to have handled my request for roadside service. That an issue of this sort should be so difficult for members to decipher is quite remarkable. Anyway, the basic facts of my complaint are this: Early the other day, I discovered that my car, which was in our community parking area, had a flat tire. My wife and I have been AAA members for many years, and roadside service is supposedly one of the free benefits. I called the toll-free number and was told that someone would be showing up in about an hour. Nobody ever arrived, so I called AAA again, about two hours after my original call. The representative who picked up said she would look into the status of my request, but my call was disconnected while I was on hold. I then called a third time, talking to yet another representative, who informed me that, because of our address, my request should have gone to a different AAA service area. She did not explain what that meant, what could be done about it, or what had become of my request for service. Shame on AAA for not taking action for letting me know that there had been a problem. Complaint sent to AAA Corporate on 1/25/2022: On Monday, 02/23/2023, I Waited nearly 3 hours for a gallon of. Gas with a 9 month old in my car car. My first request was around 9:45pm. I ran out of gas in a new car I purchased day before. No engine, no heat, in 20° weather. I called several times for updates (nobody EVER called to check on us), I was originally told 10:30pm the driver would be here and he no-showed. A California Highway Patrol officer stopped to check on me. At about 11:15pm I contact Fox 11 news, they wanted to do a story, film my 9 month old, and contact the driver upon his arrival. Just prior to speaking on the phone with a supervisor at 11:40pm, I was called by the driver stating he JUST got the call for service at 11:35pm!!!!!????? Nearly two hours after I broke down I was still speaking to the supervisor when the tow truck pulled up. While speaking with her, I received a text message at midnight from my hotel stating my room had been canceled because I did not show. I was about 30 minutes from my hotel when I broke down. I told the supervisor who I was speaking to on the phone at the time, "great, my hotel just canceled. My room". She said that she was sorry to here this occurred but there's nothing she could or would do about it. I told her that I thought I had trip interruption insurance that was included with this membership and she said I was pretty much on my own. So now I'm stuck on the side of the highway, over two hours, waiting for 1 gallon of gas, and now I have no room for my family to sleep in when we get to our destination. I have text messages from the hotel canceling my reservation. I also have screen shots of a portion of my conversations with your staff because some were done via phone I've been a 21 year member of AAA. I am going to cancel my membership and contact an attorney to sue AAA. I'm willing to consider a settlement but it will have to go through my attorney upon my return home on Friday 6/27/2023. This is not the end of this, only the beginning. Your company (and possibly my attorney) will decide the outcome of my complaints. At this point I am willing to settle for $50,000 but that denad for compensation will increase $5,000 daily beginning tomorrow, 06/25/2023. You have not heard the last from ne. I have been fortunate not have needed to use AAA for awhile, but my tire blew out on the way home on Sat Evenining. Now when you call, they send a text back where you can self server and submit a ticket. I submit and within 20 minutes a service tech as there. We found out I didn't have the key for the wheel lock, so he couldn't change my tire. So escalated my service and ordered a tow truck. The tracker on the app said someone would be there in 2 hours. So a woman from AAA called me to let me know she couldn't find a truck. Then Ashleigh called from the AAA tow truck. I had help coming in 20 minutes. After a few attempts to get the tire off, towing was the only option. I left Ashleigh with my keys an the car was towed to the Tire place I requested. I have been an AAA customer for 37 years. I'm a retired senior in my mid 70s and have been a loyal customer with AAA. On February 14, 2024 I received a vague one paragraph email stating that my home insurance will not be renewed once it expires in May of 2024 because my roof was not being maintained. I went to speak with my AAA agent and I asked "what are my options?", I offered to redo my roof or even pay for a roof inspection, but the agent stated that AAA is not looking for solutions because AAA is simply not going to renew my coverage. Confused, I left my agent's office and called AAA and spoke to 3 different staff members. I respectfully asked AAA to explain to me why this is happening? AAA staff member Anita Burton from the service dept spoke to me. Anita offered different excuses such as "well, roofing jobs take a long time, you can't get it done by May". I countered "I own a construction company and I have been a contractor for over 40 years. Roofing jobs literally take one business day. It's February right now and my renewal date is in May. I can definitely fix my roof in 3 months. If my roof is not being maintained and is a current liability, you still are covering me until May, what difference does it make as I will fix the roof by the next renewal date?" Anita was quiet, stuttered often, and it was very evident that she was in a difficult position because she had the task of trying to sugar-coat this dishonest situation. Cornered and out of excuses, she finally disclosed that "this is AAA's new direction that we are headed toward, that letter is just notifying you that we are not renewing your home insurance. Anything else I can help you with?". I asked to speak to a manager and she transferred to public relations (I'm assuming I was transferred to public relations because this is happening often). The public relations agent looked up my membership and she noted that I have been a long-time customer and she will email corporate to see if "there is something they can do". It is very sad that I have been a loyal customer with AAA under their umbrella insurance for 37 years and they couldn't even give me the decency to be honest. As mentioned on different news outlets, most insurance companies are down-sizing especially in CA due to liability costs. I would've appreciated the honest truth rather than beating around the bush with excuses. After I did some research, it appears this is a tactic that is happening to many people (insurance companies using aerial footage to find violations, and not offering options to remedy except terminate renewal contracts--basically find any excuse to terminate your insurance). For the last 37 years, whether the economy was good or bad, I stuck with AAA as a customer. I continued to pay my premiums during the dot.com bubble bust, 2008 recession, and COVID-19 pandemic, but obviously AAA won't flinch to cast you out like garbage. Shop elsewhere. read more

My experience with their lockout service or battery jump-start has usually timely, but whenever I have actually needed a tow-truck for towing or tire-replacement, the wait has been seemingly eternally long! Most of the time, when I've called for a tow service I have had to wait an average wait time of 12-15+ hours to receive assistance. Moral of the story, don't let your car breakdown! In fact, at least that is what one of their reps even said to us one time, more or less.....They are not much help in the way of efficiency! read more

I've been a member of AAA for close to 25 years, but will never ever give this company another single penny after most recent experience last night. I made a call around 7:45pm for service to change a flat tire, took a while to get through and get it going, but was informed someone would be there within an hour and a half. Shortly later, I received a text that service was dispatched to me and that I would receive a text (which didn't come). I called again around 9pm and received an update that service would be there by 9:15pm. They never showed nor did I receive any updates. I called back, took over 25 minutes to speak to someone, who almost immediately put me on hold for 10 more minutes just to tell me she was going to have a different location call me back, which I refused as we have been out in the cold in a not great location near some wilderness for almost 2 hours at this point. After more waiting, they told me they reached the service person and they were finishing up with a person and now had a 10:15pm ETA. I was transferred to a supervisor, who had the absolute worst customer service skills that I've encountered in a very long time, and clearly didn't care about the customer or her job. She kept saying, don't worry, I promise they will be there at 10:15pm. I kept asking what if they don't show up again like the first times I was told they were coming and she said AAA would contact me if anything changed from the ETA. She kept ignoring my questions and not answering my questions to include, why didn't they show up yet when was already twice as long as originally told, why didn't anyone contact me in any way to tell me of the change in time, etc. Well, 25 minutes later and it was 10:15pm, and nope, they didn't show. I waited a bit and still didn't show. I called while waiting and it took 15-20 minutes to speak to someone. She said she called the service provider and they were just finishing up on the service and I was next and they were about to head my way. I confirmed they would be there soon as we had been waiting in the cold with our child for over 2 1/2 hours at this point. She said they would be there soon and she hung up. 5 minutes later, the service company called me and said they were on the way but asked me if I could just change my own tire. I informed them I had no clue how to do that, not sure if had correct tools and I wouldn't pay for AAA nor would I have waited for almost 3 hours in the cold at this point if I knew how to do that. He then informed me he was in Hanover, MD, which is about 1 hour and 15 minutes away from my location! I was furious (not at the driver, but at AAA). I called back to AAA and they transferred me to the same supervisor who clearly hates her job and just lies to customers and ignores their questions to get them off the phone. At this point it was around 11pm, we had been out in the cold with our child stranded in not the best neighborhood and near some wilderness for over 3 hours and had been lied to countless times by AAA employees at this point. The supervisor again clearly made it clear she didn't care. I kept asking why they kept lying to me as now I had to wait another hour after already waiting for 3 hours, making me wait for around 4 hours when I was told around 1 hour to begin with. I have other roadside assistance coverage with my insurance and would have used them if AAA had been honest and didn't keep lying would have at least updated me on anything relevant to my service request instead of brushing me off and lying to me. She did absolutely nothing to try and help just gave excuse that they have limited resources (how does AAA have only one tow truck driver in a city of 80,000 people and none in surrounding areas?) AAA did absolutely nothing to try and help or even pretend to care and just kept lying to me to get me off the phone one time after another after another not caring at all that my family was stranded for 4 hours in the cold in a not great area near some wilderness. This is NOT the service I pay for as this isn't even service. I will never renew my AAA membership and want to cancel my current membership and receive a refund. If AAA cannot properly fulfill the expectations of the membership services, then they have no business charging or keeping customers money. read more

This isn't your father's or your grandfather's AAA. We've been AAA members for decades. My wife was less than half a mile from home, visiting a neighbor, when she discovered her flat tire. I grabbed the portable air pump and headed out to see if the tire would inflate. I was able to pump up the tire but I could hear the unmistakable hiss of a serious leak. She was able to get her vehicle into the driveway but several minutes later the tire was a flat as two-day-old root beer. We called AAA roadside assistance and explained the problem. We weren't in any hurry but I requested that the vehicle be towed about four miles away to a local tire dealer. To my surprise, the AAA phone representative said they were obligated to put on the spare tire first because AAA could not tie up flat bed trucks. The AAA representative said the car could be towed only if the spare tire was unusable. I had never heard of such a thing but there was nothing I could do about it. 45 minutes to an hour later, not one, but two AAA trucks pull up to the house. Both service techs remain to change the tire. One of the service techs receives a telephone call while the car is elevated on the jack and stops changing the tire in order to answer his phone. It's AAA dispatch calling to tell him he can proceed to another service call and to let the second technician complete the service request. As soon as the technician hangs up the cellphone he proceeds to go fully ballistic in plain view of two customers and his AAA colleague. He begins yelling about how he's going to quit the job and that he's worked a 13-hour day. The ranting and cussing continued. The unprofessionalism that this untamed hothead exhibited would have gone viral on social media if video footage of the incident existed. Even the second AAA technician looked stunned by his coworker's surly behavior. Almost instantly, the frenzied AAA tech went over to our car and without any warning, pulled the release on his floor jack, sending our vehicle careening downward in less than a second. Had anyone been underneath the vehicle, for example, to pull the spare tire from the undercarriage tray, injury could have ensued. Regrettably, I just renewed my AAA membership for another year but after this horrible experience I'll be shopping around for other roadside rescue options, including additional coverage from my automobile insurance. I am a single mom, I have had AAA for many years. I can't always renew my membership as it expires for lack of money. This year I had a few mailings about renewing with special pricing. I could not renew for lack of money when the mailings were sent to me. When I did have the money to get my membership back, I called and asked if they had any specials and they said no. Right after I called and paid full price for memberships they sent me a letter saying they had aa reinstatement special promotion for me and it was 40.00 less than what I had paid....when I called back they said they could not honor the pricing. I was not happy but said okay. Today I received a bill in the mail for the special price membership....$40.00 less than I paid a few weeks earlier.... I called the customer service membership and was treated less than kind when I asked why this happened, and why could I have not just waited to pay my bill now, instead I had paid the bill with a debit card on the phone when I called to get my membership a few weeks earlier... sooooo they told me they could not honor the special pricing on the membership but they billed me for it...then the customer service lady did not even say good-bye when our conversation ended, they really could care less about us as a customer..... read more

Would not recommend this company. I recently purchased a motorcycle and called to see if my current plan had motorcycle towing just in case I needed it in the future. I spoke with someone who notified me that my membership did not have motorcycle towing. I asked how much it would be to add it on I was on my parents account. I was told it would be an additional $350 because it would add the motorcycle to everyone on the plan. I then asked how much it would be if I came off the plan and I was told it would be $119 plus $10 off for auto renewal. I asked what would happen to the my dad's plan who I was under. The representative said that my dads account would be refunded for whatever the remainder was before his next due date. So since I was singing up in February and his renewal is up in May, he would be given a partial refund for whatever months I was not on his plan. The lady on the phone kept saying how she couldn't speak and write at the same time so her sentences weren't very clear. I said I would like to sign up for my own membership since it was cheaper and not everyone would need the motorcycle. I asked if I would be pulled off my dads plan tonight so that he would get the refund from today- May. She said that he would because I would be pulled off his account and put on my own as of tonight. I signed up, then at the end of the call I asked when he would get the refund so I could let him know. She said," oh it seems you used a call so he will not get any refund." I asked what happens to my other two calls I'm allowed. She stated they don't get credited but I get 4 new ones with my new membership. I told her I don't want to sign up then because she didn't disclose that, she just said he would be refunded. I got transferred to a manger who was worthless in this situation. read more

I had an awful experience with their "auto renew" policy. I absolutely turned this option off when I renewed last year. For what it's worth, it is completely messed up that these subscription based products default you to "auto renew", and then you have to turn it off. I checked my bank balance yesterday, and see a charge of $144 on it for AAA. It nearly made me overdrawn on my checking account. I would think that a customer-centric business would have the courtesy of sending me an email and/or hardcopy letter to let me know they were about to charge me the renewal fee. But, nope, that's not how they operate. I won't be doing business with them ever again. Very shysty in my book! read more

I cannot speak to the AAA Corporate Office but as a former AAA Member the customer service experience I had was reprehensible. After being a AAA Platinum Member for over 10 years, I ended my membership after a recent service experience. I contacted AAA to transport a BMW i3 to Fields BMW because the battery discharged while it was parked at Fast Park and Relax over the span of a business trip. After waiting 45 minutes, a tow truck contractor arrived and said he didn't have wheel dollies to move the vehicle out of it's parking space, nor did he have a flat bed truck to use to transport it. I eventually left and my wife remained behind to wait for another tow truck driver to arrive. After another hour, another tow truck contractor arrived with a flat bed truck, but he refused to tow the vehicle because I was not present and my wife's name wasn't on the AAA membership card I left with her. He left and I returned from Lake Mary to pick her up. We had to leave the vehicle there until I could return with a battery booster to jump start the vehicle myself. A couple of days later, I spoke to a rude manager who spoke to me like we were arguing in the street and she hung up the phone on me. Since then, I joined an alternate eco friendly service with better customer service and lower prices. AAA has gotten too big to care about the customers that shaped it's business. read more

My family has had AAA roadside assistance for over 20 years. Yesterday, just minutes after picking my young kids up from daycare the water pump on my 5 year old vehicle went out and was not drivable. I was 30 minutes from my house. I immediately called AAA and was on hold for over 30 minutes before I could even schedule a tow. Once the tow was scheduled they said we would receive a call once the tow truck was on the way. A while went by with no update. After several calls into AAA AND waiting 2.5 hours we finally got through to a rep that told us we can call another tow company and get reimbursed for the cost. I was able to locate another company that arrived within 15 minutes to tow my vehicle. By this time it was 8pm/dark and I was still with my 2 young kids. Then at 1am we received a call from AAA asking if we still needed a tow. That is absolutely unacceptable. Luckily, I my husband wasn't traveling(as he travels frequently) and he was able to pick us up as the rest of my family was gone. I can't imagine being in this situation by myself if I was in an unfamiliar area. We have AAA for a sense of safety for situations like this and will no longer after this experience. read more

I'm a member but let's skip that. Apparently, you can walk into the building, pass the map store and travel agency, and go right into the cafeteria. Oh and get a pass from the front desk. Anyway, the food is cafeteria food, a grill, a sandwich section, hot homestyle meals, dessert, drinks etc. all that you would find in a large office building. As with most office buildings they are open to the public. Other than being kind of nice and having OK food, the view.... You can sit inside near the large windows, or outside with a view of a beautiful golf course. I assume that it might be the Heathrow golf course or something. Very inexpensive. He was extremely sympathetic and told me he would try to expedite my requested towing. We no sooner hung up and the AAA driver called me to say he was 15 minutes away. After work discovered I had a flat tire. in Bradenton. I called AAA who told me at 5:15 someone would be there by 7:15. At 7:00 called AAA and they said that that the St Petersburg Towing Company dropped the call and failed to let AAA know. Then they said that they have someone in Bradenton coming by 8:30. When that person didn't come AAA said it would be only 15-20 more minutes (after waiting for 3.25 hours) so we cancelled the call. We needed maps and travel books so stopped in and received the needed supplies quite quickly along with a few we hadn't expected. Apparently they also have good deals on getting into the amusement parks, we didn't ask questions. I needed to use the restroom and had to ask twice since I was confused about where it was, everyone was wonderfully helpful. The parking lot for guests and visitors was quite large and the entrance easy to get to. Lots of shady trees to keep the car cool. read more

I've been a member of AAA since 1976! I am horrified at what AAA roadside service has done to my friend I just talked into a membership plus RV with her son and husband. She's been asking for a tow for 11 hours!!! She called me at 1 PM and is waiting in a rough area, even in daytime in Hollywood Florida near Hardrock. Very rough at midnight. I have called and somebody answered after I was cut off 4 times. The person who finally answered would NOT give her name oh, poo, poo naa naa. So sorry, I'll transfer you! Then I've been in the loop now for 20 minutes writing on my PC. I'm guessing I must arm myself and go wait by my friends side for hours? Finally got a rep who says regular company won't go into area. I have had AAA road side coverage for 26 years and have always been very pleased with their service when needing a tow. I can honestly say that is no longer the case. I have had a need for a tow since 5:00 tonight and after four different calls with various individuals, 2 supervisors no one could give me an answer definitively why it would take 6 hrs to go two miles for a tow. .. I still do not have a tow. The staff does not seem to have a clue as to when someone will be able to provide a tow, They made up four different times, at which the latest is 11:30 tonight. I was told they can not make this a first priority for tomorrow morning and must call back early with hopes of getting towing service. I will not be calling except to register a complaint to upper management concerning the issue. I would not recommend this company to anyone, I have never been so put off and deceived in my life!
