Aan Dora Salon is the most perfect place for the stressed out bride and her wedding party. From my hair and makeup trial, to the wedding day, Kathryn and co. were helpful, kind, friendly, and talented. The salon itself is calming and spacious enough to accommodate a large group. We had five bridesmaids, two junior bridesmaids, a mother, and the bride all doing hair and makeup the morning of the wedding but everything went smoothly. No one felt rushed and everyone was so happy with the finished product. One of my bridesmaids is still raving about how her updo stayed in even while she slept overnight! I had bought a birdcage veil online but wasn't quite happy with it when it came in. Hannah was a true artist in helping me cut up the veil and turning it into a beautiful piece of lace that she worked into my braids. I was so pleased with the result, it was unique and stunning. The team at Aan Dora was so wonderful to work with, I even got emotional as I was saying goodbye! I love this place. Honestly I couldn't be more lazy about my hair if I tried, so I am always honest about that -therefore not getting some haircut/ style I won't be able to duplicate a day later. I see Livia every time, she is great. She really listens to what you want done and checks in to make sure you are happy along the way- never rushing or making it feel like a burden of you need it thinned out more or whatever. Great Salon! I was in search for a new salon for awhile! Your always nervous going into a new salon for first time and having a new hairdresser. Once I walked in I thought wow love the layout, the fireplace the decorations-very modern looking. I met my stylist Valerie, she was great! First time client had Corrine told her my hair I do at home always comes off on pillow case a few times she blamed it on BOX color, haircut was ok had her put in few highlights to break up my dark hair I got about 6-8 not even noticeable that woke up next morning to worse pillow stains from color rub off ! In fact for 3 nites it stained then went away to hotel for weekend stained those cases too !! So much for pricey salon color ! I text salon & even sent pix of my pillow cases no reply ! She told me when I was paying I was getting 20% off being new client OMG cud never afford regular price most expensive shop I've been to except in city ! Since they chose Not to respond I had to do this review will NOT be going back can't even see my expensive highlights !! read more

I just love this Salon! I have been twice in the past 6 months, and could not be happier with the results. Joanne did my first cut which was awesome, and the second visit I went to Livia who did a color and cut. The color is exactly what I have been looking for. While I'm not a regular at Aan Dora, I am such a fan of these awesome ladies! The salon is located in a cute shopping plaza on Route 3 in Kingston. Joanne (the owner) has done a great job maximizing the space to give the salon a pampering feel. Make-up artist Kathryn Brown is as good as it gets. Trained by Chanel and Bobbi Brown (just to name a couple) she is a coup for this small, boutique salon. She knows the salon's make-up line (Glo Minerals) like the back of her hand, and can make any face look like a cover girl. Kathryn was my make-up artist for my wedding last November. Through multiple consultations, she was tremendously patient. She helped steer me toward a look that was authentically me, but made me feel fabulous. While she skillfully recommended product, I never felt as though I was being pressured to buy. She was also able to work with the salon aesthetician to help get my skin in tip top shape for wedding day. Together, we transitioned me from the high end foundation I was using that was destroying my skin to more Glo products and I saw a huge improvement. Kathryn also did make-up for almost all of my wedding party, all of whom are STILL raving about how great she was. That brings me to Lenore. I have incredibly hard to tame eyebrows. I'm also really fussy about who I allow to wax them. I like a wax to look natural, but also last well in terms of grow out. Enter: Aan Dora. Lenore does AMAZING waxing. She is meticulous, leaving no hair untamed. I had smoother skin than I have had in years. I also got a facial about a week before the wedding that was the BEST facial I have ever had. Lenore took her time, and left my skin feeling like a million dollars. Bonus points for the amazing pumpkin scrub near the end of the service. All of the staff I've interacted with has been friendly, professional, and welcoming. Credit cards are a-ok, but no tipping on the card as of last time I was there.
