We needed a mover last minute because U-Haul's movers no showed. We thought AB Moving saved the day even though they charged us 3 times the price since it was last minute but after they did our move that day I noticed that one of my handguns that I keep under our master bed was missing. I called the manager who helped us move that day and he said maybe I packed it. I spent a week going through every box to make sure it wasn't packed even though I know I didn't pack it. I never found it. Their mowers made me feel like I was in the way so I went into another bedroom with my dogs to calm them down while they did our master bedroom. Little did I know they would steal my firearm that cost $700. I spent weeks talking to customer service and a manager at AB Moving trying to resolve the issue, filled a stolen firearm report with the Dallas Police Dept. Long story short after following up with them for 2 months their initial offer was based on the weight of the stolen items, they offered me $25 and for me not to complain about it publicly, see their email offer below: We have reviewed your claim and would like to offer you $25.00 back from your move as settlement. 1. Springfield pistol - 4 LBS 2. Springfield gun case - 3 LBS 3. Holster - 1 LB This offer was based on the coverage of cargo liability provided on your quote. Information is included in your Contract for moving services. We have attached the contract for moving service. Coverage information is located on page 1. It is stated on estimate and was sent out a couple of time prior to move date that we do not handle/transport firearms. Please complete attached Release form and provide the last 4 digits of the card you used with us and we will refund this card. In response to this email is acknowledgment that the carrier and its agents are discharged from any and all future claims, law suits, complaints of any nature pertaining to this claim. I told them this was completely unacceptable, someone stole a FIREARM from my house and knows where I live. They then offered me $100. Aweful service, I cant believe movers would have the nerves to steal a loaded firearm from someones house and then management would have the nerve to address it with an offer of a $25 refund. The phone staff as well as the movers were all very friendly and professional. I had no problem with the service I received. My issue is with the cost. I was given a 2 hour time window with 3 movers as my estimate. I was moving out of a two bedroom townhome in to a 3 bedroom home and we didn't have a particularly large amount of stuff. The quoted costs was somewhere between $200 and $300, I don't remember the exact number.We were even asked to provide both addresses for the estimate, which I assumed would be used to figure travel time in to the estimate.The move ended up taking over 4 hours, including the movers stopping to get some gatorades on their way from the old home to the new home. We ended up paying over $700. If the time and money estimate ended up both being twice as much as the original estimate for a move that was not particularly complicated for a house that was only 1240 square ft., then I don't think a lot of thought was put in to making a good estimate, and I'm inclined to think this was on purpose. I suspect the business model is to intentionally give misleading estimates that make it seem like a great deal, but then the work takes way longer than that and the customer has already signed agreement to pay what ends up being literally twice as expensive. read more

Worst experience I've ever had with a move, and I've moved many times (twice across country). Our bed was completely destroyed, and the crew readily admitted that they did not disassemble the legs, did not wrap it, and did not secure it in the truck. The bed cost $1200 to replace, not to mention the stress of not being able to sleep in a bed while we searched for a new one in the middle of a move. The company did not care that the crew admitted they did not move it correctly, and relied on their "policy" to only offer $150 for the damage. Unless you want to watch like a hawk to make sure your items are packed correctly, do NOT hire this company. I will also say that they significantly underrepresented the time it would take to move, and my guess is they know you will bring them back the next day to finish (at additional cost of course). I've used for 2 moves. On a positive note the staff has been great. The problem I'm having is that both times the communication was great until I needed something. My first move a box was lost and I emailed multiple times and they never replied. Then my second move I was told I'd receive a discount for being a second time client. This was not conveyed to the movers and so they said to follow up to get reimbursed. I've emailed 3 times with no response. Additionally I was told movers would be there around 1230 about 30 minutes before when they called ahead, but they showed up around 2 claiming an accident caused the back up, which was also frustrating. read more

Prior to 3/12/21 we have used an moving company a total of 4 times without no problem, most recently on 3/11/21 when I had to move. However on 3/12/21 the experience was exceptionally poor during a move for my girlfriend, the crew that showed up was very unprofessional and demanded payment prior to unloading a quarter of her stuff. They threatened to take the rest of the stuff and leave if no payment was made prior to the move being completed. One of the crew connected me to someone named fernando who claimed to be the manager who didn't not help at all and would not escalate the call to assist. For almost a week, I had an appointment set for Friday morning between 10 and 12. They confirmed it. I called at 10 to see what time they might arrive and they said that the estimator had forgot and that he could not come out until the following Wednesday (due to the back up from the weather) when the move was set for Thursday. They were not willing to come out over the weekend to make up for their mistake. Completely unprofessional and wasted my time. I'll not use them or recommend them to anyone. During the last hour of moving we hear a loud thump upstairs and I go upstairs to look and see they broke my wife's custom made desk chore and when I adressed the worker "how did the desk chore break?" He tells me " I don't know" and then they start attempting to fix the dresser chore without asking for our permission. When we go to check on the desk the desk chore completely falls apart. Look at the pictures, unacceptable. When I addressed to the workers as well about a family member using their services and only took them 2 hrs, Alex the leader of the crew tells me we should have gotten the names of the crew who helped the family member for reference and used that crew instead? What?!? So you are telling me this company is inconsistent with hiring good workers? That i should ask for certain crew members by name to get good work? Last but not least we had our new neighbors across the street bring us home baked cinnamon rolls as a gift as we were new to the neighborhood and guess what ALEX ate 1 of the cinnamon rolls with his dirty hands when he had been moving our furniture. He did not ask, just grabbed one and we wouldn't have even noticed if it weren't for our friend who saw him take one without our permission. Its not even about the food, if he had asked I would have given him one but to just take 1 as if you live here when it was a welcome gift from our new neighbors shows that AB company does not respect their clients nor their belongings. I am disgusted with this overall service. They were great, a little late but they gave is adequate heads up. Respectful of stuff, nothing was damaged during the move. We did previously move almost all of our non furniture stuff by ourselves. They were fast. They were nice and I felt very comfortable working with them. One of them liked cats! (I like cats too) As a general rule l, I would recommend understanding how moving companies work: for example. They are insured in that if they break your stuff, they pay 60 cents per pound of stuff they break, which obviously does not really cover the cost of anything. All moving companies are like that. I moved almost all of my likely to break expensive stuff previously in smaller boxes so circumvent this possibility. Also they offer pricing by the flat rate or by the hour 105$. I ended up going with flat rate but the price literally didn't make a difference for my specific move. They reserve the option of changing you to hourly on site if they feel that the walk from your apartment to their car is unreasonable. read more

I can't comment on the price & time since this is my first time using professional movers, but they seemed to work very efficiently and were a friendly, respectful group of guys. They gave us a 30 minute heads up before arrival which was nice (since you are scheduled within a 4 hr window). They disassembled and reassembled furniture they thought would travel more safely in pieces, and nothing ended up broken or scratched. I've used AB moving for a total of 4 moves including my most recent on Friday, July 24th. I scheduled a team to move my wife and me from a 4th floor unit to a 1st floor unit in the same apartment building. When I was scheduling the call, I made sure to explain that I needed my bed disassembled and reassembled. The AB representative assured me that all of their teams have the proper tools to break down the bed. Please note, I've owned my bed frame for 6 years, and AB moving has always disassembled, moved, and reassembled my bed on every move! The movers moved all of my items and left the bed frame for last. However, when it came time to disassemble the bed, the movers stated that they did not have the proper tools and that some of their tools were stolen recently. They had some tools but they did not have the specific ones for my bed.They asked me to call a neighbor for tools, which I did but unfortunately my neighbor's tools were also not a fit for my bed. At this point, the move was already taking longer than anticipated and my back was against the wall. Without the proper tools to disassemble they could only move the mattress and the foundation and had to leave the frame, headboard and footboard. This was a huge inconvenience for my wife and me. So the next morning I had to purchase the tools for my bed frame and called my younger sister to come and help me move the bed frame since my wife is pregnant. While my sister and I carried the headboard, the headboard fell forward and broke due to the impact it had on the ground. The headboard and baseboard were one of the heaviest pieces of furniture we owned and should have been moved by professionals. If the movers had the proper tools, I would not have had to inconvenience my sister, buy tools, and have to carry the pieces across the building only for the headboard to break. I called AB moving the next day asking for a manager, but was told a manager would contact me on Monday. No one called on Monday, so I called again and someone from the company told me to fill out a claim form. I filled it out and they later offered me $50 and to sign a waiver of releasing them of any wrongdoing! Unbelievable. I refused to accept their petty offer. Instead, I want to inform the public to choose a more customer centric moving company. I've always had nothing but positive reviews for AB moving, even recommending them to all of my friends who move. Let me just state that my apt was a 900 sq foot apt on the 2nd floor. I had about 40 medium sized boxes that were not heavy. Stack-able washer and dryer, coffee table, bed, 1 sectional and 1 sofa. These wimpy ass boys just didn't want to have to work today. They said the job would take a very long time, over-explained their logic as to why I needed 3 men. (I moved into the damn place with only 2 movers and no issues) Finally got a call back from AB Dispatchers who THANKFULLY had 3 man crew available to assist. Before I could even tell the original 2 men that showed up, they were already gone. The 3 man crew were nice and they did wrap my furniture but I am not happy about how careless they were with my furniture, floors and walls. They were very polite and worked fast, but so ridiculously sloppy!! We had SEVERAL damaged items including an antique dresser mirror which has been in the family for 3 generations so far. Avoid this company for your moving needs. All my items were packed, disassembled and ready to move to the new location that was 3 minutes away. What should have been a 4 hr move became 7 hrs. They did not load all the items and then assumed they didn't have to go back to get them. What "professional" moving service does that? The only reason they went back to get the rest was because I insisted. They took items apart that have never been disassembled since purchasing them. It became evident that they were stuffing the bill. I requested to speak to a supervisor since all of the crew were probably under 25yo. The crew lead connected me to customer service who said she couldn't help me and would have a supervisor call. I never received a call. I mentioned no call back to the crew lead and he stated "call them yourself" and pointed to their phone number on his shirt. super disrespectful. When I finally got his supervisor in the phone, he was absolutely no help and did not think it was unusual for the two trips. All across the board the most unprofessional and disrespectful movers I have ever used. I moved apartments about a month ago and we went with AB Moving based on a friend's recommendation. We also liked the rates for three movers compared to others we looked at! Alamo Moving was our crew and they came earlier on in the window they gave us, which worked for us. They immediately got to work, saran-wrapping and covering all of the furniture. They were pretty quick and efficient, able to maneuver pretty tight staircases and very pleasant to interact with. They were also very patient as we tried to figure out the parking situation at our new apartment and didn't complain when they had to park across the street and wheel/carry our furniture to the service elevator. Huge plus, they were able to fix my headboard that I thought couldn't be repaired and fixed my roommate's box spring without us asking! We just mentioned they were broken, so that was really really nice of them. I would definitely go through AB Moving/Alamo Moving again! read more

The worst experience ever. I will never hire them again. First my arrival time was 8-10am. No one showed up at all. I called and spoke with Susie at 9:50 and my message was given to dispatch who was going to look into it. Never received that call. I called back 15 minutes later and was on hold for another 10 minutes trying to find out what happened. When a crew did finally show up it was 11:40am. They claimed they got lost to my Apartments when my Apartments is the only address listed in Google. They analyze the space and when I told them you guys need to be done by 3 so I can pick up my child from school. They said okay. Well for 2 and half hours they were extremely slow removing the items from my 2 bedroom apartment. When I moved into my apartment I had a 2 men crew who completed the work in 3 hours. I had no choice but to hire 3 men crew in which 1 would stay with his truck and the other 2 were so slow moving boxes it was not getting done timely. Finally at the 1 1/2 hour mark I finally said okay you guys need to work faster this is taking entirely too long. Magically they started working faster. Get to the destination apartment and because they were so slow in moving items I told them to just stack it all in my living room. I was beyond irritated at this point. I sent an email to Debbie let's see how long that takes to get a response back. Once I have it back I will post an update. I warn others not to use this company at all. I won't recommend this company to anyone. The crew was sweet but the lack of speed like they were running the clock just because they could was beyond me. I get that personal calls happen. Great. If you are thinking about using this company, you should look elsewhere. When I talked to Mike to get us set up, he told me that my move would take about 6-8 hours if we hired one crew with one truck or we could hire 2 crews with 2 trucks and he estimated it would take 3-4 hours. I decided to hire 2 crews, mind you I was paying double. Instead of sending out 3 guys on each crew, we only got 3 with one and 2 with the other. On top of that, our move took over 8 hours. I ended up paying over double the estimate. 1. While trying to get my refrigerator out of the laundry room, they damaged the newly painted wood trim on the doorway. 2. When we unwrapped our golf hand cart that they plastic wrapped super tight, the piece that holds up the golf clubs had snapped off and now is unusable. All this would have been fine if AB Moving had given us great customer service and taken care of the issues right away. But, we moved on Feb. 14th and we contacted Mike our sales rep the next day to share these issues. He didn't seem to care. He told my husband to just email customer service. We did and still have not heard anything back as of today, February 25th. This is completely unacceptable to have customer service completely ignore you after we paid over $2000 for a local move. read more

Not happy at all. The guys were friendly (no masks even though their website claims they are taking precautions) but as the day wore on they grew increasingly careless. Also the move ended up taking 8 hours! Shrink wrapping was pointless (see pics) most items were not completely wrapped and they damaged several items. When they loaded an antique dresser on its side on top of another piece of furniture caused major damage to both pieces. At the time I mentioned my concern and I was told "We take care of you. It be okay." They also put an additional piece against that dresser and it was damaged as well. Over all, 5 major pieces of furniture were damaged because of how they were packed. Since they didn't transport the storage cube (Upack did) it is in the contract they are not liable. It was, no doubt, the poor packing that caused the damage. This is the worst moving company I have ever used. I was forced to take this company to court over damages. On 3/28/21 AB Moving owner Kenny Baker was served with a Collin County Court Order Write of Execution demanding payment for a civil judgement against AB Moving, Kenny Baker dated 1/16/19. Mr. Baker failed to pay judgement and ignored all attempts for collection. On 4/28/21 Collin County, Plano, TX Constable served Execution to Kenny Baker. Constable served execution to Mr. Baker who was forced to pay the following: judgement amount interest @ 5.52.5% per year Constable service fee. I have provided all of the facts and necessary information of this case to the Texas Dept. of Transportation with hopes that they will investigate this belligerent and reckless company and take the appropriate action. The owner of this moving company simply didn't care. Having a constable show up at his door-step with a writ of execution forced him to honor the judgement against AB Moving. Stay clear of this company to avoid what I have experienced. read more
