First time trying out rail bike and it was fun! Came here during the Memorial Day weekend. Went on…read morethe Revolution Rail Thurman Station Run in Warrensburg, which is about 20 mins from Lake George. The duration of the entire trip is 2 hours. Best to make online reservations in advance as the timeslots get filled fast especially on the weekends. Option for a tandem (double) $90 for 2 people or four seater (quad) bike for $160. Hand brake is the the back on the quad... and on the right side for the tandem. Bring water, bug spray, sun screen and wear closed toed shoes. Get there 20 minutes before the start of the tour to check in and sign a wavier form, use the restrooms (2 gender neutral) and wait for instructions. The staff will go over the rules before you head out including maintaining safe distance between the bikes as these are not bumper cars. Secure your valuables in a bag that won't drop out of the basket which is location behind the seats of the bikes...especially car keys and phones. The ride is about 40-45 mins each way. After everyone is on board their respective bikes, the staff generously helps you take a picture before you head off. The staff will ride in front and in the back of the entire tour. This is a good workout.. actually not too strenuous on the legs but will definitely feel it after in the core between chest and stomach if one doesn't work out. The 1st half the ride is from Thurman Station to 1000 Acre Ranch where everyone will get a 15 minute break to go get a drink, use the restroom and/or see the animals on the ranch. In the meantime, the staff will turnaround all the bikes in preparation to head back. The bike you came on is the same back your ride back on. The ride back is just as fun and luckily had nice weather though it was a bit hot. Take plenty of pictures and enjoy the views. Will definitely come back and try a different ride for fall foliage or perhaps the same one. Hoping for nice weather again as well. Thanks to the staff for the instructions and making sure we all got back safe!

Well, we finally did this past weekend, and the only regret we have is waiting so long! What a fantastic experience from start to finish. The ride is about 7 miles round trip--3 1/2 miles out and 3 1/2 miles back. It's not overly difficult, but let's just say your quads will definitely remind you the next day that they got a little workout! The staff was wonderful--friendly, easygoing, and full of interesting information about the area and the tour. Our guide, Bryan, did a terrific job sharing the history of the trail and the surrounding area, which made the ride even more enjoyable. About halfway through, there's a relaxing stop with picnic tables where you can enjoy a snack or drink that you bring along in the handy storage bag attached to each rail bike. It was the perfect chance to sit back, take in the scenery, and recharge before heading back. And then there's the railroad trestle! The views of the Hudson are absolutely beautiful and definitely a highlight of the trip. Just be warned--you can't stop in the middle to take pic of the scenery so your rail bike partners are still pedaling and you snap quickly but hold on to your camera!! The ride back seemed to go by even faster, probably because we were having so much fun, plus more downhill which is always easier. This was a memorable experience filled with fresh air, beautiful scenery, great people, and plenty of laughs. We had an amazing time and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique Adirondack adventure!

The bridge over the river crossing at the beginning had beautiful views. The fall colors made this a gorgeous ride too. The staff were very friendly as well. They made sure everyone was safe and comfortable the entire tour. They have a basket at the back of each rail bike for our belongings. There is a quick 10 min break at the end so bring snacks or water to enjoy at the picnic tables.

Disrespectful and Discriminatory Experience…read more We paid over $200 per night expecting a decent winter break stay. Instead, we experienced chaos, hostility, and treatment that felt discriminatory. There was no staff at check-in -- after 10+ calls, we were told the key was left outside. The "continental breakfast" was stale cereal and hard-boiled eggs. The room had bugs, and the flooring was poorly installed and taped together with electrical tape. On the second day of our stay, the owner entered one of our rooms unannounced using her own key and attempted to change the lock to lock out one of our family members, claiming the room wasn't paid for. We had booked and paid in full for four rooms over six months earlier. Only after showing her the receipt did she realize it was her mistake. No apology was offered. I am a disabled veteran with medical dietary restrictions and travel with a rice cooker. When a fire alarm went off due to the microwave provided in the room, the owners barged in and demanded money. Later, they returned accusing us of clogging a public bathroom toilet with rice -- an accusation that felt based solely on the fact that we are Asian. The photo they showed was actually pasta. Again, no apology. As a veteran who served this country, I never expected to be stereotyped, falsely accused, and repeatedly entered without notice during a family vacation. We left feeling humiliated, targeted, and completely disrespected.

That is exactly what we got. Honestly, I do not think we could have found a better place to stay. Our room was very comfy and clean. The house was recently remodeled and looks nice and cozy. The breakfast served daily was amazing. I Loved the pumpkin spice pancakes that were an October special. We watched some TV in the main living room and seemed just like a home away from home. It was exactly what we needed for our first bnb experience. The owner Dakota was friendly and hospitable. Her dad was also there occasionally during our stay. He had some interesting and funny stories. Everyone made us feel welcomed. Side notes, the house is next to a grave yard. If you are superstitious, then don't stay here. There was construction on the road while we were there which was quite noisy but hopefully that will be done soon. There's a fire pit on the other side of the house. Breakfast is cooked by Penny's husband and was delicious. There are many options to choose from and all cooked to order. They are very conscious of food allergies. It was a very nice stay and would definitely recommend.

First we all took a Zumba class! The instructor was an adorable lady with tons of energy so we had a blast! Then we all split up to do our own things. I personally took a quick shower then sat in the steam room but it didn't seem to be working so I went in the sauna, which I loved. Some other friends used the gym and others went in the pool. After the sauna I sat in the waiting area for my massage and drank a cup of herbal tea with my friends. My massage was excellent! So relaxing and she spent extra time on my areas where I asked her to focus- lower back and hips. After our massages, one of my friends and I went in the outdoor hot tub. What a great experience to be in that hot bubbly water while it was snowing! It's located in a covered area so it didn't snow on us. Then we came back inside and sat in the sauna one more time then I showered and got dressed. What a fun, relaxing time! I took a star off as the steam room wasn't working although I noticed someone contacted staff to inform them and it was fixed. Also, they only had small and extra large sandals available so I wore the small ones which were not very comfortable. My friends had trouble with their lockers and had to get staff more than once to assist them. Other than those minor issues, we had a fantastic experience!

My wife and I took a weekend trip over to Lake George from NYC, and we wanted to try ice fishing. As complete beginner's with fishing, we relied heavily on Capt JJ, and he came through. He got there to the meeting spot ahead of time, brought out all the gear to the fishing spot on the lake, reserved a parking space for us, and then when my wife and I arrived, he drove us out there in his ATV. He had all the bare essential gears of ice fishing, sonar machine, numerous lures, as well as all other gear for creature comfort such as dual tents so we can fish separately if desired, Sun warming pop up tent, and a heater. Then, as my wife and I were fishing, he rode around and drilled more holes, so that we could try our luck at different loca tions. Additionally, he drilled some holes and set these 'Tip ups', which are spring operated contraptions, leave alone lines with lures, that would alert us when there's a possible bite. All in all, he drilled around 10-13 holes for us to work with. We were out there on the frozen lake for about 4.5-5 hours, and we caught a 29" Lake Trout. Overall, we had a great time out there, learned a lot about Ice fishing, frozen lakes, got some nice picture moments in, and walked away with a beautiful, fresh as can be, whole trout. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone.
