Pharmacist almost never wears a mask. How can a medical facility claim to care for the health of its staff and customers if the pharmacist does not wear a mask. I have been a customer for more than a year. I go to the pharmacy 1 x a month. During the pandemic I have seen him wearing a mask two times. Those two times were recent... after I had spoken on the phone with the person who said they were the owner/manager. I will begin using a different pharmacy. read more

Great pharmacy! Just mood to the neighborhood and they have everything I need. The guy pharmacist was super helpful and even contacted my doctors office to move my prescriptions. The staff is also very knowledgeable in the products they sell and even went as far as to start stocking a product just for me. Wish I knew about this place sooner! read more

I had been going to this pharmacy once my insurance company no longer required me to fill my prescriptions through a specialty service. I had been quite happy with the more personal service in a small neighborhood shop. Then, a few days ago I called to refill my prescription and was told by the pharmacist, in an accusatory and nasty tone, that I need to take my business elsewhere as my insurance company "pays us so little". I was gobsmacked. I could not believe I was being told to go away. When I went into the store to collect my prescription that although it was a good thing to bring business to a small neighborhood store, I was NOT DOING THEM ANY FAVORS BECAUSE THEY LOSE MONEY ON MY TRYING TO STAY ALIVE. Super friendly small pharmacy. Switched from CVS to here and wish I would have done so sooner. Have ended up paying less for everything which was always something I worried about when switching. You have to call to refill your prescriptions BUT you always speak to a real person. They also use Blink and GoodRX which is helpful if you're uninsured or your insurance doesn't cover some medications. read more

Abacus is a fantastic Pharmacy. I have used them for years (transferred prescriptions when my pharmacy closed on 3rd Avenue). They pick up the phone when you call. No waiting on hold for 20-30 minutes (Walgreen's is the worst). They fill prescriptions quickly and even deliver. They are what you want in a pharmacy. A Pharmacist who is knowlegeable, that knows you, and, in my case, even recongizes my voice when I call. I cannot say enough good things about them. read more

I hope this awful place goes out of business. They sell ***COUNTERFEIT/FAKE/ KNOCK OFF product*** (that they're probably buying off amazon for cheap or god knows where else) and refuse to refund it...all the while never denying the product is indeed fake (which it is, confirmed). One of the female pharmacists is consistently rude....and i mean RUDE. I went in there to pick up my ADHD medication and, because of said ADHD, I spaced out a little while waiting for her to get off the phone. She not only yelled at me but literally rolled her eyes at me once I responded. The male pharmacist and younger female cashier are both lovely but this woman should not be working in the service industry. She went OUT OF HER WAY to be rude. read more

Amazing. Only word that can describe. I've been a CVS goer for years and I still use them for my shopping needs, but when it comes to scripts and pharmacy service Abacus Pharmacy is unparalleled. While other pharmacies are sometimes judgmental, unhelpful, cold, and run out of medication with no solutions, Abacus is the opposite in all regards. I'm a needy client and always call with so many questions about my scripts, but even so they are always so kind, so understanding and do everything in their power to help meet my needs. This place reminds me of the old days! (I'm 65yo) You knew the pharmacist, the place is warm & friendly, and the staff is helpful, knowledgeable, and incredibly courteous! My first visit, my Dr forgot to send over the Rx, they contacted him, filled the Rx while I waited, 10 minutes later, I'm out the door with the Rx! Try that at one of the pharmacy mills! This pharmacy is a neighborhood gem because they are extremely helpful and easy to deal with. The pharmacist is genuinely interested in accommodating the needs of neighborhood customers. Drug prices are fairly comparable to local chain drug stores (e.g., CVS, Duane Reade, Walgreen's). However, Abacus' store policies are much more flexible and pro-patient than its big corporate competitors whose pharmacists couldn't care less if you run out of medication early. I just wish Abacus Pharmacy had an automated system that could text you when a prescription is ready for pick-up. With regard to its non-pharmaceutical retail side, the shelves are organized and not too cluttered, and a variety of personal care items are available, including European brands and different sized items. read more

I called twice today, the first time I received incorrect information about naloxone, which she didn't know was available in NYC without a prescription, and the second time I was put on an interminable hold. Great customer service. I prefer coming somewhere like this as opposed to Duane Reade where customer service is non-existant!
