On our road trip, both batteries on our pick up truck went out. We were at RV park in Austerlitz so at least we were safe in our RV. Called State Farm RS and they could not find a provider. Called AAA and they were awesome, Zeb who was awesome came out about 30 minutes after I contacted AAA. He tested both batteries and they were both bad, both batteries had to be replaced, you cannot just replace one, but he only had one battery on the truck. He jumped our truck and it started and then said we could follow him back to AAA office which was 45 minutes away and they can install the two batteries or AAA could come out next morning between 8 and 10 and bring two batteries. We decided to have them come back the next morning. We did drive the truck for about 45 minutes and came back to campground and because batteries so dead it would not start again. The next morning AAA called just a few minutes after 8 and said Julio would be at our location in about 45 minutes after he does a tire change for another driver. He got to us quicker than that and Julio was also awesome. Julio got both batteries installed, when he took out one of old batteries, that one was leaking acid so that was one of the battery issues. Use Roadside assistance on 9/7/25. Im from Long Island and had my issue in Catskills area. Call my AAA who transferred me to the Hudson Valley AAA they took my info and called within minutes to tell me help was on the way ETA 55 minutes. Raihan showed up 1 hour 5 minutes later which I thought was pretty good considering I felt we were in the boondocks. Raihan was polite, considerate and completed the repair quickly and got us back on the road and we made our tee time. Thank you Raihan Everyone should have AAA It's worth every dollar. read more

Roadside assistance on 12/07/2024 by AAA was A+ all around. I think Kelly was the name of the dispatcher who took my call for help. Her response was very clear and friendly. A technician was on the way to help jump start my car in downtown Albany. I could even track the progress map on my phone. The technician is named Christopher. He called to update me on his progress. He was 10 minutes away. He spoke clearly and was friendly. He arrived quickly. He assessed the situation and got my car started. But then he took a reading on my battery and showed me that the battery was almost dead. I needed a new battery and he was able to replace it as I waited. Then, he provided me with a receipt. The entire experience turned out to be great. AAA came to my rescue and turned my distress into relief. The staff is nice with exceptional communication skills. They're awesome at their jobs. Battery died on my Jeep. AAA sent one of their vans. Guy said the battery had to be replaced. He replaced it, but didn't know what he was doing. He created a short which scrambled the computer codes for the transmission and locked it down. Cost $730 to get the software reinstalled at the dealer. If you need a tow, AAA is great, but that's about it. read more

Yesterday I developed a slow leak in one tire because of a nail. This morning it was flat. I called AAA and Dave G showed up promptly. The person who had taken my call told me that the service person could plug my tire for $20 if the nail was in the tread (I paid over $50 at the dealership last time this happened). It was, and Dave did a great job. But he went above and beyond by checking all of my tires, recommending some local car mechanics, adjusting a rim of another wheel so that I'd be able to get air in the tire, etc. He told me about AAA tire service and explained how I could order a set of tires online and have them put on my car by a special tire service truck that AAA has. This was the most pleasant and informative and reasonably priced experience I've had in a long time! Thank you Dave G and AAA!!!! read more

They are a joke, they're not worth any stars. I've been a member for 9 years. They changed the prices when they feel it's convenient for them. They just change the price again even higher. Now when I started, I was told I had to have an RV plus plan the cover. My motorcycle, they took it months themselves to take it off. My plan didn't find out until I broke down with my bike and then the tow truck driver dropped it. I do have a pending lawsuit against the driver of the truck and Victor spurs. We some kind of supervisor honestly, I think hes an idiot. I would not suggest AAA to nobody not even my worst enemy. I will have an update soon. read more

I have been an AAA member for over 20 years. I get two benefits from my membership: peace of mind knowing that if my car breaks down, I will have access to emergency services and free maps. Now, their emergency services sometimes take a while to arrive, but that is true of just about any car towing service. However, unlike Bubba's Garage which might get to you or might not, AAA has the obligation to find a place to send out a repair truck. As for maps, I love maps. I highlight them, I cut them up, I paste them to things, and then I throw them out. They are disposable... and AAA's policy of handing out free maps is wonderful. Sure, they offer more. Like travel planning and such. But I like to plan my own trips. For what it is worth, not every AAA place charges the same rates. When I lived in Saratoga County it cost a little bit less, and their fees are billed to separate companies. I moved after I mailed in my renewal check, and AAA wouldn't transfer it (they did send back the check though). read more

For some reason AAA decide to put me on auto renewal. Yet, they sent me a bill for renewal anyway. I didn't need the service as I have a new car with three years of roadside assistance ( that I've learned from passed experience is much better than AAA's) so, I didn't pay the bill and shredded the card. They charged my credit card anyway. I called, they saw that I wasn't on auto renewal and said they would credit my acct. the didn't. I called back when I learned this abd they said they can't as I don't have the card to return to them. Scam artists. read more

Been a AAA member for 20+ years and the past 3 times I have needed them for roadside assistance has been a nightmare. * Left me stranded with a motorcycle for 13 hrs - called at 8pm, finally got towed at 9am the next morning. * Dead battery, original ETA was 1 hr, finally arrived in 2 hrs * tow from my house to service station, original ETA was 1 hr, finally came after 5 hrs. AAA, a company that won't stand by it's values. Disappointed member of 7 years, that will not renew. Stranded alone in an airport economy parking lot during winter time for two hours only to be given the first update on my tow truck. After hearing that the tow truck would be another hour picking me up at 3:30am, I made the decision to take an Uber home. The next day, I am informed by a AAA tow truck driver that there was plenty of AAA tow trucks available that night and they chose not to pick me up because it was raining, I was parked at the airport, and they didn't think they would get a big tip! I was told by AAA Indianapolis that I may be reimbursed for the Uber Ride and the fee for an extra day of parking in the airport lot, but this was not true. However, I could've called another tow company to pick me up and that would have been reimbursable! Even though AAA is a national company, they are far from providing continuity and serving the same standards from club to club. When I was then shifted to talk to my home club, AAA Hudson Valley, they were unsympathetic and made excuses for their bad behavior. No attempt was made to uphold the values that AAA stands by nor any attempt to address my membership dissatisfaction. Maybe this is new standard of AAA. It's hard to see what your membership fee really pays for when you have to pay additional expenses all because of AAA's inadequate service. read more

I am writing to tell you about the WORST customer service experience I have ever had in any business dealing ever! I have been a AAA member for at least 15 years and probably longer. Since I was a commuter, I took the PLUS membership which allows for transports of 100 miles. Since March 1st, I have been trying to get car that I am buying transported 65 miles from Latham to Woodstock, NY. I made no less that 10 phone calls to both AAA of Hudson Valley and my home club, Northeast. My home club was willing to allow me to transport this vehicle, however, the AAA of Hudson Valley located in the Troy/Albany area was not. I was never told that the vehicle could not be transferred because it was broken down at a dealership. In fact, I traveled 60 miles each way to be with the car on Saturday, March 3rd, because I was told the transport would occur, only to be told that there was a "travel restriction" of 20 miles due to the snow the day before. Why wasn't I told this earlier, before I took this trip? Despite that, I agreed to a transport, which I was told would occur Monday, 3/5. When I called to make arrangements on Monday, I was told the transport would not be approved because it was not "an emergency" and AAA was for emergencies only. When I asked for a supervisor, I was put in touch with Mark, who was petulant, uncaring, robotic and not in the least interested in my plight or the fact that I have been a LOYAL customer for 15 years. I was upset that I was told so many different stories by so many people, and in the end the transfer would not be approved by Mark. He told me to pay for the tow myself, and perhaps my home Club would reimburse me. Curiously, my "Home Club" the AAA of Northeast approved the transfer, but yielded to Mark's domain, where the car was located. I have only good things to say about Cassandra, Natasha and others in my home Club of AAA Northeast. They got the idea of customer service, Mark didn't! I have cancelled my 15 year AAA membership as of today, 3/5 and will tell everyone I can that AAA just doesn't care about their customers. If they did, Mark would have found a way to keep a loyal customer who has paid membership fees for 15 years, in the fold. Bottom line is that if your situation doesn't fit a tidy box that they can check, you will not get AAA service for your annual membership. Hopefully, there are other transport/emergency services out there that are more caring and concerned, and are interested in my business! read more

Flat tire on 85 just before afternoon commute. My first flat tire in 15 years. Lady on phone was very polite and ensured she had all info necessary. Driver pulled up in 20 minutes. Driver did not want to try to plug the tire due to the dangerous traffic and I agreed. Installed the donut and I was on my way ten minutes later. Excellent! Driver's name was Sheldon, I think, and he looked like Adam Sandler only better looking - professional all the way. Thank you! read more

This specific AAA service has left me stranded with no ride 3 times. (Over the course of 2 years) As an military member I take this service as slap to the face. Very disapointed that they were offering the Seize the Deal for only New Memberships - what about the valued customers who have been members for many years, they can't get in on a discount when they should have the same price offered to them.
