Had a great experience here. Our van was having transmission issues as we were passing through on a road trip. Brought it in to get diagnosed and to see if it could be fixed in a day or two. The team here was very honest and did diagnostic work to try and find the issue (trans cooling issue). In order to find the problem they said they would have to pull the transmission that is under warranty at a shop in CA. I decided to take it back to the other shop because of the warranty. The guys here did a good job of communicating what was going on and I only paid for the couple of things they did. read more

It's all the same- spend a lot of money, pick up your car, car breaks down, you bring it back and it sits at their garage for WEEKS with zero communication and promises that the car is almost ready (when you call, they'll never call you). I hate that I took my car there in the first place. It's back for the 3rd time (since I have a warranty) and has been there for over a week. If I could give ZERO STARS I would. Very disrespectful people work here. Don't know what they think they're doing but fixing automobiles is not one of them. Rude to anyone who walks through the door. I was waiting to see someone on a repair and a tow truck driver comes in and is greeted by "what the ---- do you want?" The tow driver walks out and drops the car in the parking lot. The mgr (Dave)then starts yelling at him saying that was not where he wanted it,( hurling insults and profanities). The tow driver stated "then learn how to talk to someone who is bringing you business". The mgr even threatened him with calling the company (All Over Towing) and complaining about his attitude. The driver was never rude and kept his cool. The mgr (Dave) called the company and lied through his teeth about the driver. At that point I called the tow driver's company and explained what really happened. I will never use this shop just based on that. I can't use a repair facility that disrespects someone based on their job, if they're that way to someone they don't know then HOW can you trust that they're honest and will be respectful to your property. I stuck around just long enough to let the mgr know why I was leaving. read more

Dave provided superb service at a fair and reasonable price. Their quality of work and attention to detail is second to none. Took a few days due to a shipping delay with the part, however Dave kept excellent communication with me and gave me the option to return the vehicle if I needed transportation over the weekend. Poor service gave a quote for $1500.00 to rebuild ended at almost 4K . 3-5 business days took two weeks . Turn over the car to me drove 1/2 mile spilled all oil on the street had to drive back to the shop to give it back they took another three days to work on it . 14k miles I'm still having problems with the truck and Dave the owner the worst service provider I don't know how he is certified by Ammco . read more

DO NOT bring your car here. These 5 star reviews must be fake truly. I took my 2012 Town and Country in with car troubles. They needed to rebuild the transmission for $3200. It took 2 weeks, no one called or followed up through the process even when they diagnosed the issue. Dave is the owner of this business and finally called to say the vehicle is done. My husband paid and they still was not done so we had to come back in the morning. I came back drove two blocks away and my vehicle completely went dead. They came and jumped the car. I got the vehicle home and went to leave again and it was dead. My husband opened the hood and we realized that was a completely different battery and the housing is missing. I called Dave and he was very rude told me I'm accusing him of stealing. I only thought somehow something got switched. This is not a trustworthy place to do business at. read more

I dropped a check off for Dave and Synchrony Bank, Dave put it in HIS ACCOUNT on April 5th. I've been contacting them since then and paid some late fees. Sin croney Bank said they can't do anything and sent me a letter last week. I called them 1 last time, and they said they would "research" it again. It went to collections. I noticed that Dave had other incidents with customers. When I called him and finally got a hold of him, he said " I will whip your ass old man" I'm 69, w/ 2 hip replacements and no knee cap. I worked in the oilfields but after reading about him having the police called on him for threatening with a gun, I ain't going over there with any "Nutcase". AAMCO this place is Amazing! I'm a firm believer in honesty and Dave was very honest and truthful about my Chevy truck mechanical transmission problems. He went above and beyond to repair my vehicle. I'm very happy and satisfied with my new rebuild transmission because they also repair some minor engine problems. Horrible place to go. If I could give negative stars I would. I waited 2 weeks for a part to come in and when they finally called to say they had the part we scheduled a time to be there. Whe we got there Dave had no clue about any part for our car so we went elsewhwere. Turns out they didn't have the right part any way as their $450 repair was done for $289 at Nissan. Not only did they misdiagnosbut we were told our problem but we were told by 2other shops it could only be fixed by the dealer anyway. I'm guessing they were planning to put in some generic part just to get our money. Also while we were there another person pulled in with a smoking engine saying he just left the shop an hour before after two days of repair. Just saying they suck and lie read more

This guy is a total DOUCHE NOZZLE!!! He swindled my 70yr old dad out of a couple grand, he claims he rebuilt the transmission, but when you looked at the transmission bolts the grease on three bolts was still on them! The bolts hadn't even been busted which means he did NO work on the transmission! Now my dad is without transportation. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU NOT, REPEAT, DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!! He likes to take advantage of old folks and probably women as well!! WORST place to EVER GO to have your vehicle repaired!!! And to top it off corporate won't even take care of the problem and says their hands are tied! NEVER GO TO AAMCO!!! You'll get screwed! You're Better off goin to a shade tree mechanic!! The service is terrible. David, the guy in charge is rude and was not very helpful. My car has been here for almost a month, they have been telling me it's gonna be ready for pick up for the last two weeks. Every time I call David says he will have it ready at the end of the day, it's been like this for literally 2 weeks. I find this ridiculous and would not re commend this auto shop. I just moved here and AAMCO had left a bad taste in my mouth. They gave me back my car not running at all and with a dent. read more

Do not take your car here. Ever. The previous owner of my van had the transmission rebuilt at this AAMCO location. Within the first year the transmission had to be repaired twice at other AAMCO locations (in other states). The van broke down again, this time in Albuquerque. The Albuquerque AAMCO worked on it for 4 months and said it was fixed. The transmission was still under warranty and according to the paperwork (in black and white), and according to AAMCO HQ and AAMCO Albuquerque the warranty was transferable. At that point I bought it from the previous owner. The transmission failed again 2 weeks later and Albuquerque sent the transmission back to the Phoenix AAMCO for a second rebuild. Four months later the transmission came back to Albuquerque, was installed and did not work. I talked to Scott Lefkowitz, the owner of the AAMCO in Phoenix who said he wouldn't authorize any more work on it and said the warranty was non-transferable. He said there was nothing wrong with the transmission and I could sue him if I want. AAMCO Albuquerque told me to come get it. It did not have reverse, it wouldn't go over 40mpg, and after 10 miles it stopped running and started smoking. I feel AAMCO Albuquerque did all they could. When I picked up the van they told me I need to sue Scott. They said they would never let one of their customers drive away in a car in that condition and would find a way to fix it, but their hands were tied in this situation because only Scott could authorize additional repairs. I contacted Mike Pekula, Director of Consumer Affairs at AAMCO HQ and he was of no help. He said HQ cannot force Scott to repair it or reimburse the original cost of the rebuild. He said he told Scott I would probably sue him. So much for using a national chain. I took the van to an honest shop that actually knows what they are doing and, after rebuilding the transmission correctly, the van now runs great. I am now in the process of suing the Phoenix AAMCO. My understanding that the same entity owns the West Van Buren Street, Indian School Road and North Cave Creek Road AAMCOs. Stay away from all of them. read more

I brought my 2010 GMC Terrain here April of 2021 For transmission issues. It didn't take but maybe a week for them to "fix" the issue I paid 3800 for them to rebuild and fix the broken pieces in the transmission. On January 5th 2022 my truck stopped reversing and moving forward. I called them and they said I needed to get it towed to them, which I thought would have been covered in the warranty. I had to wait until the follow week for an opening. A week went by and no word so I called and no one could tell me the progress. Another week went by and still nothing. I finally talked to someone they said that the soft went out and they were waiting on a programmer. Another week went by. I called back, now there's a leak they were looking into. Got that fixed. And then they were waiting on the programmer AGAIN. I finally got fed up and called complaining because at this point I'm shelling out money I don't have. They told me "you are not getting a f'ing refund" so my kids father called and they nicely told him that the truck would be ready the next day. It wasn't. infact it was 2 days. When I got it back, the truck started driving weird so I took it to a tire shop and they had damaged my sway bar link and I'm sure they did it purposely so I could bring it back and have to pay them since the truck was in warranty.. they are extremely unprofessional and rude. Especially to women. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!! And the transmission still is not working correctly. I refuse to take it back. Forgot having a warranty. This place needs to be shut down!!!! read more

These guys are not happy about honoring their warranty (after I dropped $2400 on them) and they give you a nice fat lecture when you take it in how it's YOUR responsibility. They take FOREVER to get the work done giving you the excuse that they're too busy. They want your car for four days...uh, how exactly am I supposed to give up my car for four days and not go to work, errands with kids, etc? My experience here has NOT been good and it's frustrating. I paid almost $2000 to him when he told me my van was working right WHAT A RIP OFF.. THE MAN BASICALLY ROBBED ME!! He was rude and inconsiderate. He never called me to let me know what was going on. I always had to do the calling and never any news. At one point he went on vacation when I had a part that SUPPOSEDLY didn't get there. Yet his passport came in the same delivery. That's crap! He brought me home with a car full of other people he was ripping off!! Please people DO NOT GO HERE FOR YOUR CAR NEEDS. David does not know how to handle his shop. Two weeks after he got the third computer it was supposed to be fixed and running great but he now said that the car couldn't turn on because the computer vin number was different than the one on the key. I asked him to give me back the old computer but he said he threw it away without even asking us. In total I payed $710 for a new computer and the programming but the car wasn't even running. So I had to tow the car home (which cost me $90) because I wasn't going to let him keep the car any longer. After having another mechanic look at the car he told me that the computer wasn't even programmed At all, so I had to pay another $280 to actually get it programmed and guess what, it turn on. The mechanic told me the problem that it has and It doesn't even have anything to do with the computer. The problem is the timing belt, which the car had warranty on. I keep trying to contact corporate but you always have to leave messages for someone to call you back and nothing has been done! read more

went to this aamco on sat. june 15th 2013 at 8am , this was a saturday, had a leak , it was transmission fluid, after a short road trip, and a short inspection , i was told that i needed 1225.00 in repairs , that i had 3 leaks, took my car back to my dealer for a secound opinion,i had a leak around the dip stick, a simple o ring stopped, the leak, the dealer fixed it for free. aamco wanted to charge me 10.1 hors for labor and 400.00 for parts, maybe the a/g of az. should be notified, dont be fooled by aamco get a secound oppinon.. w.ellison read more
