I had some trouble with my car (have to be vague for certain reasons) so I called him, and even though it was his day off and he was hanging out with his friend, he took the time to go home, get on his computer, and sort out the issue I was having. I was seriously in arrears in my car registration payments. The AAA branch could not waive the late fees, but she explained in much detail and in very friendly manner how to avoid them in the future. I came here instead of DMV as they offer some DMV services. The good - they were very friendly and there was no wait to be helped. The place is comfortable and relaxing unlink the immediate stress at DMV. The bad - once I was helped the agent spent the first 5 minutes trying to up sell me on other AAA services. I think she was following a script or checklist and it was a bit off putting. Overall though - way easier than DMV - though be sure to check in advance what service you need as they don't do all the DMV stuff. read more

Great service and beautiful office. Came in, registered at the front, and was able to sit and work while waiting about 5 mins to be helped. At my other branch in San Mateo, I've stood in the DMV line for over an hour since they don't have a queue system. Was able to transfer title, renew my membership, add a member, and complete required paperwork in 15 mins start to finish. This is why I pay for AAA! Also got s free cup of keurig coffee. I recently went to this AAA office for a DMV transaction. From the time I walked to the door the customer service far surpassed any AAA experience I've ever had! When I got to the door I realized that I had left something in my vehicle. I turned around and by the time I took two or three steps a woman was popping open the door asking if I needed help. How kind was that!! I informed her that I left an item in my car and with a bright smile she said okay, I was just checking. Wow! From that point on everyone was so kind, professional and attentive. I will definitely utilize this service again should the need arise. That experience right there made my whole membership worth it!! Forgot to mention, my DMV transaction took less than 10 minutes. Don't ever buy or purchase car battery on AAA. They are a big scammer. If something goes wrong with it and they don't put a new battery but only a recondition or refurbish one. And they claim its brand new. We called them to come and fix and its supposed to be under warranty and only one month ago bought from them. Understaffed and slow. Apparently this location is almost entirely staffed to support insurance and doesn't care about member services. Three only agent here for member services has been selling roadside assistance to a single customer for the last twenty minutes as the queue waiting just gets longer and longer. If you need service, avoid the Menlo Park office. read more

I called to AAA company to request for jumping! They told me if I don't have a membership they will not service me. I said ok, then open me membership. They told me that I can not use my membership for 7 days and they said that they will transfer me to another operator that will help me. Then new operator said me exactly the same thing that previous operator. They were transferring me to 5-6 operators, then last operator just drop the phone off. They peace me off. read more

I worked with this AAA before the branch is relocated from downtown Palo Alto to Menlo Park. The branch used to be great - responsive staff, reasonable insurance premium and friendly service. Nowadays I can barely get hold of my insurance agent for both insurance payment and renewal quote. When I was trying to pay for my renter's insurance this August, I sent an email to schedule a phone conversation so that I can pay my bill via the phone to save some time and effort to visit a local branch. But unfortunately no response at all - I ended up joining the long line in a SF AAA branch. This time when I am about to renew my auto insurance, I reached out again to obtain an updated quote - no response for days before his assistant sent me the renewal quote with higher and higher premiums year after year. I replied back to try to get more sense about the quote, especially why the price goes up again despite the fact that I have no claims of any sort or any traffic violations and my car is in great shape. Guess what? No response from them at all for over a week... I am not happy with my experiences at all and I will not be renewing with AAA this time. read more

Someone mentioned to me that I should try using AAA instead of going in to the DMV to do a title transfer. I'd forgotten about this benefit and was hopeful it would be quicker and more convenient than the extended wait I knew would await me at the DMV. This location doesn't have the best parking situation (though it's okay), but everything else was great. The office is very clean and modern. Could maybe use a few more chairs for waiting, but overall is excellent. The front door staff was helpful without being pushy and got me on the waiting list right away. While there was a bit of a wait (probably 20-25 minutes in the end), that was far better than showing up at the DMV was going to be, and it was much more pleasant. When my name was called, the agent was very helpful and informative, taking care of all the paperwork with little hassle. It turned out that I was actually short a form, but she still completed the application provisionally and let me know where I could go to get the final paperwork and that they were open on Saturdays if I wanted to stop in the next day. I ended up being able to get back to the AAA that same day, and both the greeter and the agent remembered me and got me all set and squared away. If you can get your DMV service handled at an AAA, I highly recommend it. And if you happen to be close by the Menlo Park office, you'll be well taken care of. read more

This office is terrible. It is not just one agent. I have had my insurance through AAA for more than 15 years and have never used it. I recently wanted to increase my coverage so came in. The first agent never followed through with my request. The second agent never emailed me back after my request was processed. I came in today and had to wait over 30 minutes to make a payment as I needed a receipt. Honestly the service is horrific even when you are trying to give these people money! I can only imagine how bad it is if you actually have a claim. I am going to look into other options for coverage for my home and auto. read more

There's nothing worse than a paperwork problem with a car. This one had an Oregon title and a California registration. Why, I'll go to AAA, they'll solve it. AAA that easy-to-get-to office in Palo Alto is now in Menlo Park and is not so easy to get to. But, the same nice guy is at the door to steer you in the right direction. The DMV desk is inadequately staffed with inadequate people who are poorly managed. On the second trip we were told that the folks at AAA could not solve the problem, and to go to the DMV.
