He had been in and out of hospital and rehab numerous times. Thanks to Betty and her team of loving, respectful aides, he is back to his old self - joyful, full of life and actually doing some walking. His mind has been renewed and we have good conversations now. He has received nothing but kind, caring, loving and respectful care. Betty and/or the aides are on site 24/7. Because of the small number of patients/residents, they can truly give personalized care right when the individual needs it. This is not a place where your loved one will be neglected. On the contrary, Betty and her aides are interacting with each resident throughout the day. Posh Care is clean, the rooms are large and 'sunshiny', bathrooms are spic and span. The only smell would be that of the meals cooking, and they do their best to prepare what each person would like to eat. The Posh Care team truly embodies the verse "Let us do good to all people", and is a God-send to our family.

Yes the facility is nice but that is all I can say, the housekeeping is ok but could be a lot better, in the rooms they never vacumn only use a broom, I complained so many times about the heating & cooling, I was told I didn't know to set the controls, but I didfinally gave up on that, complained about the tile having sticky crap on the tile, the maid told me that had always been a issue there, never resolved that issue, the food was horrible, the only good things they had was chicken salad & that was whenever they decided to list it, the fried was good but had maybe once every other month. The manager was another tune as she never was involved with any of the patients, stayed in her office 95% of the time when she was there, if you asked a question she always said to ask the front desk, how the company could not see what was going on. The maintenance man Raul was about as useless to be a maintenance, if you ask him a question, he just mumbled and kept walking, , I finally convince my family to get me out of their and they did, I did not require any special care? I just needed to be somewhere in case I fell or needed medical attention. I waited a while after I left before posting this, don't let the lucks of the place fool you, Bad place for any elderly person if they can't speak up. If you love your loved one, don't leave them here.

The one thing I want people to know is they were robbed three separate times. After the first time they replaced what they could. They made a report to the police but beyond that Brookdale did no internal investigation. It was an inside job there was no breaking and entering but none of the employees were investigated. Or shall I say there was nothing reported to my parents. After my father past my mother was robbed two more times taking what they had replaced the first time and other antique rings and watch that had great sentimental value to my family. Again Brookdale did nothing. This ended up being several thousand dollars worth of jewelry stolen. The subject of installing a safe after everything was gone was brought up, but one was never installed. I do not wish this on any other person. This place is not as safe as you may think.

I don't usually write reviews, but the outstanding care and kindness I received from everyone on the staff deserve to be recognized. From the day I arrived, every single person treated me with compassion, respect, and genuine concern for my well-being. During my entire stay, I never encountered a single employee with a bad attitude. That alone says a great deal about the culture of this facility. There is a physician and a nurse practitioner who do rounds every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Both of them were never in a rush to listen to my concerns and issues with my recovery- and I had quite a few in the beginning. They even came to the PT area to make sure nobody was left out. That was truly amazing to me! The nursing staff provided excellent care and always made me feel safe and well looked after. Whenever I rang the bell in the painful stages of my recovery, someone showed up in a very timely fashion. Whenever they didn't, I knew it was because they were busy taking care of someone else, not because they didn't care. The physical therapy team was encouraging, knowledgeable, and truly invested in helping me recover and regain my strength. The housekeeping staff kept my private room spotless and comfortable, making it feel like a home rather than a medical facility. The kitchen staff went above and beyond to make sure I had meals I enjoyed. They were always accommodating and often prepared something extra when I needed it. It was clear that they genuinely cared about making my stay as pleasant as possible. I was also impressed by the administration and leadership. Whenever I needed something, they did everything they could to make it happen. Whether it was a special request or simply making sure I was comfortable, they always responded with kindness and professionalism. What stands out most about The Villages of Lake Highlands is the people. Every department--from administration and nursing to therapy, housekeeping, dietary services, and everyone working behind the scenes--works together with one goal: providing the best possible care for their residents. Their compassion, patience, and genuine love for the people they serve are evident every single day. Recovering away from home can be difficult, but the staff made me feel cared for, respected, and valued throughout my entire stay. They consistently went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. I am deeply grateful to everyone at Villages of Highland Park for their dedication, kindness, and exceptional care. I would wholeheartedly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a place where residents are treated with dignity, compassion, and genuine concern. Thank you all for making such a positive difference during my recovery.
