Ok, but I think I might have to go back and order differently, because I didn't leave feeling nearly as WOWED as everyone else here seemed to be. After AGES of planning to try this place, I finally convinced the Mr. that we should give it a try on a sunny Saturday late afternoon/early evening. We placed our orders (several items not available, but that's understandable; it's a HUGE menu for a food truck!!) and waited about 20-30 minutes in the shared outdoor dining area adjacent to Corner Cone. Our meals were both "fine," but about 80-90% rice. The side orders of na'an and two samosas were a good break from the rice. Not bad, not great-- I've had Indian food before, but since was the (finicky) Mr's first try, he "could take it or leave it..." I was pleasantly surprised by Aahar India. It's a food truck next to the ice cream place. There is a big menu for a truck. It has plenty of vegetarian options and while some items are pricey, a lot are comparable in cost to food at other Indian restaurants. The service is not fast because it's made fresh, but call ahead and you won't have that problem. I think it's the best Indian place in the area. The entrees are about $12 to $15. It's not cheap but the food is better than others around. It has all the traditional items. The vegan items are marked and many others can be made by substitutes. Aloo ghobi is cauliflower and potatoes. This is a hearty meal and is mildly spicy. Baingan bhartha is eggplant with rice and spices. The eggplant is spicy and tender. The mango juice is good with anything. It also has stikunjee an Indian lemonade. It has no seats but you can sit at the ice cream place. The service is pretty slow because they make everything to order. It's recommended to call ahead. There's usually only the owner there working on everything himself but he will make everything with care and is helpful with making choices if you're not sure. I will come here again next time around. It's best to call ahead so you can eat right away. The lunch specials also will help save and you can get meals for two people that's a value. read more

Once you have this food, sold from a house trailer, permanently situated on a parking lot, you will abandon those "authentic" Indian restaurants & buffets filled with leftover, dry and boring offerings. Guaranteed. Hands down, this is some of the best Indian food anywhere. This is a one man operation. He is a total character. Part salesman, part showman & part chef, he is full of personality. A lot is made to order. Call ahead, or expect to wait 20 minutes. You can cool your heels at the nearby brewery, ice cream shop or street bench. The menu is an extensive mix of both northern and southern fares. Samosas, pakora, lentils, eggplant, curries, Indian breads are all above average. The lamb, chunks of it, is never failing tender. The complex mix of spices in the dishes are spot on and shine through, never allowing any heat to be overpowering. Highly recommend the #49 special platter for 2. Ok, so, this place is a gem. It started with a phone call. I saw that they were open until 9pm but didn't want to show up at 8:30pm when they were trying to wind down. In a thick India accent he said "of course you come, 8:30 is not 9". We rushed over to find the coolest little "real food" permanently-parked travel trailer. This is the best Indian food I've ever had. The owner is amazing to chat with, and the food is absolutely divine beyond my wildest expectations. When my boyfriend suggested we get food truck Indian, my expectations were super low. But then I learned that Akhilesh makes everything from scratch to order, so I recommend that you call in your order then go pick it up. We got chicken tikka masala, and he asked if we wanted any vegetables added, so we had spinach. Coupled with the pakora (gluten free! chickpea flour!), it was a spectacular meal. Generous portions too! The second visit was on my boyfriend's birthday. We got chicken tikka masala again and chicken 65. the tikka masala is a little sweet and the chicken 65 is more savory-- both amazing again and totally a ton of food. I ordered the chicken tikka masala - exceptional; had a little kick, perfect texture, and the chicken was super tender. Along with the tikka, of course, I ordered some garlic naan - the perfect medium to soak up the sauce. The whole dish burst with flavors. My mouth and tummy were happy! Be SURE to order mango juice (or a mango lassi, the owner did not have all the ingredients for a mango lassi when I placed my order but no matter,) it is as fresh as fresh gets. I live in Yellow Springs and this is THE place to stop and pick up Indian food. The owner/chef is super friendly and always happy to offer suggestions if you're not sure what you want. I always ask him to make it extra spicy otherwise it might be a little bland (but I like it spicy) so your tastes might be different. Either way, he is happy to make you whatever you like, he even serves vegan entrees. He makes a yummy spinach dal! There's not a place to sit down and eat. It's take-out only! Orders take around 20 minutes to complete, so I always wander to one of the nearby establishments to have a drink while I wait for my food. Whenever my family comes to visit we always grab a sampler platter. Portion sizes are generous and I haven't had anything off his menu that I don't like. read more

Owner was fabulous, huge personality, and will customize anything on the menu for you. He was very excited to explain everything, and we saw some things on the menu we'd never had before. My absolute favorite was the chaat, a GF chickpea flour appetizer - that could easily be a meal - that he customized with spinach and cheese for us. It is topped with yogurt and a tamarind sauce. Blown away at how good this was. I had the lamb biryani with veggies, it was well seasoned and I liked the yogurt and crunchies on the side, although it was light on the lamb. I really dug hubby's okra with red sauce (can't remember name), was the owners favorite dish, and he was stoked we ordered. It was a ton of food, and it was ready in 30 minutes. This is a great little place! The owner is very friendly and will give you lots of different suggestions, great since I've never been here before and am not familiar with Indian food! I had the lentil naan and the jackfruit curry with okra samosas! The naan with the jackfruit curry was great! Curry had great spice and it came with rice. It was hard though so I didn't eat the rice - I was perfectly happy to use the naan instead of rice! Jackfruit was like eating meatballs - large portions of food in the order too! The samosa was good - tasty insides, hot and fresh. I was quite happy. I'm hoping to try another curry with better rice in the future. This place was okay, we ordered then walked around for about 20 minutes then came back when they said the food would be ready. The food comes in to go boxes, so you can do that or sit in the ice cream's shop covered seating area. The cook had trouble finding us sitting in the ice cream stores covered seating area... which to me seamed like the obvious place to sit. Plus the ice cream shop has free WiFi! The food was all right not the best I have had. The vindaloo curry seamed really greasy, especially since the slogan on the trucks sign says " we always keep nutrition in mind". Seemed a little over priced for a food truck, but not for Indian food in general. I'd go back but make sure to go for the lunch specials, which are only during the week. There is no seating outside but you can either take the food to-go (the owner hands it out in nice portable containers) or if its nice out you can sit on one of the picnic tables outside corner cones. The food is $10-15 a plate, which is typical of Indian cuisine. During the weekday, they offer specials to make for a more affordable lunch. The food is flavorful... nothing particularly stand out, but the portions are large and filling. The food is spicy (even if ordered mild) and the owner only sells bottled water. A tiny food truck/trailer in the small, out of the way town of Yellow Springs, OH. (Where?) On our way back home, we decided to stay in this quaint, and strangely progressive, hamlet. Across the way from our B&B was this teenie food truck thing tucked back in a small parking lot. After asking a local about it, we gave it a try. The owner and cook was a delightful gentleman who obviously has a passion for his food. The menu had items we'd never heard of despite being avid Indian food fans, so we were really impressed. He will make anything you want, however you want it, as long as he has the ingredients. So don't be afraid to be creative. Just ask! He makes the food just like one would at home. You MUST try the chaat. Great cool (gluten free) appetizer. We had the spinach and cheese one and were blown away. My wife had the lamb biryani with veggies and paneer. It was a mound of food perfectly seasoned (not too hot for the white folks) with a side of yogurt to temper the spice. If your a veggie person, ask for his okra dish. He said it's his favorite. And it showed. I loved it. Good depth of flavor with a generous helping of basmati rice. We were pleasantly stuffed. The owner was great to chat with and thoughtfully answered any questions we had.
