Looking at waiting area/check in kiosk for MinuteClinic.
Lori A.

*This review is primarily for the CVS Minute Clinic.* Location: Easy to find. Practically a five minute walk from the Port Authority Bus Terminal. It's also easy to spot once you're on site. Check in: Process was extremely easy. I actually made an appointment online the day prior. They sent me reminders emails and text messages. I had actually arrived earlier than I needed to be. Once I was all checked in, the kiosk instructed me to return to the patient waiting area when my appointment time was 5 minutes away. Wait time: I waited maybe 10 to 15 minutes tops around the patient waiting area before I was called into the back. The reason I didn't hang in the actual waiting area is due to the fact that it's a small square shaped area with only 4 seats. As my medical need did not affect my ability to stand comfortably, I chose to leave the seating open for someone who needed it and was without an appointment time. Exam room: Was very clean and comfortable. It was a good size and all necessary medical instruments that you'd normally see in a doctors office was there. In fact, I was here for a simple earwax removal irrigation and it was all prepped and ready for me. Nurse Practitioner: Attentive and personable. She was chatty without being overly chatty, matter of fact and professional. She asked the standard questions, took my identification and insurance card for scanning, took my vitals, looked into my ears and explained the procedure to me before getting started. During the process itself, she made sure to check my comfort level and the whole problem itself was solved within 10 minutes. If you've never had your ears irrigated, I have to tell you it's the best feeling. I was able to tell immediately once she had blasted the wax off of my ear drum because I suddenly had dual sound again. (I'm one of those people who just has excessive ear wax apparently.) Pro tip: If you're irrigating one ear, you may as well irrigate the other too. You start off on the same clean slate with both and you don't have to wait for your irrigated ear to adjust to the same sound level of the non-irrigated ear. The way the insurance scanner works, she wasn't able to tell me until she was writing post procedure notes that my insurance went through. (I was prepared to pay the $100 fee for the ear wax removal. Low price to hear again as far as I'm concerned.) She instructed me to return if I had any sudden pain in my ear, etc. All in all, if I have this issue again, I'd be happy to return to this clinic for service. As for the downstairs portion of the store: the fact that you have to call for assistance with the beverages and frozen desserts says a lot about the issues this store must face being in such close proximity to Times Square nowadays. It's a two level store and only as I was exiting did I see maybe 4 employees. Naturally they had signs announcing they were hiring as most businesses do at this time. Also they no longer carry paper advertisements so if you want to see anything, use the app or the in store kiosk.

I wonder if they will put this on their CVs

I wanna become a girl, so that I can shop at She-VS instead. They were nice enough to point me in the direction of the nearest bathroom which was across the street at Starbucks. For that I appreciate them even though their prices are as ridiculously high as at every other CVS.

Clean but some expensive prices, probably due to being in the city. Small isopropyl alcohol bottle for cleaning wounds was over $3.60 where it would only be $1 at ShopRite in Jersey City. Two floors, pharmacy is upstairs.

It's YUUUUUUUGE!!!~

Wow~~~ huge two story CVS in midtown. Looks new and definitely has everything with variety! Didn't think it was that big until I saw the upstairs~ If it was only closer to my house, then I'd go~ Take a look~

You would think with Pepsi being headquartered in New York, it would be a little easier to come by,…read morebut seemingly every restaurant and/or quick stop has Coke. Traveling the streets of New York, I had built up a thirst, and saw there was a CVS close to Grand Central where i was going to be doing a tour, and grabbed a Mtn Dew and a bag of chips for a quick snack. Easy in and easy out. The store seemed clean, and although I didn't encounter any employees as I used the self-checkout, the interactions I saw seemed positive. All and all, thank you, CVS, for having Mtn Dew in stock and available.

Recently I'd ordered two bottles of Extra Strength Antacid Tablets from CVS, when I had a discount…read morecoupon. Unfortunately their expiration date is just several months from now, and meanwhile each bottle has 250 pills (admittedly the suggested dosage is 3 pills at-a-time, but still....). There's no way we'd consume anywhere near 500 of those pills by their expiration date, so I wanted to exchange them for bottles that have a more reasonable expiration. Today I had to be just one block from this store for a medical appointment, and fortunately there were (only) two bottles available - and their expiration date was *much* more generous. I went to the cashier's counter, and the cashier explained that she needed to have a supervisor handle the exchange (and I'd brought my receipt with me). The shift supervisor was inexplicably *nasty*, and from the very beginning. Meanwhile; she told me she couldn't do an "even exchange" because the flavor was different than the ones I'd purchased (?!) - so she said I'd have to return the ones I'd bought and then purchase the other ones. I told her that I'd used a discount coupon when making the purchase, whereas a "new" purchase would *not* provide the discount. She continued being nasty and suddenly disappeared, and then she *finally* reappeared many minutes later. At that point she told me she'd confirmed with the store manager what she'd told me - but she should have had the courtesy to at least tell me why she was suddenly leaving, and her nastiness was totally inexcusable. Now I'm going to contact the CVS Customer Service Department, but I shouldn't have to waste so much time re: this situation - and most importantly, CVS shouldn't have an employee who's so nasty. (The only reason why I'm giving two stars instead of one is because a very pleasant employee helped me find the location of the pills).
