This is an excellent place to go camping. It's off the beaten path but not so far off the beaten…read morepath that you're not close enough to get to where you need to get in a timely manner if you need things for a store. It is definitely a good place to have a good time everybody seems to be very friendly we have been there for 2 years and facilities are very clean and the management is very nice. They have ponds where you can go fishing and they keep it stocked with fish there is no lake but they do have a heated swimming pool. They have live bands that play every Saturday and they have a playground for the kids as well as a full size basketball court they also have a baseball field as well. We have horseshoe pits a place to play bocce ball and a volleyball court. They have a place where they all gather together and have their bomb fires as a community within the park and we also get together and have meals as well periodically throughout the season. These are put on by management paid for by donation bottles that are used by campers and donated to the office they return them and use that money to go towards helping to pay for all the things that they do or the camp itself. So if you're looking for a great Campground for a seasonal spot this would be a real great place to try. Thanks for listening

Stumbled upon the Somerset Reservoir while we were out one day driving around the area; a couple of…read moreour friends were headed there to take their dog for a swim, so we decided to meet them. It is VERY much off the beaten path and once you turn on Somerset Rd., it's a good 3 or 4 mile drive to get to the general parking, picnic area near the water. Oh yeah, the road isn't paved either so it's best to have a 4x4 or some sort of vehicle with tires that can handle the trek. The general parking area is a decent size, there are a few picnic tables and a port-a-potty which was surprisingly clean. The reservoir itself is huge and great for kayaking or canoeing, neither of which we did, but I did see quite a few people there enjoying themselves on the water. There is one general walking direction which takes you to several different hiking paths and there is even a cute little bridge overlooking a beautiful stream. It had rained that morning and with leaves falling, the trails were a little slippery at points, but nothing that made me feel unsafe. I'd definitely recommend wearing sneakers or hiking boots of some kind. Between the group of us, we had 3 dogs and none of them were on a leash; people really didn't seem to care and everyone was friendly. The dogs enjoyed swimming in the water and I enjoyed looking at it. I'd most definitely go back to Somerset Reservoir with a camera and a light lunch to kick back and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

A small lake, no large motorized boats are allowed, so it is quiet and peaceful. In fact, the greatest disturbances tend to be other campers who insist on playing their music loudly. Thankfully, there is usually a good amount of space between sites, and most people respect the quiet hours. While this campground is a long way away from where I live, it is definitely worth the drive. If you are interested in fall camping, I can't even being to describe how beautiful it is to wake up in the morning to see the lake surrounded by a riot of colors.

Located close to Indian Lake, the Lewey Lake Campground has multiple entrances off of Route 30N with the main campground the furthest south and what I have labeled on the Yelp map. Keep in mind that the address does not come up properly on Google Maps or Bing maps so look at the Yelp placement for more accuracy. We were at the furthest north campsites which are pretty isolated from everyone else. The sites our group stayed at were situated right next to a stream which was great for sleeping. You couldn't hear anyone around you and even with the goings on at our lower campsite we couldn't hear them at all. There only outhouses at this location of the campground but it is a short drive to the main sites that have real bathrooms and showers along with a nice, simple beach. Despite how close it is to Route 30N, I definitely felt isolated in a good way and would highly recommend staying there for people looking for some interesting camping with reasonably convenient location.

This is a very pretty place with a lovely small lake in the back of the campground. $45/night for our 5th wheel. When we first got there, they tried to put us in a site that was surrounded by trees. It would take a 90-degree turn to the left, followed by an immediate 90-degree turn to the right to get into the site. At the corners of each of those turns are Pine Trees. Literally at each corner of the site. We weren't even able to get our truck and half of the 5th wheel into the first turn, let alone make the next sharp turn to the right. If we had continued, we would have smashed trees into each side of our 5th Wheel!! So they came out and told us to take a different route onto the road the site was on to see if that would work better. That had the same issues. They offered another site, but that wasn't even long enough to get our 36-foot rig into, let alone allow room for our truck!! Finally, they told us to just basically drive around until we found a spot that would work & then just let them know which site we were in. I don't remember why the guy said this, but he also let us know that tonight was his last night at this campground.??? The sites are nice if you're able to get into them. Some are very short sites & would accommodate smaller rigs quite easily. However, this host had no clue which site we would need to fit into, let alone be able to get into the site safely. So, if you happen to run across this Campground in your travels, beware!

About a month ago, with a major haze of FOMO from missing the SNHU tour opener shows, I decided I…read morewould just send it and started plotting the trip up from Boston with my 16-year-old brother in tow for the Phish SPAC run. I did a deep dive on this place as all I could find on the internet were many mixed reviews. I am a hardcore planner and this trip forced and allowed me to chill out about that as I had to detach from that mindset and literally surrender to the flow. With little to find online about what the actual inside of the campground looks like and some negative reviews I was skeptical but reassured by some of the good ones and after talking to a friend that has been before. I booked online and communication was efficient and I was able to pay on the portal ahead of time and provide my vehicle information to make check-in smoother. I have absolutely nothing but good things to say about Lee's after spending my weekend there, the park staff was so awesome, the vibes were great, there was parking along the dirt pathed roads that ran through the park, and a band called The Reality Check Experiment even played pre and post-show sets on the park's stage and even a little shakedown too. My only two qualms were purely trivial as the phone service specifically at night was difficult (but if you're with your people you really don't need your phone at all) and the first shuttle left at 5PM each night, so if you're looking to hit the lot and have some time to take it slow there or get in to the venue real early, I'd recommend carpooling with a group or taking an Uber and taking the shuttle back. Shoutout Mandy btw! This place rocks so hard, it was a total extension of the shows and I wouldn't have had it any other way. I hope you ignore all the poor, outdated reviews from people that don't know how to camp and whose problems with the park were just user error and freaking send it like I did too.

For the amount of people there (700+) they were fairly clean. They had other toilets too, did not shower, but only had 6. If you need a shower, go to a hotel. Shuttle service was awesome, organized, and got us to/from the show easily. Security walking around, but just to keep things from getting toooo out of hand, and to check tickets. So, while there are some bad reviews, they are likely from people who shouldn't go camping with an entire section of the theater. :-). Lees Park was perfect for my needs, after all, I was just there for the show, not the accommodations.

Gifford Woods State Park is a great location for hikers (or any visitor to the Killington area for…read morethat matter) to bunk for a couple of nights. The park hosts 4 cabins, 22 tent/RV sites, and 21 lean-to sites located around two paved/well-maintained dirt roads on the premises. It appears to be open Memorial Day weekend to late October. It is a breeze to find, easily located just off Route 100. The Appalachian Trail runs right through the park so you may catch a glimpse of some thru-hikers on their journey between Maine and Georgia! The park is very well-maintained! The campsite was neatly raked, the fire pit cleaned out for use. I stayed at campsite #1 and it was quite spacious...a bit further removed from the road than the other campsites. The whole site was marked out with a fine gravel, plenty of room for parking and maneuvering the car. Each road loop contains modern bathrooms and coin-operated hot showers. There are areas for picnicking, volleyball, horseshoes, trash/recycling, and drinking water. Kent Pond is just across the way complete with boat launch and fishing! Booking and check-in were a breeze for this location. I called 10 days before our intended arrival and got a site no problem. On arrival, the ranger at the park office was very friendly and sold us firewood and ice straight from there. If you need any assistance during off-hours, the ranger lives in a cute house attached to the park office. They encouraged us to knock on the door at any time if we needed help. The campsite is pet-friendly and I came across quite a few well-behaved dogs during my stay. Quiet hours are from 10pm-7am. The park itself is pretty quiet all day long... I heard nothing but birds chirping, trees rustling, and a bit less-welcoming: the traffic from Route 100. This didn't bother me so much since I generally wear earplugs to sleep but something to consider if you prefer a more rustic atmosphere when camping. Tent sites are between $20-$22/night, $27-$29 for a lean-to site, and $50 for cabins. There is a 2-night minimum for reservations. Affordable, clean, convenient... I would definitely stay here again!

Dollar general and Stewart's is about 5 mins away.... Also have nice trails to walk on and a beautiful pond to fish and swim in with a nice little beach area. Will be going back again highly recommend. All staff was very nice and helpful.

I've been all over the United States and throughout the Adirondacks, and Pop's Lake doesn't even represent the true feel of the Adirondacks.
