Customer beware: I recently had my check engine light come…read moreon in my 2022 VW Tiguan. AutoZone ran a scan and told me it was related to the EVAP system. I then took my vehicle to Precision Tune Auto Care for a diagnosis, but instead of addressing the EVAP issue, they told me I needed new spark plugs. I agreed to the work, but before I even left their shop, the check engine light came back on. When I returned immediately, they scanned the car again and admitted the code was still for the EVAP system, not spark plugs. The manager "giggled" the gas cap, cleared the code, and sent me on my way. The next morning, the check engine light was back on. I then went to a different shop (Riddle), where they were honest and transparent. They confirmed that the issue was in fact the EVAP system, and even informed me that VW may cover the repair at no cost. When I went back to Precision Tune, they handed me the spark plugs they supposedly replaced, but could not provide any proof from their scanner that my car ever showed a spark plug-related code. This experience left me feeling that this business is not trustworthy. They charged me for unnecessary repairs and failed to fix the actual problem. Please beware when considering this location for your automotive needs.

Well... a couple days later it was no longer blowing cold after they had added the Freon. I took it in this morning and they told me that my compressor needed to be replaced and it was leaking. My problem is I spent $250 for them to do some hundred dollar evaluation for what? and charge me 149 for Freon.I'm out $250 because they have no way to check for the leak before adding the Freon and then if it leaks out you're just out of luck. I asked them why that's the way they did things and why not check for the leak beforehand and before adding Freon so it doesn't get wasted and they said because they don't have the equipment to do it the way other places do so what I wanna know is why are they doing it then? Why not tell the customer these things beforehand like hey you might be out $250 if you do have a leak but we have no way to tell you that until you spend the $250 so it's OK to take a customer's $250 and basically watch it fly out the window?I guess so. I was then told it would be $1700 for a new compressor. I will not be back.EVER!

They diagnosed the issue as being a dead battery, and quoted me over the phone for $500 and change. However, this is the first car mechanic I've heard of, much less done business with, to charge the diagnostic separately from their parts and labor on fixing the problem, rather than as a minimum final price. A week and change after this, I took the vehicle for a routine oil change, which couldn't be done because the lever to unlatch the hood didn't work. Since the hood obviously unlatched to change the battery, I called to ask about the repair under warranty, to which the official response was that the hood did unlatch, and there was nothing wrong with the lever, they definitely would have made a note if they'd had an issue. So it's not their problem. I find this claim more than a little questionable, given that the last time the hood unlatched properly was while the car was out of my hands, and I have only the word of unsigned paperwork that Pro Automotive couldn't have known about it. Expensive, shady quoting, and don't stand by their work if they can help it. Go elsewhere.

I knew it shouldn't take more than an hour and that's being kind. Unfortunately, I knew I was in trouble when I saw it was the same slow moving tech jump in my truck to get started. The same one it took 4 to service previously. Well, we're into hour 2 here with no end in sight. It's just a dang an oil change and simply move the back tires to the front and vice versa. Why does it take 2+ hours??? If it wasn't a fleet vehicle I'd get it ALL DONE in my driveway in less than a half hour. Maybe it's time to start a bonus plan on how many tickets they get done in a day. The current structure can't be good for business. Or possibly move the slow moving tech into the showroom. He's costing you money. My next service will be anywhere but here!!!!
