The next weekend we took a trip pt to the store and were pleasantly surprised at all the selections they had. One thing we liked was although a sales person introduced themselves, they did not walk around with us throughout the store or even huddled nearby as were walked the store. I just don't like having that feeling of being watched throughout our shopping experience. A very large selection of various living room furniture that was divided basically by reclining or not. Let me tell you we have been looking for a comfortable sofa set for over a year, going to all different stores. But we have found a set that was reasonably priced and most importantly: comfortable. Although we got a quote for the set and went home to discuss it, we pretty much had made up our minds that this was the store and that was the set we would buy. Overall experience was great, staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.

Having a severe case of degenerative spine disease it increases my pain level to be on a bed so hard and uncomfortable all night, night after night. There is no possibility for an exchange! Owner graciously met me downstairs, removed item from my car and took the time to inspect the item and point out the "gem" I procured as he compared my lounge to the "prefab won't-last-five-years chaise lounges of today. He asked questions on where the item will be stored (high traffic va low traffic areas of home) and when i answered he provided a plethora of fabrics to consider. Most importantly, he did NOT expect full payment that day! Whew!! What a relief. Starting a new business is expensive so not having to make full payment before work commenced made my day. Chair is absolutely a transformation. Comfortable and I can't wait to use as a prop. Love the oatmeal color I chose.

I purchased a Hearthstone propane style gas stove from Preston Trading Post. I sourced several…read morevendors before making my final decision. I worked Creg in selecting the stove and fealt confident in his ability to provide me with the best product to suit my needs. Creg informed me that I needed to have the installer inspect and report back what type of pipe connection I required before i could purchase the stove. There are many y moving parts to the installation. The prepping of the pad for the propane tank, along with several inspections before the stove can be installed. The stove was ordered along with all the parts necessary based on the inspection by the installer. That was November, 3 weeka larer the stove was delivered with the parts. Two months later, I am scheduled for the install and it turns out that there are missing parts to the order. Preston had the stove delivered without parts that are back-ordered. They now tell me that they don't know when the parts will be in. This was all beknownst to me. I removed the wood stove, I installed new tile on the back wall and on a new platform for the gas stove, and I don't have a back up source for heat in the winter in CT. I am waiting for a call back with an explanation as to why I received a stove without all the parts.

What about a gilded room that looks like it was ripped out of Versailles itself? I mean, who DOESN'T want that...? Or retro lighting fixtures from virtually every decade since the light bulb became a thing? The shop is overflowing with antiques and there are allegedly many additional warehouses of items behind the scenes. This does, at times, make navigation around all of the stuff hard, so this store may prove challenging if you have mobility difficulties or small children. The revolving nature of the items also means that not everything has an apparent price so there is also the danger of falling for something (literally or figuratively) to find out it is several hundred, if not thousands, of dollars more than you expected. However, most items appear to be quite good quality (staff indicated that they sell a lot of items to movie/television sets) and refurbishment + transportation is included in the price in some of the larger items (stained glass windows, for example). The rear portion of the shop also has a work area and I think they offer restoration classes. Definitely a unique place that fits in and adds to the eclectic vibe of Middletown. You might wander in to find yourself dazedly wandering out 75 minutes later.
