Erin did my engagement photos and wedding photos many years back and we loved them. She was great with picking spots and helping us pose- I am definitely NOT a natural in front of the camera, but she made it comfortable and fun, and we really love all the pictures we got out of it! Very natural and very 'us'. I hadn't had any professional photos since then though, because #1, I'm terrible at planning and prioritizing things like that (esp without a major reason/event, like a wedding), and 2, it didn't seem like it was really within my budget right now. However, being on her mailing list all this time I saw that she sometimes offers mini sessions and I finally took the plunge over the holidays with my 4 year old. It was great- it was super quick and easy, AND affordable. She's great with kids, keeping them talking and smiling and posing all while taking photos rapid-fire. Since it was a mini session, I was just hoping for a couple of good shots to use for our Christmas cards. Instead we got so many good ones it was really hard to choose which ones to use! I'm so happy to have these photos and am now fully convinced this is something I need to prioritize annually as my son grows up. For many years now, we've begun a tradition of taking professional family photos whenever we're on vacation - particularly if there are some iconic landmarks/scenery. We've gone to Erin for our family photos for about 3 years now and have been extremely happy with the whole experience. From online booking, to follow up email with details and tips for day of shoot, to the shoot itself (we love the mini's because they are only 20 minutes long and with small children that's about how long mine will last at a photo shoot), and ending with proofs, and the final photos that are delivered via a link and I can look at at my convenience. It's all seamless. Further to the photos themselves, I don't know how Erin does it but in 20 minutes she captures the essence of my kids perfectly ~ our whole gallery wall is photos she took! Erin is a wonderful photographer - extremely talented - fun to be around and does a wonderful job at capturing special moments. For me, I was looking for some great pics of my boys (6 and 4) outside. Erin was there on time, had a plan for the shoots, got it done, and captured the essence of the boys. Erin is magic. I don't love being in front of the camera but sometimes it just has to happen (in this case for a business headshot and family photos) and I honestly can't believe what comes back when Erin is the one behind the camera. She captures the best of everyone in the shot while keeping the session light, fun and authentic. This is the second time my family has worked with Erin and I will say, with all my years of engagement both professionally and personally with photographers, Erin is among the absolute best, particularly with families and small kids. She is extremely professional, but warm and engaging and sets everyone at ease. My first time with Erin, the session was with a week-old baby and his big sister, who was still transitioning into her new relationship with this noisy little creature in her life. Erin perfectly captured the budding love between the two; the vulnerability of the little girl but also her rapture for this new little soul; her overall happy personality; and the profound joy of the parents with the little family they had created. One could not tell that there had been no sleep for days, for anyone. Everyone looked just beautiful and oh so happy!! This second time was a family shoot of 16 with two sets of grandparents and their two separate family groups. The grandkids ranged from age 9 years to 4 months and it was absolutely wild. The older kids knew Erin and were smiley and cooperative; the younger ones were of their own minds and one, in particular, would have nothing to do with the session. It did not matter - the final result from Erin was absolutely wonderful and a true treasure for us all. Even the little stinker looked happy and a part of the joy, though Erin had to follow him all over the gardens to make it happen. We had a great experience with Erin at her studio in July for our daughter's newborn session. Her studio is well lit by natural sunlight and the simplicity of her studio made for a clean, nice background in the photos. Her suggestions for poses and the order of picture taking (based on who was the least antsy or who was the most focused at the moment) ended up being spot on. You can tell she works with kids a lot; she knew just what to do. I have 2 young, active boys and she did a great job of distracting them and capturing some of the best photos I have of them. One of them didn't want to take pictures at one point and she knew to give him space and then tried again later, letting him look at pictures of himself in her camera. It worked like a charm. When the photo gallery was emailed, I was so in love with the images that I was stressed about picking thirty! I ended up buying the whole gallery and I do not regret it.
