The salesperson who came to measure rushed through, missed some important things. Second, he failed to remember or just ignored an important item so a feature we really wanted didn't happen and we weren't told it wouldn't happen. This last bit felt like a deliberate change because it would have involved them getting a part from another company. Not ok. Feels like they figured by the time we got their cabinets--which took a long time (!) we'd settle. We did but not happily. Insist they take time with you or send them away. There are other companies making fine cabinets.

After careful review I choose to work with Gmwoodworks. The job went along great. He fixed problems that we never saw under the old siding and wrapped the house properly in tyvek. All the while his workmanship and attention to detail were seccond to none. The way he kept us informed on the progress made us feel like we knew what we were looking at.:) The house has new siding and some stone work under the overhang, and now is by far the nicest in the neighborhood. After he completed the siding we had him quote a new deck out back for us. The price was workably so in two weeks times we had a new deck out back. The deck is curved in the front and covered with compostie decking with composite railings and looks beautiful. The whole structure including footings is solid and we don't expect any problems for many, many years to come. If anyone around Rutland Vt is looking for a good, honest, hard working, carpenter then you need to call Mark @ (802)345-1897 We are soooooo happy that we did and would gladly work with him in the future. Broke 3 baseboards in my House and never told me, but tried to cover it up. When I pointed It out he said he'd fix it. He never did. Scratched up the New paint on my walls. Some of the laminate flooring is not Set down correctly. Cut holes at the tops of my stairs, Denied it and wouldn't fix it. Had my son bring up the paint from the cellar and Jon brought white trim paint to fill all the nail holes he Put in my new baseboards then never did it. He left one Day without saying anything and just never came back. The entire time he was Doing this job he showed up sporadically and with no Warning or explanation for why he never showed up. I always had to attempt to contact him. He is completely unreliable, does poor work, and doesn't finish the job. He is not professional and only wants your money, Doesn't care if you're satisfied or even if he finished the Job at all. The whole dreadful experience took weeks Longer than expected. Now I've spent a month so far Trying to get him to finish or give me back the extra money I paid him.
