I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding an incident that occurred during my recent visit to ABB Waxing. I have been a loyal customer for over 10 years and, until this experience, I have consistently received excellent service from your establishment. The issue began when I arrived for my appointment and was assigned to a different waxer than the one I specifically requested when scheduling. I advised the staff that I had requested my regular waxer, and after reviewing my file, they acknowledged the error and informed me that she would be with me shortly. As always, she provided exceptional service and was professional, kind, and courteous throughout my appointment. Unfortunately, the experience took a negative turn as I was checking out. The owner advised me that in the future I should make sure to specify which waxer I wanted. I politely explained that I had, in fact, requested her by name and had stated it twice during the scheduling call. At that point, a front desk employee interjected and stated that I had not made the request and told me that I needed to "come correct." I was shocked by both the tone and the statement itself. I respectfully questioned what she meant and why she felt it was appropriate to speak to a customer in that manner. Rather than de-escalating the situation, the employee continued her behavior by rolling her eyes, kissing her teeth, and repeating the same statement. THE OWNER DID NOTHING BUT SMILE. When I asked him if this how you are going to allow your staff to speak to your customers, he laughed and stated "I don't know whats going on... I don't speak this new age slang." As a long-time customer, I found this treatment disrespectful, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. After the incident, I posted a review detailing my experience. To date, no one from management or corporate has contacted me directly to discuss what occurred. Instead, a public response was posted to my review stating that the employee had been terminated. What concerns me further is that the response appeared to be signed by the waxer who performed my service. I find this unusual, as I would not expect a service provider to have access to or authority over public review responses regarding personnel matters. Additionally, I removed my review after discovering that my full name had been publicly posted. I found this to be inappropriate and concerning from a privacy standpoint. At this point, I am requesting clarification regarding the following: 1. Has the matter been formally investigated? 2. Is the statement regarding the employee's termination accurate? 3. Why was the response signed by someone who was not management? 4. Why was my full name disclosed publicly? 5. What steps are being taken to ensure that other customers are not subjected to similar treatment? I have been a loyal customer for over a decade, and I never expected to be treated in this manner. While I appreciate that mistakes can happen, the lack of direct communication and the concerns surrounding the public response have only added to my frustration. Like I said before 0 out of 10 I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!!!! Update: Unfortunately, my disappointment continues. The owner, Joseph, left me a voicemail filled with excuses rather than a genuine apology or any accountability. I called him today hoping we could have a respectful conversation and come to some type of understanding. Instead, he repeatedly cut me off whenever I tried to speak and even attempted to blame me for my reaction to the situation. I am honestly speechless. I've tried this place several times over the years, and it's always been hit or miss. I happened to be in the area recently, stopped in, and made an appointment. I returned 20 minutes later at my scheduled appointment time, then waited another 25 minutes without being seen or given any update. At that point, I simply left. Respecting customers' time should be a basic priority. read more

I am a Brazilian who has been getting waxed for many years. Everyone knows that when you find a person that can do the job in a professional way you became loyal. Well, I just moved from Hollywood to Edgewater and was looking for a new waxing place. I was a little skeptical of trying AAB Waxing but I had no reason to be. Eleydis assisted me, using green algae wax, which was at perfect temperature for waxing. Eleydis is a woman of few words but she did a great job. But, in her defense, I didn't go there to have a conversation, but to get wax done. The front desk assistant, Mara, was pleasant and informative. Overall, thumbs up! They have a loyalty stamp card and when it is filled completely you get 15% off of a service. They also have 10% off with Yelp check in for first time, so of course I used it . I had a truly wonderful wax at ABB's Normandy location today. I'm from out of town and found this place on Yelp, and I'm so happy I did! I'm returning to my town tomorrow and I'm going to see my BF straight from the airport. I was desperately in need of a same-day Brazilian and they not only fit me in exactly when I needed, but also fit me in for a manicure and the best hard-wax Brazilian I've ever had. My waxer, Diane, was super meticulous and really got everything. She even took out the tweezers and got the little hairs she couldn't get with the wax - I'm now totally smooth down there and really happy about it : ) The prices are also great. I go to a place in Boston that is RENOWNED for only having $45 Brazilians, and this place is like $10 cheaper than that for a Brazilian on a regular day! However, since it was my first time being there, it was only $25!!!! Seriously, this is an amazing price. The atmosphere is absolutely wonderful, the little bungalow house it's in is adorable and everything is immaculately clean, gorgeous, and well-designed. You can tell they put a lot of love into it. When I come back to Miami this is definitely where I'll go, and if I lived here I'd be back every couple of weeks for a wax and a manicure!! read more

I used to go to another chain on the beach (uni k) and after checking out this place i started coming here instead. Its the same type of hard, thick green wax, but i find the technicians gentler than other places. They are open 7 days a week and i usually can get an appt. for the same day. Ive had several technicians and no problems. Only down side is you cannot add tip on credit card so DONT FORGET TO BRING CASH FOR TIP. First and last time ever coming back to this waxing salon. Hospitality up until I walked in was great, they greeted me by name and were very friendly. However I was laying for a full Brazilian wax as well as an eyebrow wax and the woman who worked on me was just awful. THIS WAS THE WORST WAX IVE EVER HAD ! Not even my first wax was this painful. The wax was too hot which she didn't ask if it was perfect temperature, I told her to stop and she told me to "stop moving" and insist that she finish the job. So instead I got like a landing stripe wax which they called a deep Brazilian ? Charged me for a full Brazilian and oh yeah my growth is already back in the first week ? Then I told her NO! Because she was pulling the wax off of my skin way to slow and it was unbearable that I didn't want to finish. She also implied to remind me why I came to get a wax in the first place and said " STOP MOVING YOU ARE VERY HAIRY" .. I mean I don't even know why anyone would mention that! She was completely unprofessional and wanted to remind me how long she has be doing wax's for as if would keep me on the table. My eyebrows was a joke and I was completely unsatisfied with all of the services here, this women shouldn't be able to even use wax on people. My skin was irritated by the overheated wax plus pain ! Upon checkout I was charged full price for an half ass job, and wasn't even compensated for my unpleasant experience. The receptionist asked how my wax was and I told her and she didn't seem not one bit and didn't do anything to try to make my first time appointment any better. Extremely disappointed at the experience I had here. I get Brazilian waxes faithfully every 3 weeks at ewc but wanted to try somewhere closer and a bit cheaper but I made the worst mistake ever. Im not even sure who waxed me but I was burned very badly to the point where my intimate area was red and raw. I ended up speaking to the owner and sent her pictures and she wanted me to come in to look at the burns. I ended up going to the doctor and was told I have first degree inner labia burns and to not return to the establishment. Not even sure why I was waxed there as the skin is so thin and NO HAIR GROWS THERE. To make matters worse the wax itself was terrible and I already have a stubble in certain areas and it has only been 4 days. When I let the owner know, she claimed this had never happened before (I find that hard to believe) and told me that my next wax would be free, but honestly I won't return and I hope you don't either. I wish I could post pictures of what it looked like initially. Luckily it is starting to heal. PS: they reuse the wax sticks instead of using a new stick each strip which means that not only is it super unsanitary due to germs but it is also unsafe. I saw it with my own eyes and the owner confirmed it over the phone. She said it was "ok" because they are using the other side of the stick but it is just straight up NASTY. read more

I have high hormones so therefore I have major facial hair which I usually shaved but I decide to stop and go back to waxing. Nikki did her thing and removed those unwanted hairs in a timely manor. The place is located right on Biscayne Blvd at 69th in the same complex as Starbucks, Subway and Boutique Kitchen. The staff is extremely friendly and courteous. I think it's $15 for eyebrows and $20-25 for full Brazilian. Much cheaper than my south beach place. They use high quality wax that never irritates (and i'm sensitive). Now that the Uni-K in my hood is currently out of business, I thought I was stuck with the option of going to the Beach or the Gables for a wax job -- in other words traffic and parking woes. So I was happy to discover this location near downtown -- a couple of blocks from Dogma!! The receptionist was super friendly professional and helped squeeze me in. There is a private parking lot for customers. The facilities are clean and the service efficient and professional. I'm still a fan of my esthetician at Uni-K, but until I find her again, I'll be coming back to A.B.B. especially now that I can have another excuse to grab a hot dog snack. Us girls have so many things we "need" to do to stay feeling sexy. Waxing wasn't necessarily one of those things that made its way onto my list (call me the biggest, scary cat EVER!) But, when it gets to the point where spending your summer in Miami, a refusal of this kind could mean endless days spent in the shower shaving almost daily in order to be beach ready. Sounds like loads of fun, right? Wrong. So, I bit the bullet and decided that as an almost 30-year old, it was time to grow up a little and *dun dun dun* get a Brazilian bikini wax once and for all! I ran to my favorite online store (Amazon) and looked up the most reviewed numbing cream, ordered a tube of No Scream Cream, downed a few Advils, and made my way over to ABB Wax Salon. What could have been the end of my life (I started a mental gratitude list as I lay on the waxing table, you know... in case I didn't make it out!) and waited for Gisele, the nice technician who would be operating on me today. She made me feel instantly comfortable and told me it was useless to have bought and tried that cream (gooooo Amazon reviewers!) and that in fact, it could potentially make the wax process even harder. This was going to be awesome. I must admit, it would have been so much easier if she'd just administered the general anesthesia I'd kindly asker her for ;-), but seeing as she was fresh out (shucks), she was extremely gentle and motivated every step of the way: "you're doing great!" "It's almost done." Honestly, she did a great job and gave me some priceless advice for next time (yes, I survived and there WILL be a next time. Ladies, give yourself the gift of a shave-free summer and mosey on down to ABB. Make sure you ask for Gisele. So $16 for eyebrow cleaning $20 eyebrow waxing what????? I don't get it so I got there with an appointment thinking I always have my eyebrows done I don't need them reshapped. Although the lady explained to me all they do for $16 is wax around the eye. If I want it shaped it is $20. What I am lost I don't get it at a waxing place $20 for eyebrows with these reviews. They are crazy every place I have been if you look at all the comparable places charge $15 so when I looked on the website $16 was fine. I get there with an appointment and then left. I've been waxing since I was 13. I can say without hesitation that this is the best waxing experience I've ever had. Booking the appointment was very easy. The location includes parking and is very clean. I found this business through a friend who described her experience as relaxing. Having never heard a waxing experience be described that way, I obviously had to try for myself. I have to fully agree that my experience was relaxing (which is a tough thing to accomplish when a stranger is yanking hair from your privates). I had been on the hunt after moving to new part of miami and having terrible experiences at other salons (double dinning, dirty locations, infections, poor technique), I am so happy to have found this place. One reviewer mentioned that they re-use wax. That is total B.S and probably someone who works for the company they are plugging instead. At ABB they have a full room dedicated to sanitizing and warming the wax pots. I was surprised when my waxer brought in a fresh pot of wax to use on me. Pros: - Very good deal for the price. Dominique did a great job - I think (and my husband agrees) this is the cleanest and most thoroughly done wax yet, and I've had about six. - No double-dipping, and no skin irritation. Cons: - Not a good neighborhood. Never went to a business where you had to be buzzed in, but then again, I'm not from the area. - The place could've used a good cleaning. It had a smell that said it hadn't had one in QUITE some time. One thing to note - I learned that "Brazilian" wax doesn't have the same meaning everywhere. In San Diego & Atlanta it means all your business (front and rear) is waxed. Miami uses "Bikini" instead and doesn't include the rear (it's $15 more). read more

As a veteran "waxee", I can say ABB really takes the "ouches" and "oi's" out of the whole waxing process. The staff is professional, diligent, and fastidious. In my last two Brazilian waxing experiences, I had the pleasure of meeting Sade and Jessica. The ladies both finished before I could even whimper "could you give me a minute to breathe?" The wax ABB uses has a creamy consistency, and pulls off without cotton strips, making it particularly effective and gentle on any skin type. The rooms are clean and sanitized, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. And the price? 35 dollars for a full Brazilian. Before I discovered ABB, I thought prices like that only existed in Brazil. It really means something that my first and only experience at this place was so bad that I took the time to write my first ever review on Yelp. My experience here deserves the 1-star rating twice over. First, I was immediately put off by the general atmosphere. There was an odd smell, and I felt somewhat uncomfortable. I was ready to maybe shell out a little more for what I knew would be a quality experience at European Wax Center. But for some reason, I stupidly ignored my gut feeling, wrote it off as overall stress, and went through with the appointment. What a mistake. This waxing was the most painful and drawn out one I have ever experienced. I'm not new to waxing and I am by no means a wuss when it comes to pain. I have never, EVER bled during a wax appointment, but I did this time. It was probably because the wax was being tugged off in torturous little pulls without the skin being held taut first. It was just being yanked off one-handed, causing my skin to be pulled away from my body. The woman who I had my appointment with also made some remarks about my appearance that made me immediately feel insulted. Whatever paper they use to line the seat/platform you sit on will disintegrate if you sweat at all (which you will, because the experience will hurt more than you will expect it to). This revealed a dingy-looking cushion underneath which left me vowing that I'd be showering as soon as I got home. The entire thing was just so painful and tiring that when I left in a painful stupor, I didn't realize that a huge portion of the waxing had not been effective. I went to wear a skirt to work and when I got outside, I looked down in the sunlight and noticed so many areas that hadn't been waxed that I had to go back inside and change clothes. Worse, after only two days, I realized what had appeared to have been successfully waxed had simply broken the hair at the root. I might as well have just shaved my legs for most of it. Here's the second reason this place deserves 1 star: The manager. At first, he took my complaint and offered to comp the exact same wax services at no charge. I was so impressed with his customer service skills that I conceded to booking another appointment with a different person and in a different room. I wasn't able to wear skirts or shorts and wouldn't be able to for another 3 weeks, but it couldn't be helped at this point and I could only move forward. I had to postpone the touchup because I was not feeling well and then had to leave for an overseas trip immediately after. Then I had to reschedule another time because I got sick AGAIN. Horrible. But eventually I was able to go back in for my appointment once everything was going right again. I walked in and the receptionist told me that the manager, Joe, had put a note on my file that the wax was no longer comped but only 10% off because I had "waited too long to come back." Seriously? After a horrific, painful and humiliating experience with one woman, I was miraculously willing to give this place another chance purely because the manager's initial response was so awesome. But because I "waited too long" for my touch up (because sure, I intentionally got sick, and purposefully waited around unable to wear skirts and shorts in this heat), I just basically lose my money? I never got to take advantage of the first wax because it was a joke in the first place. This manager went back on what he promised without any notice until I take the time to show up. It's unprofessional, disappointing, and grounds for me to go to my bank tomorrow and dispute the charge on the grounds that the service provided was unsatisfactory. And now I'm going to post this review on Facebook, and anywhere else I can put it. I'll also be sure to tell everyone I know never to go to this place. read more

I have been coming to ABB Wax for some time now and I have seen some of they're older waxers go and new ones come in. They're location is clean, cute and has a Zen feeling to it. Doesn't feel "commercial" at all; so if you like that, then you will like the environment here. I just recently got a wax there, about three days ago, and I'm happy I came. (It had been some time since I got waxed and I was so scared to get waxed by someone who didn't know what they were doing. BUT.....luckily I got an amazing waxer.....she made me feel very comfortable and when she asked what service I was gonna get done she described to me what it was, reassuring that we were both on the same apage. Second of all, I got home and noticed I still had a lot of hair on my legs after being wax multiple times in the same areas on my legs. She was to rough and didn't really take the time to detail my wax... It was all over the place.... I tried Giza which I really liked, she made me feel comfortable and gave me pretty much a facial down there... However she left.... Now my favorite lady is Patricia... She is helpful, very helpful since I'm 9 months pregnant... She is soft and careful, detail oriented and very funny... The pros: Lena is a sweetheart. She does an okay job and the wax is comparatively painless. (Huge plus!) This is a clean establishment that smells like burning incense...and and the service is pretty speedy. The cons: somewhat deceptive business practices: hidden prices, tips are cash only, service is not on par with price. BEWARE: For a REAL full Brazilian, you will pay $43 which is much more expensive than their competitors... But they won't tell you this initially. They advertise $27 and tack on additional $16 when you hand them payment. (Edit) ** I am told by management at the ABB waxing establishment that this is due to "customer preference" and that I am welcomed shop around to find an establishment that does not enact this policy. ...Actually, my usual waxing spot is NYC WAXING . I admit, They may have spoiled me as they quote the exact price for the ENTIRE service (including front and back) as a " Brazilian wax." (Note to management: As this a common practice within the industry, perhaps make your practices more clear.) Recommendation: ** if price is not an issue and ... ** if strip-less waxing is appealing to you, perhaps check this place out . **They offer a loyalty card that gets you 50% off your 8th visit. **You'll probably have to tweeze the strays,but they do an okay job. **Make sure you are clear on price before accepting service, because they seemingly intend to deceive in this arena . **they do not honor new customer discount unless you are insistent Will I go again? : Probably not.
