August 17, 2021 Aqua…read moreZumba ...I do NOT recommend it. 0 stars The 5 stars is for H2O...ONLY. H2O location is awesome, great parking, it's for PT and rehab...it's a nice new facility with good equipment and amenities. REVIEW is part 2 of "Aqua Zumba " soo, I originally paid for 5 classes and I've now completed 3. (hindsight fail) Now, all of you know that Zumba is fast dance moves, right? Starts out high impact then eventually slows its pace, correct? Ok...so, tell me, how does a teacher justify teaching water Zumba without: 1) getting into the pool 2) without modifying the dance moves I mean, she does realize we are floating, right? We are buoyant, right? We can't ever move fast, right? Geez! But, hey...these old ladies appear to enjoy themselves with this pseudo workout (and maybe that's why, LOL?!) I too, am 60 so I can say "old", ok, but, I do not enjoy or get anything out of this class. I modify the exercises as best as I can, I'm no expert but, I want to get a workout; and gawd knows the teacher definitely gets her work out on...I mean, she's on land doing regular Zumba exercises. I will complete the last 2 classes ONLY because I prepaid... but, it's a hard NO on any recommendation to Aqua Zumba. My suggestion: Modify the exercises to accommodate water buoyancy...teach the class in the water.

My therapist, Tisha Enriquez, was awesome. She was patient and gentle, but still encouraging enough to force me to do things that didn't feel so great when I first started. And by the end of my six weeks, I was doing them almost perfect - well, ok, not perfect, but definitely made a big improvement! I was quite proud of myself as a 70+ year old! The pool was clean and a perfect temperature for spring. The equipment was easy to use and well kept up. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. It was a pleasure to get in the pool, move around with less pain, and improve my health at the same time. After six weeks there, I not only gained more strength to help me deal with my disc problem, but also the knowledge to continue the exercises at home now that I am done. Highly recommended and I'll go back as soon as my medical insurance will let me!

You see staff hardly washing or using sanitizer. They don't have alot of hand sanitizer stations on wall like most places. But then again, this place is run out of an old school from the 1900's.Our mom was getting sick from all the mold everywhere.

He was depressed and not taking his medication regularly. A few days later he has a seizure. They took him to UTMB ER room Friday night and call me. After he was checked by the ER doctor, they said there was nothing wrong with him. Seizure happens occasionally with stroke victim as the brain recovers. Called tlc Saturday morning to see if we can get someone to help take him back there. Much to our surprise, TLC refuses to take him back. WTF!! Luckily Utmb admits him to the hospital. Called tlc up Monday morning, they tell me medical director refuses to take him back and will not even have the courtesy to talk to me in person. Well, that is one way to keep your success rate up, dump your more difficult patient off at the local ER room. My health insurance company tells me a few days later than it was I who didn't want to bring him back to TLC. No!!! You guys dumped him at the ER room!! Disgraceful on your part!!!' At least help me find some alternatives!!'

I called to book my appointment the day before and spoke with Angie. She had a beautiful disposition over the phone. She was sweet, kind, and helpful. I knew that whomever I got my massage from was going to be great and to my surprise, it was Angie. I loved her techniques, and her presence. She was relaxed, moved slowly and methodically. Her nonintrusive conversation was exactly what I was looking for. She took her time and made me feel extremely comfortable. She asked questions to make sure that the pressure was right or that my neck was comfortable, and if I needed work on any specific area. She was thoughtful and, very professional. I'd highly recommend her. The space is calming with the dim lights and soft music. The bed was very comfortable. I enjoyed the hot stones and towels. And, because I have a sprain on my left ankle she offered to put a cold compress on it throughout the duration of my massage which soothed it tremendously. My body feels relaxed, looser, lighter, and cared for. I'll definitely visit again soon.
