AAA is a blessing. I can not recommend enough just about any service you can done at your local AAA. I was able to get my license renewed in the matter of minutes whereas the dmv is an hour minimum. The staffing is always super pleasant and happy to serve, unlike most DMV employees. If I never have to go to another dmv in my life it would be one of my all time greatest life accomplishments! Wasted my time by refusing to give me a quote over the phone and insisting I come into the office. Then made me wait because the agent wasnt ready to see me when I arrived - on time. Finally, told me that they could do Homeowners insurance because the home was i a historic district. Wasted an hour of my life. Do not recommend. read more

I had to renew my DL this year and stopped into the AAA office in Waterford last week and had a pretty good experience. There was no line, the staff was friendly and I got my DL renewed and a new picture for my passport renewal in under 15 mins. The staff was friendly and professional. The location is clean, fees for these services are reasonable and there is plenty of parking. The only minor complaint I have is that I had also wanted to renew my AAA membership but because that's not my home AAA they can't process that there. That's not a complaint against them because that would be a problem at any other AAA office that isn't considered my "home" club. The woman who explained this to me was very polite and felt bad she couldn't process that for me. All in all a good experience and I'll definitely go there again. read more

If you need to get a new license because yours is expiring, this is the place to go where the are very little to no line waits and little to no stress in doing the transaction. Staff are all friendly and helpful, explaining anything you have questions on. Unlike going to the DMV where there are long lines! If you are a AAA member, recommend you use them to help plan your trip. They don't give you a GPS but they do have the good old fashioned maps. read more

AAA Waterford was WONDERFUL when I locked my keys in the car. However, six months into my annual membership, I purchased a new car that came with full roadside service. I tried to cancel my AAA membership, and they wouldn't let me. SIX MONTHS into an annual membership, and they refused to refund the difference. NEVER will I subscribe to AAA again - a ripoff for sure! read more

It was AWFUL. I called for roadside assistance for a flat tire at 12AM and was told someone would be arrive within 2 hours. At 2:04AM I logged in to check status and it said my request had been completed. I called back and asked what happened and the person told me they didn't know why it was being marked as completed. The said they would put in a new request and that I should expect someone to arrive within 2 hours. When I voiced my displeasure they said they would mark this request as urgent. Another hour went by and when I logged in to check the status it AGAIN was appearing as completed. I called back AGAIN and the person said they would look into why this was happening. They told me they would call me back. About 20 minutes later they call me back and tell me that there is no overnight person and that they cannot reach the on call person. They proceeded to tell me that I wouldn't be able to get roadside assistance until the next shift which would start at 7:30 AM and most likely would get someone out to me around 8:00 AM and that wasn't even guaranteed. Due to my schedule I couldn't afford to wait until after 7:30 AM for roadside assistance as I was over an hour away from my home and with morning rush hour traffic I wouldn't get home until even later. I asked if I would be reimbursed if I took a cab home and was told that I would be given a $20 voucher but would have to file an appeal to POSSIBLY get reimbursement for the balance. The Lyft was approx $100 by the way. So I ended up taking the Lyft home around 4:00AM and my car was towed back to my house later that morning. Fortunately i pay for the premium roadside assistance and it was under 100 miles or AAA would have charged for the tow. What pisses me off is that I made the request at 12:00 AM, which is the overnight shift and they knew damn well that they didn't have an overnight crew for whatever reason. I could have taken a cab home then and there but instead ended up waiting until 4:00AM, 4 HOURS, for no good reason. More importantly, how can you sell 24/7 roadside assistance, which isn't cheap btw, and then not provide it and on top of that have the audacity to allow the client to incur additional expenses?! read more

I needed to renew my license and didn't want to face the hell that is DMV, so I went to this AAA. I was in and out in under 12 minutes and for a cost of $5 -- which is SO, SO worth it compared to the 3-5 hours I would have spent waiting at the DMV. For reference, I went on a Wednesday sometime between 1 - 1:30. Customer Service was 5 star. I was greeted when I walked in and acknowledged while I waited in line ("we'll be with you shortly" & genuine smile). The wait was brief, maybe 5 minutes tops but probably more like 3. They had an efficient process set up, with different people assigned to different tasks (sign in w/ documentation area & pay $5 AAA fee; photo taken area; and pay the state of CT area). There were several seats available for those of us waiting our turn at the photo area. Like I said, it was very efficient. It was so efficient that I didn't even get to take out and play my 3DS... which was my plan for how to kill time. My husband and I have been considering getting AAA for a while now. My experience a couple weeks ago with my license basically made me decide we should get AAA. That's on my to-do list now. Seriously, thank you AAA for saving me so much time & hassle & stress, and thanks for being friendly & efficient. It feels like it's so hard to come by anymore. read more

Poor attitude with some employees in the Waterford branch...in a rush to get out of work. I spoke regional manager in West Hartford and she really did not seem genuine or interested at all (another poor attitude I could almost feel her body language over the phone with a sigh like I was wasting her time), rather just to give me a gift card to placate me...Very Sad that Triple A has come to this...they used to to have great costumer service representatives who cared read more

I went to AAA because I lost my license and needed a new duplicate. The agent was very friendly and helpful. I recently moved so I needed the address changed on my license, I wrote the correct address on the info card I was given at arrival and verbally told her the correct address. The first copy I was given to sign had my old address so I told her my correct address again so it could be changed. The second time it looked like my correct address so I signed, however it wasn't until I got all the way home that I realized she never changed the town. The next day I went back to get the mistake rectified and I was told I would have to pay the 30 dollar fee again because I had signed off on it. The agent made me feel like it was my fault that the mistake was made and I would have to pay for the incompetence of the AAA employee. A very stressful time for me was made worse by this asinine policy of AAA blaming the customer for the mistakes of their agents. They could have at least reimbursed me for the convenience fee of 8 dollars because of how inconvenient it was for me. If you come here just be careful and pay close attention to the information before signing, it may be a scam for AAA to make more money off of people or an honest mistake, either way I would have rather gone to the DMV than go through this trouble. read more
