Ignore the online order reviews. Yelp, you should honestly remove them. They have nothing to do with visiting the business whatsoever. Wish I made the trek sooner. It's easy off i95 and on a lovely country road. Coming from NYC, once you hit the Madison area, you just feel the lighter energy in the air and begin to relax. So, a drive to Pelham is actually enjoyable. And now that I know about the veg places nearby, what a lovely daytrip visiting Pelham can be. You must check their website for opening hours as their schedule is limited. They've got everything and prices are reasonable so plan to stock up. Plenty of staff available - many of them family members - and everyone was welcoming and friendly. It was a warm environment in which to meander and gather treasures. My order arrived in a timely manner and I got everything I paid for, however I didn't get everything I initially ordered. I spent over $500 to get the free shipping discount, and when my invoice came I was surprised to see I was only charged $480 and some odd dollars. Luckily the shipping was only $4. Once I received my order I realized that many of the items I ordered had been out of stock. Y'all need to keep your website updated and cleaned up so this doesn't keep happening. This resulted in my not even getting many of the items I had promised to customers. Another issue I had is that I ordered 1 lb bags of polished stones that were described as medium size, and all of them turned out to be slightly bigger than stone chips. I can use these in candles and other crafts, but I really wanted to sell the stones individually. At this size, that's not profitable. Your website is super messy too. A lot of items have poor descriptions and don't specify if someone will receive one piece or more, so I didn't order. Work on your stock, your layout, and customer service please. I visited the warehouse today and had a fantastic time. Their space is filled with rooms that have shelving with lots of goodies! If I could give them 0 stars, I would. I was a first time buyer with them and purchased ~$500 of inventory for them on January 6th. I got one missed call from them and since then, I've been calling them multiple times on weekdays, emailing them and have not heard a single word. I read on their website that it can take up to 10 BUSINESS DAYS to ship your order. I was patient. THEN I get an email yesterday, January 23rd - 17 DAYS LATER - saying that my order has been cancelled with this excuse: "I AM SORRY , WE ARE UNABLE TO SUPPLY THE ATTACHED ORDER , WE HAVE THEREFORE CANCELLED THE ORDER WITH REGRET STEVE" Are they out of stock??? If so, why is the listing STILL up? It's been up since I placed the other 17 DAYS AGO. If that was the case then, during or now, why hadn't I received notification earlier??? This review is based on my in-person shopping experience at their warehouse in Stonington. Based on other reviews here, it sounds like it is best to go in-person. They've got a wide variety of crystals and you're free to roam around and look and choose on your own. Prices are great and if you have a business card you get 50% off. I've gotten many, many great deals here! The folks who work there are super nice and very helpful and knowledgeable. My first order with this company was problematic. The group of Indigo Gabbro gallats were missing from the order. These were the items I was going to give out as gifts for my grand opening. I called, several times, but could never get a real person. I emailed and finally reached someone who was able to get the missing items out and to me by the nick of time. My second order was also problematic. While I realize that the pictures on the website are not in any way true examples of their stock, I ordered a few things hoping they were at least close. They were not. I tried to follow the instructions to get an RMA number. Again, I called several times. Absolutely NO ONE answers your phone. I emailed and waited a few days with no response, so i called again. I finally received a man on the phone who sounded like he was completely overwhelmed. He said that there was a line of customers in front of him, so we would do the RMA over email. It took a couple of days, but I got the information and sent the less than acceptable pieces back. I was credited relatively quickly and for that I am grateful. This last order was a disaster. I specifically requested Priority Mail Flat rate. I do this because I live in WA state. Priority mail is less expensive and it gets to me twice as fast. UPS is more expensive and takes 7-10 days to be delivered. I received a notice from my charge card stating I have been charged $74 and some change. My order was barely $53.00. That was $20.20 for shipping! An outrage and something I was in no way prepared for. AND..........it was shipped UPS. Apparently no one read my order or my instructions. I emailed and told them of the error within 5 minutes of the notification. NO response. I emailed the next day and told them to cancel. No response. I received said order today. Soooo disappointed. The calligraphy stone was advertised as LARGE 20-30mm. Less than half fit anywhere close to that size. The majority were 16-18mm. Neither of the Tiger Iron were 70-80mm. Both were less than 67mm. The Vesuvianite? Pebbles, mostly, even though they were advertised as medium. The Selenite layout platforms? well, let's just say you might as well not even give an estimated measurement. None of mine were close. When I received the box today? It was in a PRIORITY FLAT RATE MAIL BOX!!! but was shipped UPS. My entire experience with Pelham Grayson has been less than stellar. I am a true believer in great customer service and I treat every one of my customers with respect. I give each one my full attention when I am working with them, before, during and after the order has been place, filled and shipped. I am so disappointed. I will find another vendor who has the time to fill and pack my order properly, that has a good customer service dept instead of an answering machine, and treats me like a respected customer, not just take my money and give me incorrect information/product. read more

This is likely the worst company I've encountered in a long time. I made an order from Pelham Grayson for a 10 different items, more than $80.00 When I placed the order online they sent right back a summary of all the items with prices but without the shipping costs, saying when they were ready to ship they will let me know the full price for my order. So, after some days I received an email saying that my order was already shipped with the invoice attached. The attached invoice was different from my original order/invoice, they added twice for an item that I ordered (1), so immediately I sent an email explaining the overcharge but nobody answer me back. Next day (Friday) I received my order with the "wrong" invoice, and some items were different from what I've ordered. I called them, and the answering machine said they were closed until next Tuesday. Just to clarify, they have a half page regarding their detailed return policy. You must obtain a RMA number within 5 days to return an item to avoid additional shipping charges and restocking fees. I called back again on Tuesday, 3 times, and let the phone ring until eventually I got voice mail, so I left a message referring to the wrong charge, and to get the RMA #, and all my detailed information. I received no reply. I decided to write an email explaining everything, again, and saying that if I don't hear from them until at the end of the day I was going to contact my credit card company to handle the problem, so after that, I placed my last call again, and surprise, they answered it. They gave me the RMA # for the returning items that I didn't like or were different from my order. The majority of the items that ordered were not good (7), and I returned it, the ones that I kept (3) were just OK. I believe they just threw on the box whatever they had at the moment in storage. Some items I ordered size Large, and I got Small, or different colors. What a waste of time and money. So, after I returned the items, I had to call like 3 or 4 times, and sending emails just to ask when I was going to receive the refund. Finally, they sent an invoice with the amount to be refunded, which it was completely wrong. They were charging me a $10.00 for restocking (there is not a single phrase/word on their refund policy page saying that there is such thing), and also on their policy page says that they will pay for the shipping returns if the products were sent wrong or broken, so mine were at majority wrong, but I paid for the returned items. After all that they make the refund, minus the $10.00, and the shipping. I contacted them again with an email explaining that the amount was wrong, should be more, but they never answered back, so I contacted my credit card company, and explained everything, sending all the paperwork, and finally at the end the credit card company resolved the situation on my favor, so the right amount was refunded, after just 2 days. I am sorry about all this long, and detailed explanation, but I just want to everybody know that that company is not professional, and in case you have to return something you will have all these headaches, so do yourself a big favor, don't waste your time & money on this company, they are not professionals. read more

I have been doing business with this company for about three years now and I have been extremely satisfied each and every time I have visited this store. I shop at this store 3 or 4 times a year. The staff is knowledgeable, dedicated and caring. I always show up with a long list of things I need and usually several questions for them to answer. I have always been treated with respect and I have always felt that they operate with a level of integrity that I admire. In the stone business you encounter a good amount of fraud. I have confidence in this store and its owner and I trust them completely. His pricing is not only fair but I feel extremely competitive. I don't shop with anyone else for my stone and crystal needs. I encourage everyone to visit the store. They service the public on Friday and Saturday. The rest of the week is reserved for wholesale customers only. If you are unsure of the hours or how to get there, please call. I have always gotten an answer to my questions and one of the employees actually gave me directions over the phone. If you are a small business owner and you are buying to resell make sure you bring a business card with you. There is a discount on a rising scale according to what you purchase. I always get at least 50% off whatever I purchase. They have hard to find stones, large and small stones, jewelry, chakra stones, bulk stones and so much more. I don't use the website as much because I like going to the store and picking my items personally. I would caution you when ordering online to know HOW to order. Most items are sold by weight and size. Many items are measured in grams. One gram is equal to one paperclip. Some items are measured in millimeters (mm). Look on a ruler but a millimeter is not much. They are some small stones and there are large stones. Know HOW to order before doing so or call to ask questions. I have to say that I would use the website without hesitation if I couldn't get to the store, and I have complete confidence in this store and its staff. I would like to address some of the other reviews that I have seen on this company. First of all I am shocked to see that they have received any bad reviews at all. Secondly, as I read the reviews from Rosana A and Bill B I noticed some troubling things. Their language and wording are almost identical. This is evidence that they know each other and that thier reviews are most likely fraudulent. I would bet that these people are not honorable in their intentions and I think their reviews should be read and taken with great caution. I have never experienced any of these issues and any shopper I have talked to has said that this store is the best out there. Turn-around time was 6 days tho I live about 50 miles away, but that was ok. When I received my order, I found they had sent me some other customer's order. I immediately emailed them with all the details but when I didn't hear back I called the next day. The customer service line just rang and rang. I called back again later that day and let the phone ring until eventually I got voice mail, so I left a message referring to the wrong delivery and my detailed email. I received no reply. The next day I got an email from them advertising that they just brought a collection of stones from Tuscan, but still I received no reply regarding my wrong shipment. So I again called customer service that day and the phone just rang, so I called their accounting number and again got voice mail so I left yet another message. Still I heard nothing back. Now the question on my mind was, didn't somebody else get a wrong delivery? There should be another party contacting them to correct the wrong delivery; somebody else must have received my order. Wouldn't their be another party trying to correct this? I would think that would escalate matters to resolve the matter. The ironic thing is this company's invoice has a customer number, an customer purchase order number, and a PO number yet they couldn't get my order right. They also have a half page statement regarding their detailed return policy. You must obtain a RMA within 5 days to return an item to avoided additional shipping charges and restocking fees. One would think if that was the case they would be better at tracking their customer service issues. Is it actually possible to get a response in 5 days at all? I've already burned 3 days. In sum, I contacted my bank to take care of my reimbursement. I don't think I would ever hear from this company. I just sent their stuff back and will let the bank handle them. Extremely poor experience. Ordered a 44lb case of Amethyst Clusters over a month ago, and did not receive them. Called customer service over 30 times and could never get through. Left several voice and email messages with no response. If your interested in doing business with this company I recommend ((calling them first to see if someone picks up)) as this is the same number you will be calling if you have a problem, and you will quickly find their customer service to be nonexistent. HUGE selection of minerals and fossils, and the inventory is always changing. Prices are excellent!!! I actually live less than an hour away and they did respond to my inquiry about future orders being held for pickup to save on shipping costs, they will do it! Then I was taken on a tour of the facility and the selection of crystals and minerals is staggering. The tour opened up a new hobby for me and I look forward to returning once I educate myself a bit. I bought from them online 12 sacred geometry shapes (1 platonic solids sets and 8 dodecahedrons). I had 3 issues with my order: 1/ The main one is that none of the crystals is well cut. 2/ Prices between item is irrelevant: some dodecahedrons are at $13, other are at $25, saying that they are "crystal clear", but they are actually less clear than the $13 ones and only 10% bigger. 3/ The measurements of the dodecahedrons, usually done between two opposite sides is instead taken between two opposite vertex, resulting in wrongly bigger announced sizes. So I thought I would receive bigger shapes than I got. I bought these sacred geometry shapes because I use their specific properties in my work. The result is that they are useless (besides of just being pieces of Quartz). They don't have the property of their shape. Dodecahedrons don't have all their faces equal, the octahedron is far from having equilateral triangles and is completely squeezed. The tetrahedron is not regular either with a side bigger than the others. Even the cube has non-parallel sides and is chipped on one edge. Conclusion Don't buy online. Go to the shop and see what you will get before buying. read more

Poor experience. Ordered some stuff that came to almost $100, then found out after paying and after my order was already shipped, that the main item that I wanted most was out of stock. That was kind of ridiculous because I would have appreciated knowing that before I ordered. Updating the website would be a good idea. And then after receiving my package, something that was not listed as out of stock was not in the box. Got a refund, but still pretty pathetic. The crystals were okay, but one of them was really poor quality and not at all what the photo example showed. I understand they're all different but this was just awful. I also sent an email and asked a question about when something would be back in stock and the reply was extremely rude. I will absolutely not be ordering from PG again. I have ordered from these guys a couple times. Everthing came in fine, but you really have to read the descriptions carefully and know your metric system. Items can be alot smaller then the picture. Items ship to Ohio and securely packaged. We did receive one broken druzy specimen, we called and they immediately gave us a refund and told us to keep the item. i placed an order online with this company for $500 worth of product -- they substituted inferior size and quality auralite and shipped it priority mail at an extravagant cost when their website states they will select the least expensive shipping method. they deliberately over packed the shipment with used newspapers and a dozen priority mail boxes, free packing supplies rather than bubble wrap -- because the consumer pays for the shipping. beware -- steve the owner has advised that although he acknowledges they deliberately shipped smaller lower quality product for which i paid shipping and duty/taxes he does not feel any responsibility for a credit or for supplying the actual product ordered. for someone who sells metaphysical crystals this business is seriously out of integrity and needs to be avoided unless they clean up their business practises. read more

I have ordered from Pelham Grayson twice now and have been extremely disappointed with the service. Slow shipping with little to no communication whatsoever. Twice now they have shipped me the wrong crystal even after I politely pointed out their mistake. My last order of 44lb of citrine clusters were all broken and in very bad shape. On top of that they were all fake heat- treated amethyst! All of their citrine is fake and crumbling because of the extreme heat treatment. Their selection is huge and prices are good but the money I lost on my order of citrine was very hefty. I have never experienced such bad service from an online vendor. read more

I have done business with Pelham Grayson for over a year now. I have been happy with all of my purchases up until the most recent one. Pelham Grayson does not let you know what shipping is until after they ship the package. For the most part it has been totally fine. However, I recently received a package via UPS Ground Delivery. The box was 4x4x4 and weighed exactly 1 lb. The shipping was $22.42. I contacted Pelham Grayson multiple times (6 emails in total. The first message was 14 days ago). I have not received 1 response from them. So, I am now leaving them a review regarding their professionalism, which is seriously lacking. I was very polite with my message to them. I was just asking why shipping cost so much for a package weighing exactly 1lb sent via UPS Ground Delivery. They have some great prices, but they make up for it by jacking up the price on shipping which they clearly are not paying even close to the amount they charge for.
