It's clean, well kept, well managed and has the friendliest staff. We moved my Dad from FL and he also liked everything about the Oaks. Once you take a look at The Oaks, it's an easy choice where your family should be!

I lived @ The Oaks @ Liberty Grove in RowlettTx. I lived there for approximately 6 months. This has…read moregot to be one of the most horr places to put your loved one in. Yes the facility is nice but that is all I can say, the housekeeping is ok but could be a lot better, in the rooms they never vacumn only use a broom, I complained so many times about the heating & cooling, I was told I didn't know to set the controls, but I didfinally gave up on that, complained about the tile having sticky crap on the tile, the maid told me that had always been a issue there, never resolved that issue, the food was horrible, the only good things they had was chicken salad & that was whenever they decided to list it, the fried was good but had maybe once every other month. The manager was another tune as she never was involved with any of the patients, stayed in her office 95% of the time when she was there, if you asked a question she always said to ask the front desk, how the company could not see what was going on. The maintenance man Raul was about as useless to be a maintenance, if you ask him a question, he just mumbled and kept walking, , I finally convince my family to get me out of their and they did, I did not require any special care? I just needed to be somewhere in case I fell or needed medical attention. I waited a while after I left before posting this, don't let the lucks of the place fool you, Bad place for any elderly person if they can't speak up. If you love your loved one, don't leave them here.

I give this organization 3 stars. Most of the people on staff are very kind people. They did…read moreseveral times bend over backwards to deal with some of the difficult issues that arose with my brother who was in their care. The facility is very nice and has very nice grounds. Now for the troubling parts. I did raise a concern about his laundry; it was washed and then shoved into his closet willy nilly. His clothes were often inside out, meaning the night person ("you know it is hard to get good people for the night shift" I was told) didn't do their job. Now my big issue is that I was flat out lied to. When I signed my brother in as a resident I had to sign as the "Responsible Party." When I asked if that meant I was going to be financially responsible, which I was not able to be, I was told, "No. It will be your brother's funds." Now, after my brother has died and I moved everything out of his room within 10 days of his death, I am given a bill for two extra days of residency (when he was not there) and told that I signed as the responsible party. Therefore I am on the hook for this bill. I call this the old scheme of bait and switch. Mustang Creek: I wish I had a better words to say about the organization. But integrity is in short supply these days.

The facility services sound wonderful but they don't deliver. We visited my mother frequently so we…read moresaw her room usually was not clean even those they announced they were finally hiring somebody to only focus on this task; that only happened one week. Mom's laundry frequently wasn't washed weekly as stated and her clothes lost or stolen. I was constantly asking for toilet paper for my mother because she had none in her bathroom. The only 'recreational' organized activity I observed was bingo. People in the memory care house just tend to be sitting around on the sofa. The staff in the memory care house are under staffed and overworked. The staff turnover is high, but the ones that are there have lots of patience. They did try to correct problems when we talked to them. My mother saw the doctor they recommend in their brochwhen she fell. The doctor was nice and immediately scheduled someone to come to the facility to do an X-ray but she never returned my numerous calls when I wanted to find out the X-ray results. I finally had to ask the nurse send the report so I read it and have another physician review it with me and that took over a month to get that medical report. The cost is high but we were paying for services not delivered or of poor quality. They did make meals as stated. Since many of the residents don't have visitors, families may think they're getting service and quality what they were promised. Memory care residents don't always have an advocate or memory issues which prevent them from voicing what's needed so it's essential for services promised should be services delivered. Yes, we did talk and email the director to voice concerns. Finally had to remove my mother.

Let me be crystal clear: If you're thinking of putting your loved one here, don't. Unless, of…read morecourse, you want them neglected, overmedicated, and treated like trash. My grandmother went in after knee surgery because we thought she needed extra skilled care. In one week, this place managed to fail her in every possible way. No shower for seven days. Fed sandwiches and junk when she's supposed to be on a soft diet. No ice machine for her knee--just tossed her an ice pack the same day I showed up and removed her. And the meds? They were pumping her with 1,000mg of Tylenol on top of hydrocodone like it was candy. When I called the nurse on it, she shrugged. Shrugged! As if overdosing an elderly woman is no big deal. My grandmother even told them she was being overmedicated, and the nurse snapped, "Fine, I'll just trash all your medicine if you don't take it." That's not nursing--that's abuse. To top it off, I personally delivered five prescriptions straight from her hospital discharge. Guess what? They "lost" one. Lost it. Do they even keep track of their patients' medications, or are they just tossing bottles in a drawer and hoping for the best? Yes, yes they are. When I showed up and saw my grandmother upset begging to leave, and saying they could very well kill her, I pulled her out immediately. And what does the director do? Threatens to call the cops and APS on me. Pathetic. My grandmother was already cleared to come home with home health before this place ever got involved. They tried to cover their failures with intimidation. This place is dangerous. Period. If you have a loved one here, get them out before the same thing happens to them. Rockwall Nursing doesn't need new management--it needs to be shut down.

To say that the family was devastated is an understatement…read more After hospitalization and rehab, my wife needed continuous care, something we could not give her at home at the time. She was wheelchair bound, not able to get in or out of bed, or go to the bathroom by herself. I started visiting facilities in my area, knowing this decision was one of the most important ones I would ever make. One facility, not able provide enough care, suggested ABBA CARE, and this was a "God Send" for the following reasons: It's a small family run facility, whose caring staff treats patients as people not commodities. They work hard to provide a stimulating environment, bringing in church groups, organizing games, providing events to keep the residents involved. Just visit the website. They are located in a residential area with beautiful grounds, a historic 19th century barn and gazebo. It's a wonderful and peaceful place. They are very proactive, 18 months ago my wife developed a slight cough, something I would have overlooked. They quickly recommended hospitalization, and the cough quickly went into phenomena. My wife is incontinent, however I have never found her wet or smelled the associated odor that comes with this issue; In her room or the facility as a whole. I knew I had the correct facility on the first visit, asking if my wife's stroke had affected one side of her body more than another, and then arranged her bed to encourage working her weaker side as part of her rehabilitation. I can't express how blessed we were to find Abba Care, and how well they took care of her while we weren't able/ We will forever be grateful to them.

Abba Care Assisted Living is a piece of heaven for anyone in need of true, dedicated, attentive and…read moreloving care! This establishment has got to be the absolute best kept secret for elder care ANYWHERE. Located off Centerville and Country Club Drive, in Garland, it is most accessible. The maximum occupancy per the two separate dwellings on the property is 16 and the residents are treated like family. The ratio of caregiver to resident is 1:4 during the day; 1:8 at night. My father will soon be 100 years old and has lived independently until he fell and we knew we must seek assisted living for him. We prayed and God answered our prayers by directing us to this 5 star rated Abba Care Assisted Living. The major miracle is that my father actually loves the directors, Victoria, an RN, her sister, Vilma, and all the caregivers who swiftly and kindly are attentive to his every need. He receives 3 home cooked meals a day, they have motion detectors on the floor of his bedroom, which alerts someone to come check on him should he stand up, he has a buzzer he can push which he wears around his neck should he have an emergency and a buzzer on his chair and in his rest room if he needs anything at all. We even get reports through text messages, as to how he is adjusting, sleeping, resting, and eating, on a regular basis. All this care is unsurpassed ANYWHERE, and the bright, cheery atmosphere plus the impeccable cleanliness of Abba Care is completely unmatched in any place we visited! If you are thinking that Abba Care sounds too good to be true, just schedule a visit. It is absolutely a piece of heaven in my dad's life. God bless all who give their heart to caring for the residents of this outstanding elder care home. My dad, who is extremely particular and set in his ways, who has full mental capabilities except for a bit of forgetfulness and is unsteady on his feet, feels 100% secure at Abba Care Assisted Living. What a relief for all six of his "kids ", who love him so very much. Our family visits him daily, and we enjoy sitting on the porch with Dad, as he requests getting a bit of fresh air and enjoying the pretty scenery surrounding his new home. The cost of all that I have shared here, including showers, food, medicine distribution and top notch care is only $3700 a month, and super exceeds ANY assisted living campus we explored. We only wanted the very best for our father, and we found heaven at Abba Care. For Dad, at his age, smaller IS absolutely better! (And by the way, our dad is not the oldest resident at Abba Care. There are two who are older, and who play dominoes together, everyday.)
