We were caught with hidden fees with another company on our move date, desperately we called Abba & Sons, the guy came right away to give us an exact/honest quote for our 4 BR move in foothills, he arranged it for us with one truck and 3 guys the next day, the move went very smooth without any problem, there was no lies like the other company EZ move which doesn't even give u an exact price. Just got off the call with Abba & Sons, and that was the worst interaction EVER. I'm so confused how this company got a close to 5 star review, while they have such a horrible customer experience... HOW?! I'm appalled. For context, I've had some bad experiences with long-distance movers in the past, so I wanted to ask all the right questions before having movers come to my house for in-home estimation. Specifically, I gave details to my upcoming move to California and asked the owner TWO QUESTIONS over the phone: 1) Does one team do all the loading & unloading, or does 3rd party come in? (I wanted to find a mover who takes responsibility for everything, rather than paying 3rd party do the job. There can be a lot of damages due to lost responsibility). 2) Do you pick up multiple people's belongings in a truck, or just one family's at a time. (I'm a frequent mover, so I've experienced plenty of horror stories where my items are with five other homes' belongings, and my properties got lost and/or damaged in the process). Yes, they're super basic questions that other moving companies were happy to answer, as I was doing an initial research about moving companies I wanted to work with. Again, I had so many horrible experiences with moving companies, so these two details were important to get answered before having movers come over for home inspection. I also work 9-5 and don't have time to have 10 different movers come in for an inspection. I wanted to do my own share of research before bothering them to come to my house. Abba & Sons was at the top of my list of companies I wanted to contact, due to great Yelp reviews. However, the owner of Abba & Sons was extremely rude to me. He kept rejecting to answer my questions, and kept making false assumptions that I SOUND LIKE A BROKER (?????). He just kept on insisting that he'll come in to my house for an in-home inspection, when I clearly communicated that I'm hoping to get my questions answered before having you come over to my house for an inspection. He also kelt saying that he can't give out the estimate until he comes in for a home inspection. I repeatedly said that I DO NOT NEED ANY NUMBERS!!!! Just these two questions on how they operate for long distance moves!!! So annoying and disrespectful. I'm just a REGULAR customer, burnt by a few moving companies in the past and wanting to get BASIC questions answered about movers I'm about to pay $5K! Zero stars. Zeev the owner so far isn't proving to be a responsible or professional business owner. I recently hired this company to move 4 pretty simple items. One fairly expensive item being my refrigerator was dropped off a dolly face down in a driveway and is now non working, total loss. He still think I should pay his service fee, told me he would file with the city to sue me for his 468.00 bill, but does so while ignoring the damage to the 2500.00 refrigerator. He has also not yet upon several requests I've made very politely, that he provide a plan to me to resolve The damaged refrigerator. Claims his insurance is supposed to call me for 2 weeks now. No insurance has called. I'm not so sure he's insured at this point...they would have contacted me quote quickly im sure. Not a stand up business owner. I don't recommend this company at all. We will see if I have to seek further remedy, or if Zeev gets it together and resolves the item owed to me or not. read more

Our recent move from Tucson, AZ to Litchfield Park, AZ was a multiple move to a Tucson storage location and then reloaded from storage location to our new home in Litchfield Park on Easter. The team working on our moves was Evan, Bobby, Jake, Nick, and Shannon. They professionally wrapped all our furniture and it was loaded into the van with precision. All our possessions were delivered damage free! This team worked efficiently with everyone having a role in the move. We recommend Abba & Sons to anyone. No stars. He is not being responsive to an incident my mother had and I had. I watched the entire situation unfold and how rough they had been handling all the furniture. They slammed the washer down when moving it. One of the movers was very helpful one was not. Unfortunately this resulted in severe damage. He is stating that is is her fault due to the shrink wrap request. However all she asked for was to speed up the process a bit and the company should've made that assessment. It was not due to shrink wrap the Fridge came off the truck fine which tells it was not a shrink wrap issue when pushed a little to fast and swung the door open the helper pushed the fridge back trying to help and shoved it on the very helpful employee and this resulted in it falling over and severe damage. He has yet to provide the insurance claim ( generally this means you are not insured) he stated in a response back he was not sure if the fridge was in good working condition prior this fridge was not old and was just unplugged so they could move it. I have posted pictures below. This fridge did not have a dent in it previously and as we all know they aren't cheap. They did ok on the small stuff but would not recommend for anything large and I would recommend asking him to provide proof of insurance prior. I sincerely hope he makes this right. We did decline payment because we assumed this would happen which is limited response and no movement at this point on the "claim" that was filed. We all know insurance claims do not take weeks for a response. This fridge had no damage prior like he wants to claim "he did not know the condition". This is ver frustrating and we honestly tried to give him time before we reviewed this way and honestly if he had taken true efforts to make this right we would not have left the review. I have posted pictures below of damage and the place it was out face down. I truly hope he gets his one good employee some good dependable help so this does not happen again. First and foremost I am grateful that this company was available to help me move on such short notice. Additionally, their prices are fair and everyone I spoke with was very professional. This morning David and Michael showed up and began at 0815. We loaded, traveled and unloaded all within about 3.5 hours. These two men were kind and very methodical with how they loaded and unloaded my belongings. They took great care with my furniture and boxes. This was my first time using a moving company and I'm so grateful for these two men because they helped me transition over to my new home seamlessly. I will add, because I've moved every year since 2018, I've got the packing perfected. So I had all my bed frames taken apart and mattresses in protective covers. The atmosphere was tense, as we'd been scammed, and now, didn't trust ANYONE! They wisely stayed silent, while we tried to sort it all out. Long story, short.......hire these guys. Scheduling the move was efficient. Zeev kept me updated via text messages. The guys showed up on time. They worked diligently through the day. It was HOT. Tony the foreman kept everything moving forward. Brian was incredibly patient and calm throughout the day, solving different issues that came up. There was a substantial discrepancy between the estimate and actual cost. Zeev eagerly discussed it with me and we came to an agreement. He truly cares about his business and I wanted to support a local business vs a chain. Lesson learned: insist on an on-site estimate. They can handle small jobs to full apartments with ease. Their crews have always been great, and the service is fantastic. They'll prefer doing "flat rate" pricing, which is better than larger companies that charge you for every little thing along the way. You know exactly the cost and what they'll do. They've packed up personal things, furniture of all sizes, and valuable artwork too. All professionally handled and with a smile. Zev is the owner, and he's a straight-shooter.... what he says is what he does, and you can count on them! I cannot recommend ABBA for moving services because several items were damaged or missing from the load due to the mover's incompetence and lack of preparation for a move of this scale. I observed the preparation of the items for a long-distance move and blankets, pads, stretch tape, styrofoam and cardboard were used to ensure an undamaged transfer. In fact, I went and bought 36 extra blankets and 15 straps to ensure protection. ABBA kept the straps and did not reimburse me for the $150.00 cost. When they unloaded at my home, the movers were disorganized, unclear of their task and lacking tools for reassembly. I experienced a considerable loss, for example, a new 55" TV had to be replaced and even more troubling are the very valuable missing items (Tiffany crystal lamp and silk shade, a second lamp and two large glass vases). I have mixed feelings about this moving experience. On the positive side, the guy I scheduled with was very kind, responsive and got back to us right away. The movers themselves were really nice guys, very personable. I feel there was a huge miscommunication somewhere, we were moving from a full three bedroom into a 5 bedroom and I requested packing service- I was quoted 3 guys for an hourly rate expecting an all day move, and 2 guys show up for a 2 hour move. They asked for backup but it was 2 guys for most of the day and it took over 12 hours and they did not even finish. A lot of our furniture got damaged, it was not worth filing a claim for "60 cents a pound" but I watched them try to shove furniture through doorframes without trying to remove the legs or pull it through at an angle. It was just bizarre. I'm a military brat and have moved every few years my whole life and have never had a move go like this before. Like I said, there was a miscommunication and the movers themselves were really nice- I'd like to think If the expectations were clearer maybe the job would've been cleaner? The guy who scheduled gave us a 25% discount to make up for the error but I felt super bad for the guys who showed up expecting a 2 hour job and ending up staying over 12 hours. This was before I realized how much of our furniture was damaged. Just be sure to be very clear when scheduling and if you don't want specific items damaged ask them to wrap it because they won't take initiative to do so unless it's heavy. read more

I have moved numerous times and used a few different local moving companies and I did not like any of them, but yesterday I just moved and hired Abba and Sons and I have never been so pleased. I contacted the company on the same day I needed to be moved and they responded to me so quickly and made time for me in their busy schedule to help me move across town. The owner showed up and two movers. I got to talk to the owner and he gave me such a great price and then the two movers, Tim and Bryan, we're the greatest ever. We had a easy move from a two bedroom apartment, to a single level home 5 miles down the street. Went bad from the get go when Starving Students were suppose to do the job, but they sub-contracted out to these guys. Oh, no. The start time was 8 a.m. and they didn't show up till 2:30. A three man crew altogether, and no shrink wrap, or tape. One started complaining already, and the other not fit to move "himself". After the Owner had to be called, and had to come out to rescue his unfit "mover" things got worse. The outcome is this. They wouldn't take the hanging clothes, ect. in the apartment, and left the back porch with storage still needing to be moved. They left a elderly woman and her disabled daughter, with her grandchildren behind to do the rest in the car. You know what else they left behind? They were so much in a rush to leave, they left behind : hanging bar for hanging the clothes, appliance strap, and their drill. What a joke .... Thank God for Grandchildren to save the day. They moved me to Southern California and they even did all the packing at a great price. Another company did estimate a cheaper price, but they would not guarantee their quote and they just seemed shady to be honest. Zeev was upfront about everything and he was able to give me a guaranteed price which was great. One of my planters broke on the trip over here and without even asking, he went to home depot and replaced it! This is not the standard. You'd honestly be a fool to choose anyone else in Tucson. I was hoping to leave a positive review. The owner, Zeev Kahana, was given SEVERAL chances to rectify that which he and his office manager, Mary, admitted were inappropriate actions and behaviors from their movers. They ultimately decided not to right their wrong. (Sidenote: I failed to check their BBB complaint review prior to choosing the company. It looks like they have a history of ignoring legitimate complaints and not taking responsibility when they know they are in the wrong.) Prior to leaving this review, we visited the business (no one was in the office which is in a deserted office building complex), emailed and called multiple times. The office manager seemed helpful, but it finally boiled down to the owner, Zeev Kahana, supporting the bad attitude and behavior of his movers moving slowly so that they could incur greater costs (there is a 2-hr minimum fee at $89/hr plus a one-time trip/travel fee of $89. Additional time is calculated in 15-minute intervals). Everything on the front end was GREAT! The office manager, Mary, assisted me with setting up a date and time. She quoted a price and was very kind and helpful. She also sent an email confirming the information. Prior to the movers arriving, I packed EVERYTHING and my husband broke down the two beds and left the larger items (i.e. sofa, glass table, dresser, etc.) in the residence and moved almost all of the boxes outside to the curb or to the front room near the door so that we could save time. The movers arrived on time and they did not manhandle my things. I was appreciative for this. It was, however, VERY obvious that they were trying to run the clock up unnecessarily. I say this because my husband would wheel out THREE boxes on a dolly at one time and the movers would in turn put ONE box on their dolly and wheel it onto the truck. Additionally, on multiple occasions, the men were seen carrying one sofa pillow at a time. I addressed this with them and shared that it wasn't acceptable to me. They said okay to me and then told my husband they could "unload the entire truck, put the items back in the house and leave." I called the office to report these issues while they were still moving. The owner, Zeev Kahana, indicated he would address it with the foreman, Keith. I called him back after the first residence was packed up and we were moving to the new residence. Zeev hadn't called them as he said he would. He assured me again that he would call the foreman. After the items were unpacked in the new residence, I called Zeev back. Again, he had not spoken to the foreman and said the foreman would probably work something out to pay the minimum 2-hour price (instead of the almost 3 hour amount). Zeev asked me to pass my phone to the foreman. I did and then the foreman quoted me the almost 3 hour amount. It had been a long day so we paid the amount with the hopes of working things out later. After a detailed email outlining the problems and two subsequent phone calls with Mary, the owner, Zeev, decided it wasn't worth his while to be honest and fair and reimburse us for the portion of time that was clearly wasted by the movers. After having moved all over the country for work purposes, my husband and I have worked with many moving companies. This is not the type of service we are used to receiving. I do not take it likely that you are stating that we tried to BRIBE you out of $100 not to leave a poor review. I spoke to Mary on May 20, she agreed that the foreman was in the wrong, apologized profusely and asked what the company could do to resolve the issue. I told her it would be good to hear what she had in mind. She said she wanted to receive suggestions from me. I suggested half of the fee. Mary suggested a refund of $100 as an alternative. I agreed. Mary felt like this would be a simple resolution and ENCOURAGED us to leave a positive review once the matter was resolved because as she stated, "my email explaining what had occurred the day after the move was so well written." On May 29, NINE DAYS later, and after I had called and emailed Mary again, I finally heard back with a response saying the owner of Abba & Sons simply wanted to move on. NEVER did my wife nor I suggest that we would leave a positive review in exchange for money. That is a blatant lie. 2. The move was 2 hours and 45 minutes....with me assisting the men the ENTIRE time for a 2-bedroom apartment. 3. There are things that you commented on that I did not leave in my review. If you are concerned with my wife's review, proper order would be to comment on her review. We had two different experiences with you and I commented on my experience -- my wife left a comment in her review about the Better Business Bureau that you addressed in your response to me. Yes, you all have a review of "A" after 4 complaints including a VERY detailed review of irresponsibility on the part of the company from a customer. After a long stressful day Zev and his team came to my rescue! I found a guy on Craigslist who left me hanging and I was in desperate need for a few strong hands. After calling Zev, he offered me a really competitive rate. It was very last minute, but he showed up exactly when he says he would as well as charged me exactly what he said he would. They are professional and they really did take my move personal. I will never move again without calling movers. This was the most stress free move I've ever had thanks to Abba & Sons Moving Company.
