We booked City Captain Transportation since we were traveling to San Diego with our 2.5 year old and did not want to lug a car seat through the airports. Booking was good. Except I made a mistake with the original pick up time. I put 2:45 AM vs PM. My fault. I had a very hard time getting ahold of anyone. (Email on website didn't work) calling they told me to email this was 15 minutes or less after booking. Finally I called the next morning and got someone. Luckily they were able to change it for me. Skip to day of arrival. Of course our connecting flight was delayed. I messaged city captain to let them know we were going to be later than expected. Our original driver still showed up at the normal time and asked where we were. I told them that I contacted the company and the rescheduled for A little later. He told me to call him when we were out of baggage claim. In the meantime, I got a message that a different driver was on their way to pick us up at the new anticipated time. I let them know our original driver was waiting for us. I didn't hear anything back, so I Joe they cancelled that driver. We finally got picked up and dropped off at our hotel. Phew! The driver was super friendly and understanding when we apologized about the situation. Fast forward to scheduled pick up from hotel to be take to the airport at 4 Am. I was texted at 3:30 that our driver was on the way. I stood outside of the hotel until 4:05 when I called and said "hey we were supposed to be picked up at 4 and our driver isn't here" I don't think they remembered. You could see their car on the map that was not driving. Shortly after my call it started moving. 20 minutes late our driver showed up. Luckily we were able To navigate through the airport quickly to make our flight. I am not sure if these issues are normal? We have scheduled Ubers before at 4 AM and have never had an issue. So It's weird that with a premium car service this would happen. I don't know. Everyone we had Contact with was friendly though. read more

Probably the worst transportation service ever. Traveling with a toddler is hard enough as is. Our driver Jonas didn't arrive until 40 minutes after our set pick up time, empty tank, texting and driving, different car than originally confirmed. For someone who used to live in the SD area, the cell phone parking isn't far from the terminals. Could've just owned up to it that he was running late. We had a connecting flight in TJ and missed it. Called to complain, but clearly they keep claiming that he was in the cell parking. read more

It was very easy to book and communication during booking was very good. Our driver was on time and called and texted to let us know he was on the way. He was even able to change our pickup location last minute. We ordered the Tesla for our wedding and it was very clean and the driver was very courteous. The only issue I ran into was calling 2 days beforehand to confirm everything. They did not answer, email or call back. I booked a daddy-daughter weekend at Legoland for my son and granddaughter for the holidays. I was referred to a car service for transport to/from the airport with the expectation that they could take Lyft around town and to/from Legoland. I booked the car with another company. Then, my family got stuck at the hotel when they discovered Lyft and Uber don't have offer car seats or booster seats except in NYC. We called Peter, our driver from the other other car service, and he referred us to Yosief at City Captain. I was surprised that a competitor in the area would speak so highly of his rival, but this speaks volumes of how nice both of them are, even to each other! I was impressed with Peter, and I trusted him completely, and when I spoke with Yosief, I felt so relieved. City Captain responded with immediate help. Yosief and Greg were the most gracious and generous people. They gave me special consideration since I had planned the trip for my family from out of the area. Their benevolence made the difference between a 'weekend disaster' and 'weekend to remember.' Late update from 2022. Was able to use City captain again for their sprinter airport transfer service with our family group of 12 this time. Another round trip. The driver came again earlier than the booked time and attached the car seats for us and loaded up the sprinter. The vehicle was very clean and the driver was very cautious. No issues and again a smooth transaction with no hidden fees or up charges. Coming back from a trip, our flight was delayed past midnight and luggage took forever to obtain. This time Jonas came on time again still with a big smile at about 1am while cracking jokes. Great personality and cared and took pride in his work. I recently used City Captain Transportation for the first time for an airport transfer from San Diego Airport to my conference hotel. The driver was courteous, and the ride itself was smooth, which I appreciated. However, I requested and paid an additional $45 for the Meet & Greet Service, which I did not receive. Instead, I was picked up outside where all standard pickups occur. I reached out twice to rectify the billing but have received no response--quite surprising, considering they were very responsive before booking. Charging a client for a service they did not provide and then ignoring follow-ups reflects poor integrity, which is why I would not use them again in the future. read more

This car service went above and beyond for our large group. We had to constantly revise the headcount (due to external changes) and they happily made these revisions each and every time. On our return flight, we had two fights landing within 5 min of each other set to take the same shuttle. We have used this company a small handful of times but will not do so again. Last time we tried to use them they were supposed to pick us up at 5am in order to get us to the airport in time for our flight. I did not receive a text from the driver prior to our pickup time so I texted him as instructed by the automated text I received from the company. I also tried calling him, but no answer. I called the dispatch and also the call was not answered so I left a message. Time passed and we were getting nervous and it was past the pickup time. I could not get an Uber or Lyft at that hour. Finally by some stroke of luck I secured a taxi cab that was close by. Old school Yellow Cab saved the day. I realize that our pickup was super early, but if you don't want to take customers at that hour, don't take them! If you confirm our trip and state that you will make the pickup, you need to make the pickup. So here comes the icing on the cake... We are at the airport waiting to board and I text the driver asking them to please instruct the company to refund our trip cost. Driver writes back that he's sorry, that he was at the gate (to our community) but that the gate code I gave him wasn't working. He sends me a picture of the gate guard house stating that there is no guard there to open the gate for him. Funny thing is that the Yellow Cab got in the gate with the code first try, no problem. Also by the time we left our community there was no other car outside the gate and it was still pitch black as night. This driver's picture is clearly after the sun came up. So he shows up a full hour and a half late from the pickup time (WHY?), and has the nerve to try to gaslight us? Simply amazing. A tip to you people: Instead of trying to gaslight your customers with weak and obviously false statements, just take responsibility. It will go a lot further, I promise you. This was just adding insult to injury. Anyway, we will not be using them ever again. Avoid this company. read more

I will say, for it being last minute, they provided an EXCELLENT service. We flew out of Tijuana and used the Cross Border X. We had planned on driving ourselves and paying for the parking but there weren't any spots left to reserve. Given, we procrastinated. I asked a coworker about the situation and recommended this place. She said they always use this service when traveling and it's affordable and always gets nice new clean and large vehicles. So after going online and made a reservation, it was not affordable at all. That being said, I told my coworker who recommended I call. So I did and the owner asked me a few questions and provided me with a decreased quote. Due to the circumstances, I agreed. We would have ended up paying the same amount or more if we drove and parked ourselves. Now the day came and it was time to leave. The driver called and asked if they can pick up earlier because they are ahead of schedule. Impressed I said sure. And it was only 15 minutes early so why not. Plus, it was our first time using Cross Border X and never flew out of Tijuana so it just gave us more time. The driver asked if we wanted anything specific to drink while on our ride. I said Bubbly (aka champagne). That was a nice extra perk and unexpected. That being said, when the driver picked us up, he opened and closed all doors for us, grabbed all of our luggage securely and made sure we were satisfied. I must say, I was happy and impressed. But here's where it gets literal and also the best part. So we did a round trip so when we returned late at night, we were still picked up with same service. And when we checked our bank statement, the owner actually charged us less than what he quoted us by an additional $50!! Both drivers were different but provided bubbly as requested...but the carbonated water drink Bubbly!!! Hahahahaha...so funny but it was fine and glad it was there to sip on even if no alcohol. We traveled with my kid the first time he was 3 months old, and they made sure to have the right car seat, and on the way back, they even upgraded our car. On the second time, I asked for the escalade, and it was so comfy and clean. The driver doesn't bother you much he gives us the space which we like. They've been on time and very responsive.
