As a fellow local business owner, I am incredibly empathetic to staffing shortages and heavy workloads, but my experience with them was completely disrespectful.My experience began with their secretary, JJ, booking our initial meeting on the wrong date. I rearranged my own business schedule to meet with the owner, Drew, only for his office to mess up the calendar and leave me waiting for two hours. I tried calling during the wait and left messages stating I would have to leave to go back to work. When I called the next day to find out what happened, Drew actually insinuated that I was the one overreacting.Despite the rocky start, he offered to meet with me right away, which I was thankful for. We had a great conversation about future plans and the shared challenges of running a family business. I was relieved and hopeful that we were off to a fresh start. He promised a design in two weeks, and exactly two weeks later, JJ confirmed over the phone that Drew had the plan ready. That was the last time I ever heard from them.For over two months, I have called once a week. Every single week, I was promised a return call, and not once did anyone follow through. They have completely ghosted me, ignored my business, and effectively kept my personal project plans. Running a business is hard, but ghosting a client for months while stringing them along and promising callbacks is flat-out unprofessional. Save your time and find a professional who actually values your business and your time.

We decided to swing by Lagoner Farms, and bought some Cortland apples which had been in cold storage all winter, some freshly harvested asparagus (which was SO YUMMY! -- what a difference it makes to eat local foods!) And some super-dry champagne-like hard cider. Can you say YUM?!?! Not only was it a feast for the eyes ... and belly .... but did our souls good, to get out of town and into nature. Even if the trees aren't in bloom, we suggest you go do this! Drive along Lake Ave all the way to Pultneyville and then head over to Lagoner for a beautiful and tasty stop!

For context, I stopped shopping on Sundays months ago due to prior issues involving Melissa (weekend manager) and another employee. After six months away, I tried again--same result. I also observed smoking within a few feet of the public entrance when I arrived. On 10/19/2025, I brought two early '70s Batman issues to the 5-items-or-fewer line with Melissa, who was visibly agitated and had just called for additional front-end help. She allowed a one-item customer to go ahead--no issue. During my checkout, she began picking at the price stickers, bending the books, and left nail marks on a cover. I politely asked her not to remove stickers--a routine request I've made many times here because it can damage older paper. She paused for ~30 seconds, then rolled her eyes and replied, "Suuuuuure" in a sarcastic tone as if to imply I was crazy. I declined the purchase and stepped away. She called after me that she would personally buy the books so "no one would lose out," then grabbed the phone, threatened to call the police, ordered me to leave, and banned me--in front of three cashiers and roughly 6-8 customers. I was also accused of "threatening/harassing," which was unfounded and embarrassing. I value this store, but the conduct today was unprofessional and needlessly escalatory--especially from a manager. I hope ownership reviews the footage, clarifies handling of collectibles (including sticker removal), and addresses customer communication and de-escalation.
