My interaction started with Amy, she's Gary's (the owner) assistant and she was amazing. I live in JAX but We had to get the truck fixed in Georgia because that's where it was stuck. We corresponded with them for two weeks before traveling to pick up the truck and I must admit that I was nervous. The truck was going through final inspections when we arrived but the lobby was a great distraction. All around the wall you find antiques, states and old memorabilia. Chargers throughout and a rocking chair, tv, water/coffee for your pleasure. Gary was the force and Amy was the fuel, I thought she had been there for years and actually it hadn't even been a year. I've had interactions with a handful of AAMCOS and this one by far was the best. They have a warranty at AAMCO and we haven't had to use it because the truck is still running great. THREE DAYS AND $200 FOR NOTHING. Brought my Yukon in, requested a transmission filter and fluid change (Yukon had a KNOWN engine misfire, I stated I would address the misfire). The service on the transmission was NOT done and the KNOWN misfire was "diagnosed". If this was the last service place on earth, I'd buy a bicycle! read more

He kept my car far longer than he needed to and basically held it hostage, saying I needed a new engine worth thousands of dollars. Baloney. Jennifer at AAMCO as well as Gary (on the phone) were very sympathetic with me and my situation regarding my Impala. Turns out it needs a new catalytic converter, oil change (knew that) and a tune up but possibly more because of a potential injection issue. That being said, $1800 on a $2000 car was not sitting well with my boyfriend and he decided to go another way. It is currently in the parking lot across the street and I am hoping to get it Wednesday. What makes this place (to me) customer-oriented is that they are offering to give me a jump for free (battery is all the way dead, less than 2 years old). My only problem is I can't get a ride there. They have been very kind to me and very patient with me. I have used AAMCO many years ago to put a transmission in my Equinox and was completely satisfied (this was near Henry County). So I have no problem recommending them, although I would have liked to have had them service my car but, boyfriend is going another direction. read more

I found myself in a very serious situation when the transmission in my 2018 Lincoln navigator started leaking and error. Lights covered my dashboard. I googled transmission repair and got the location of an AAMCO dealer in Macon Georgia. Called made an appointment and drove over there to drop off the car. They agreed to look at it and call me with their recommended solution. It was very nice to deal with people who were concerned about the repairs needed to my car. when they called and told me that the transmission needed to be replaced, I was surprised, but authorized the repair. About four business days later I got a phone call saying the car was ready and I drove to Macon to pick it up. Unfortunately, on my way home the transmission started leaking again and when I called AAMCO, they told me to bring it right back and they would get to work on it. at that particular point, we discussed the challenges of the transmission in my Lincoln and he advised me of a class action lawsuit against Ford over the problems with this particular transmission. They replaced it again and I just picked it up today and drove it home and it was like a brand new car. Not only was my car fixed. I got to meet and deal with people that I will definitely do business with again. I found them professional, and extremely helpful and not only the repairs, but also helping me understand the problem better. All I wanted was a price estimate on a specific task but they won't even tell me a price on a job which I clearly outlined the specifics of. I reside in Tampa, Florida and my daughter attends Mercer University. This past year she had some transmission issues and I had the car towed to Aamco. Received the bad news that it would need an entirely new transmission...over $2k to repair. Instead of just taking my money and doing the job, manager did some extra research and found that this vehicle was eligible for a totally new transmission from the manufacturer due to a recall. We had the vehicle towed to the dealer in Macon and it did not cost me a penny! Very appreciative for the honesty and integrity of the folks at Aamco and highly recommend! read more

Contacted AAMCO on March 13th about getting my car repaired due to leak /was advised that they would check the car and call me back. Did not hear from them for a week so I called and he said they had not finish inspecting the car/ call the following week on Thursday and was told that parts had to be ordered for the power steering leak and the tie rods was quoted a price of a little over $1500 which I agreed to. They never told me that the handle on my car was broken on the inside or that my mirror was broken. Called the next week and my car was still not ready and I was told that the parts were in and they were going to start installing. No news on my car for another week and when I call they say it will be a couple of days. We are in the month of April and my car is not ready so my son called and they said that they were taking their time because the car is old and they don't want to break anything but it will be ready in a couple of days and they will call me. No call / my son came in town today April 11th and we go over to the shop because I think they have broken something on my car and sure enough they have / the owner kept saying that they received it that way and I ask why they didn't say anything to me about it / he said it's plastic and the Car is old and these things can happen / advised him that I was not going to pay him to fix something that they broke/ he continued to say the car was received that way but could not explain why they didn't tell me / keep in mind my car was not ready when I got there either /my son and I went there the next day April 12 paid them for the work they did and advised that I was filing a claim against them for the damage / my son and I pulled off and when he turned the corner the driver's side mirror closed/ it was broken / I called them and told them what happen and the owner once again said it was like that when we received it / advised that the young man at the counter never mentioned anything about the mirror being broken at all and it was not listed on the inspection report they gave me/ he said they have that on a different report / ask why it would not be disclosed to me he had no response. I went to them because I trusted them / they kept my car for a month and gave it back to me damaged. PART 2 Owner contacted me on May 8th and offered a resolution. He 1st ask if I was planning to fix the outside handle myself and I said yes that I was doing the repair myself. He said that he would just repair both the inside and outside handle. I then ask about the mirror on the drivers side which was damaged as well while at his shop and he said that he would take a look at that too. I advised him that I would have to drop the vehicle off on a Monday or Tuesday of the following week because I was busy with my son's graduation. He said that was fine and that car was left at his shop on May 14th. He contacted me after several calls to see if he had repaired the car and said that they had taken the door apart and that the piece inside was broken because the window was let down and the pressure from that had broken it/he went on to say that they also viewed my mirrors and they both had the same issue normal wear and tear so I ask why did they take the passenger mirror apart when they were not ask to and he replied that they both came to him broken. He then said that I had to pay $700 + to repair the damage that they did and. I ask that he leave the vehicle as is and I would pick it up. He said that I would have to sign a paper stating that he did not damage the vehicle before he would release it which he never mentioned before he had me bring it in/ He has refuse to give the vehicle back unless I remove statements made about his company and sign papers saying he did not damage the car. read more

From Illinois heading to Florida. Got to hotel in Macon GA and backed my Lincoln into parking spot and the suv was not wanting to move in reverse. AAMCO was close to our hotel called them and they said bring it over in the morning and they would look at it. Barely got the vehicle to there shop. They were short handed that day but with some encouraging I got them to look at it and they diagnosed that I blew a tranny coolant line fitting. They said I lost approximately 4 to 5 qts of tranny oil. They said keep your fingers crossed, they'd put the fitting on and put the 5 qts of oil in it, take it for a test ride and see how it goes. Within 2 hours they had it replaced the fitting and oil, took it for a test ride. Everything was good to go. I was ecstatic, I gave them a nice tip they were reluctant to take, but I insisted. Good people and a really good garage. Played with the Doberman pup they had at the shop while we waited. Really cool waiting area in there shop. They rock !! read more
