We had our car booked 5 minutes later. When we arrived in LA, our driver Ahmad texted me that he was waiting for us. Gave us his location and we found him immediately. Even at midnight, LA traffic was backed up and several freeways were either backed up because of reduced lanes or completely closed, but Ahmed was familiar with the area and expertly navigated us around and got us home safe and sound and super quick. Except I made a mistake with the original pick up time. I put 2:45 AM vs PM. My fault. I had a very hard time getting ahold of anyone. Skip to day of arrival. Of course our connecting flight was delayed. I messaged city captain to let them know we were going to be later than expected. Our original driver still showed up at the normal time and asked where we were. I told them that I contacted the company and the rescheduled for A little later. He told me to call him when we were out of baggage claim. In the meantime, I got a message that a different driver was on their way to pick us up at the new anticipated time. I let them know our original driver was waiting for us. I didn't hear anything back, so I Joe they cancelled that driver. We finally got picked up and dropped off at our hotel. Phew! The driver was super friendly and understanding when we apologized about the situation. Fast forward to scheduled pick up from hotel to be take to the airport at 4 Am. I was texted at 3:30 that our driver was on the way. I stood outside of the hotel until 4:05 when I called and said "hey we were supposed to be picked up at 4 and our driver isn't here" I don't think they remembered. You could see their car on the map that was not driving. Shortly after my call it started moving. 20 minutes late our driver showed up. Luckily we were able To navigate through the airport quickly to make our flight. I am not sure if these issues are normal? We have scheduled Ubers before at 4 AM and have never had an issue. I told the *owner* I wanted something more special than UBER, so I was contacting him to get a personal pick up, WRONG DECISION The car was a YARIS, and it had a HUGE wet stain in it and it was filthy. I was feeling anxious about the traffic and wanted to make sure to arrive early to meet friends. I decided to book a reliable ride service, instead of trying a ride share service. I requested quotes from different services though Yelp. I got an immediate response from Rami. His price was much lower than the other services who responded. When I called I got an exact quote and booked a ride. Rami was polite and assured that he would be at my home at the time I requested. I called on the morning of my flight to confirm my reservation. Rami reassured me that we would have plenty of time before my flight. He arrived early and called from my parking lot and said he would bring the car out front as soon as I was ready. Rami introduced himself and loaded my bags into the car. It was clean and we had a pleasant ride. We came upon an bad multi vehicle accident blocking lanes on Harbor Drive and ended up at a dead stop. Rami asked it I would like to process my payment while we waited for traffic to move to save time at the airport. That worked out great. We arrived at the airport in plenty of time despite the delay from the accident on the road. He offloaded my bags at the curb. Jason is that great combination of professional and friendly. As I approached his car, he immediately jumped out to help me in case my vision was at all impaired. I could actually see well enough not to be wobbly, but I appreciated his concern and actions. He drove me to the appointment, waited for me, and then drove me home. We had great conversations each way, and the price was actually more affordable than had I booked a separate Uber each way. The car was beautifully maintained, the ride was smooth, the communication setting up the appointment and letting me know he was on the way were all perfect. I told Jason I had been keeping an eye on his ads and social media posts for a while, knowing I was reaching a phase of life where family was no longer close by, and friends were not always available to help out with transportation if I couldn't drive myself. Of the many local drivers I've seen recommended on social media, I was impressed that Jason is open to driving clients to medical appointments and social events, not just airport destinations. It is important to me that Jason has commercial insurance and this is his full-time business -- many drivers are not as appropriately insured and may only be driving as a side gig. I honestly feel like a burden has been lifted off of me, knowing that I can turn to Jason for future medical or other appointments.
