They were very accommodating and let me come by immediately for a meet and greet. Paul and Katie were very friendly and reassuring. My dogs took to them and had a blast during the short encounter. So, I boarded my dogs with them for a night the next day. Some things I'd like to highlight is that they have a spacious fenced in yard and a doggie door so the dogs can come and go as they please. My little brats could learn how to be dogs in a pack. Food is included and provided. They provide high quality grain free food that my dogs love and they leave it out so the dogs can graze. This is good if your dog eats when it's hungry. However, my dogs, being puggles, ate non-stop and Paul and Katie had to put the food up. They just fed my dogs like pigeons throughout the day instead. This is something you might want to consider if your dog has special dietary needs and will eat everything in sight. But apart from one of my dogs overeating till his all you can eat buffet was thwarted, all is good. Oh Katie is a nurse and she's able to put eye drops or whatever your dog needs. My dogs are fine, but it's something you might want to consider when picking a boarding place for your dogs. Best part about Just Like Home is that the dogs can go on the furniture and sleep with humans. My dogs lay on Paul and Katie and watched tv and slept with Paul at night. (Sorry, Paul, I know my dogs are walking heat packs.) I'm relieved that my dogs can get the human contact and attention that they crave. I don't have to feel bad that they are crying in a suite at some other boarding place. When I went to pick the dogs up, one of them came up to greet me, then ran back off to play with his friends. He didn't want to leave. The other one is a total momma's boy, so he stayed by me while we tried let the first one know that it was time to go home. Also, the rates here are very reasonable. I'll definitely take my dogs there again if I need to board them while I'm in Jacksonville.

This is not an extreme expectation; it is the baseline requirement of professional pet care. Our issues began during a prior booking when a sitter routinely brought her young child into our home without our prior knowledge or consent. Our home is not childproofed, making this a significant liability and a violation of privacy. I brought this directly to Jennifer, expecting no future protocol violations. Unfortunately, our most recent trip proved that oversight remains a systemic issue. We returned home at 11:00 AM immediately following a scheduled final morning visit to find the following conditions: Neglected Sanitation: The litter box was entirely full with no fresh litter added. It had been neglected long enough that our two cats resorted to urinating and defecating on the floor outside the box. Safety Protocol Ignored: We explicitly instructed that the cats could enjoy the lanai during visits, but must be brought inside with the lanai door securely shut upon departure. Leaving this open during a Florida summer is a severe heat hazard. 9 to 5 Pets completely ignored this safety directive. Lack of Home Maintenance: Dried cat spit-up was left on the floor for days, indicating the sitters were not actively inspecting the living spaces. HOA Non-Compliance: Basic requests to return the garbage cans to their proper place were ignored. They were left out for days, resulting in an official warning from our HOA. Every instruction violated was clearly outlined in our routinely updated online profile. Jennifer's dismissive response proves that 9 to 5 Pets does not take accountability for failing to meet basic industry standards of cleanliness, safety, and communication. On either of my first or second day, I got a phone call that there was a lot of blood in the house and one of my cats was bleeding profusely. She sent me a photo and I know the cat had a little red raspberry in that spot and I assume that either he bit it off or it got scratched off. it was quite a bit of blood and it wouldn't stop. Between Dana and Charlotte they took the cat to the vet who numbed the area and did something to stop the bleeding They also knew a Carpet Cleaner who came in the very next day and cleaned my chairs and the carpet. Dana and Charlotte went through and thoroughly cleaned my house because there was blood on the walls, on the floor, and everywhere I can't imagine another pet sitting company going to the degree that they went to to make sure my animals were safe and that my house and furniture was not ruined oh, and every visit I got several photos of each animal, which made me happy as well
