The American Automobile Association or better known as triple A offers many benefits for its members and I've used them quite a few times over the years. For a dead car battery or flat tire, one roadside service call is all you'd need to pay for the annual membership fee. You get a monthly magazine that highlights benefit programs and interesting car and travel related articles. Besides the outside benefits, they also offer other services at their local offices. The AAA office on Hillside Ave has always served as a travel agency in additional to offering other services. In the past, I've booked trips (including my honeymoon) through them, but the internet these days just makes it so much easier and you don't even have to change out of your pajamas. There are still occasions that I will trek to this AAA office though. They offer discount tickets to theme parks like Disney World and Universal Studios as well as discount ticket vouchers to local movie theaters. And if you absolutely cannot figure out how to use the GPS map function or Yelp app on your brand new iPhone, you can still get quaint paper maps and tourist guide books for any state or city. I got a nice USA map to put on my wall to mark all the places we've visited. On a recent trip here, they even sell some nice quality luggage! There's limited parking in the back, but there's also metered street parking in the front if you need it. The worst called AAA to have my car towed to a repair shop my choice. Why did the tow truck driver towed my car to the wrong repair shop. Then drop my car key in the mail box and the shop is closed for the Holidays. Now I am going to have to wait until they reopen to get my car key. A dam shame AAA lost a customer. read more
