What an amazing dinner cruise! The meal was amazing and the service was beyond expectations. We had a bit of misty weather during the return leg of the trip, but that was not noticed. The narration from the original captain and builder of the boat made this trip so special. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and quickly boarded. The boat was about 1/2 full on Thursday Aug 3rd, but they seated our party of 8 right next to another party of 8. Once seated I could not get out of my chair without asking 6 people to move to allow me access to the restroom, while there were empty tables, and tables with only 2 people all around us. The meal I had, chicken, was awful. It looked like a boiled leg and thigh. I didn't eat it, and when the server collected it, I complained, but either she didn't understand me or she just ignored my complaint. I also complained to the owner who said she was sorry and dismissed me. We spent at least $800.00 on this dinner cruise. It was a colossal waste of money and time. Never again! read more

AMAZING! If I had one word to describe this cruise, it's amazing. The owners are absolutely wonderful. Super personable and really just go above and beyond. My husband and I were gifted an intimate dinner cruise for our 10 year anniversary. Having never been we were not sure what to expect, but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We enjoyed the beautiful views for about an hour before dinner was ready. You could have ordered a cheese tray or shrimp cocktail ahead of time, but we were not aware of that. The bar is open starting at 5pm when you board the boat. You can pay with cash or card. Once dinner started around 7pm we were surprised to find that it started with soup then a salad. A bread basket was also on the table. We had a great bean and ham soup. The salad was a garden salad with an apricot vinaigrette. It was quite good as well. Dinner is a choice of prime rib, chicken, pork, or a few different fish dishes. It was delicious and cooked so well. My prime rib came with the most amazing mashed potatoes and a tomato paste. Dessert was either fruit or strawberry shortcake. The strawberry shortcake was easily one of the best I've ever had. The whole evening was captured perfectly with some great views of Racquette Lake and all the great camps on it. We definitely will be back again! read more

We loved our brunch cruise on Sunday, July 17! This is a top-notch excursion that is run by an obviously caring family and should not be missed. It took us several years of trips to finally take this cruise and it was a hit! The food was terrific and ample. You could enjoy mimosas, bellinis or champagne as included, along with a variety of non-alcoholic drinks. A full bar is also available, with a separate purchase enabling folks to have an open bar. We split our time inside to eat, and up on top for drinks and scenery. The cruise is an instructive tour of the camps and history of Raquette Lake. Capt Pohl, at age 80, is the master tour guide and skipper. We were so happy when we left that we forgot to get some tshirts, so we will have to return next year! Don't overlook this really relaxing cruise. Well worth tghe wait! read more

I bought a lunch cruise because it was the only way to take one of the rare tours of Camp Pine Knot. I assumed it would involve a boat ride and sandwiches. Boy, was I wrong. Raquette Lake Navigation is run by many members of the same family who built the W.W. Durant from scratch in 1991, following the same design as the classic Raquette Lake steamboats but making it of iron. She's a beautiful boat, with many period details and well maintained. The patriarch of the family is both the captain and your tour guide as you go up one side of the lake and down the other. We were dropped at Pine Knot, took that tour and were met 90 minutes later on the other side of the peninsula and re-embarked. We spent another 90 minutes touring the lake during which time we were served an excellent lunch with choice of two entrees on white tablecloths. There's even a cash bar on board. This several-hour luncheon cruise was $59 (including a donation to SUNY Courtland, which manages Pine Knot) and worth every penny. There are a variety of other cruises with different prices and configurations. Check their schedule on line then book a cruise. You can't go wrong. P.S. The Pine Knot cruise was sold out with a waiting list, so be advised. Don't show up without a reservation. read more

Sadly, the unprofessional attitude received from one crew member put a bad taste in our mouths for the entire trip. If this business knew what was good for them they'd take guests complaints seriously. I was told by the owner that I had to suck up being treated badly because I got to do a tour of the scenery. Not a very friendly atmosphere. Don't waste your time or money. read more

One word to describe.....EXCELLENT! We took the lunch cruise today (8/15) and came away very impressed. This family run business hits all the right notes! From start to finish all hands are on deck and they can't seem to do enough for you. Well organized and they really care about the customer and appreciate your business. We have been on a few of these in different areas and normally the food is so so at best. Not this one! The lunch buffet was hit, tasty and flavorful....the bananas foster for desert will rival most restaurants. If you are in the area don't miss this one, you won't be disappointed!! read more

Took my dad on a lunch cruise Saturday. It wad forecasted 90% chance of rain, and it did rain. The fall colors were muted but the ride and the food made up for it. They had a tossed salad and roll and fresh melon at our table when we arrived. 15 minutes Ito the cruise lunch was served buffet style. Beef with gravy (it had a better name but I can't spell it, starts with a "b"), shrimp and rice spicy type dish, and pasta purses stuffed with cheese in a cream sauce, broccoli with garlic (very yummy). I don't like seafood so the shrimp thing was not tried but I cleaned my plate of every thing else. You were offered more of the salad, melon, and bread. Second helpings were encouraged. We were the last table called and really dreaded it. Bad experience on a catered lunch train that summer. There was plenty of food to choose from. And every thing was topped off fresh 2 tables previous. The apple crisp was Devine. I love all things apple. I gave half of mine to my Dad before trying it, I knew I would not limit myself otherwise. Took a private cruise for a brunch party. Food was excellent, service excellent, scenery around the lake beautiful.

Me and my wife went on the lunch tour and we had the worst experience. its still post COVID and they tried to sit strangers next to me leg to leg and when I asked if they could at least put one chairs length in between, we were rudely told thats how these cruises go. The owner came and accommodated us so we wouldnt have to be touching legs and should to shoulder with a stranger which was fine.. but then after the cruise was over the same lady pulled us off to the side while getting off the boat and continued to be rude and tell us we shouldve gone on the dinner cruise instead then. When we called the owner to complain she refused to give us any kind of refund or anything and only offered to give us free tickets to just an excursion again.. as if I would ever want to go back to that place after the experience we had. I definitely do NOT recommend this cruis to anyone. read more

We purchased tickets for the luncheon cruise via Groupon. When we arrived, we were greeted by the wife of the captain, owners of the business. They were very inviting and personable. The captain was very knowlegable and an excellent narrator. The boat was clean, Comfortable and quiet. The service was very good and well organized, for the luncheon. The food was good and you were encouraged to go up and get more as many times as you would like. All and all, this was an enjoyable cruise and I would return for another cruise, as there are several different cruises to chose from. This family run business is a well oiled machine! I did a lunch cruise with my family. It did rain during the cruise but we still had a great time. The buffet style lunch was very good. The owners and their staff are super nice and just add to the experience. We will definitely be back hopefully for one of the themed cruises. read more

Took great friends on the dinner cruise. FABULOUS! The boat and bathrooms are spotless, the food was excellent, and the staff was wonderful! Hordorves were served on the top outside deck. When dinner was ready the staff came to bring us into the dining room. Each party was brought in separately. Soup then salad were served. Then we were given about 15-20 minutes to go back to the top deck until the main course was served. After dinner, if you wanted, coffee and dessert were served on the top deck or you could stay in the dining room. Great experience! Do yourself a favor and do the dinner cruise or at least the boat cruise to see all the old camps. read more

Had the lake cruise luncheon trip today. The buffet style lunch was very good, but do you really call it a buffet if you only have one entree to offer? The food was great though, and the information was great. It was a misty type rain, but with the dining room enclosed it was still a very nice trip and event. read more
