I arrived in town around 8pm and my buddy took us here for a chill evening before getting into SOBEWFF the next day. As we walked in we went to sit at a table, but right then a couple seats opened up at the bar and we shifted there. As the night went on it got busier and busier so we locked those in for a while. I'm glad we did because that's where your getting the quickest service and bar activity. I wasn't drinking beer that night so I can't speak to the brews, but the prices were great for a few hours of drinking in South Beach... probably the cheapest tab we had all weekend. Thank you to Yelp for helping us find Abbey Brewing. We were having dinner near by, and checked Yelp to find nearby breweries. I would definitely classify Abbey Brewng as a dive, but a fun dive at that. This is a darkly lit place, you'll need to pull out your flashlight to see the menu, with a pool table and a dart board. There are several tables as well as seating at the bar. They don't offer food, but you can always have food delivered. My favorite part was there beer selection. My husband and I shared a 6 flight, and they were all really good, smooth beers. My favorite being their Imperial Stout. Next time I'm in town. I will have to go back. read more

5 star ambience 5 star service 5 star drinks...an atmospheric brewpub with a VERY fun/friendly clientele plus some pretty amazing in-house brews. Abbey Brewing has a very authentic "dimly lit neighborhood bar vibe" despite being in a very touristy area of Miami Beach. While no monks were harmed in the making of this beer, past the storefront entrance, it's all atmospheric stained glass and dark wood, etc. Both the patrons and the staff are quirky and cheerful, plus even more intrusively social than me (a good thing in a bar hehe). You'll feel like you're on the set of Cheers. Even on a busy night, their staffers are fast and efficient, slinging drinks and funny jokes rapid fire. They have an amazing array of beers and other alcohol. I'm usually not a beer drinker, and definitely no connoisseur, but there's something called Brother Aaron's Quadruple that's just amazing. Parking can be tough in the neighborhood, so walk, bike or Uber if you can. We bicycled over with our 2 large dogs (they're very dog friendly). Don't worry, we limited ourselves to max 2 drinks, so we didn't fall off the bikes into the street on the way home or otherwise embarrass the dogs. read more

Probably the best neighborhood bar I have ever been to. I have been coming to the Abbey since it was a smoke filled closet. After expansion, no smoking, tripling the size, late night happy hour, pool table, The Abbey remains the best beer hall ever, now with full liquor for many years. I always have the Apricot Ale, once in a while when it's cool in Miami I get a Mexican Stout and if I'm feeling froggy I get loose on a Rochefort 12. The staff has always been excellent. Jersen is a mainstay and now I enjoy happy hour until 7:00pm and have a blast. Clean, great music, cold beers, non obnoxious crowd, always a great time! read more

Whenever I travel, especially after walking around, it's really nice to find I local brewery just sit back and enjoy some nice weather at. There were a few small tables outside, and the inside as you can see from the photo, and is fairly dark and Tavern-esque. They did have a fairly large selection of things to drink, which is interesting because I was deliberately interested in trying some of the breweries's own. The person that was at the counter didn't know a lot about the type of peers that were being made there come on which I also thought was strange. I specifically look for different types of IPA's with specific types of hops, so also a little disappointing. I don't recall if there was anything to eat, but this particular brewery is right next to what looks like a really nice restaurant that we were considering trying. So, for having a decent IPA, and places to sit outside, I would give this 3 1/2 stars read more

If you love beer in Miami, you must try this place out. Their beers are great and really strong. They have a few varieties, but they don't play around. While I don't begrudge medical personnel the ability to have fun, there are some things that are just apropos. Besides the fashion statement, the rum and coke here at Abbey also calls for a "DNR" . After dinner nearby, a friend celebrating her birthday walked the two blocks over for a drink before our next venue. Besides seeing the aforementioned folks not meeting dress code, we asked for rum mixology. The bartender uninterestedly just said "so a captain & coke". No interest, no creativity in making an interesting drink. I mean, they do seem to have a full bar. Oh and as far as the captain and coke, it was more soda than alcohol. We could barely taste any alcohol. Granted , it's a dive bar and they do have one pool table. But unless it's just coming in for a basic beer this place is "code blue" for me. read more

I have been going to this bar for 30 years, the last 15 I don't even drink. Ray has been making and selling craft beer before it became a fad. His IPA is the best (or was, people say it still is). The place has gotten bigger but yet remains exactly the same imperfect wonderful perfect self. They added liquor too. Pool Table. TVs. Booths and jukebox. I wanted to have one more drink before heading back to the hotel. After yelping nearby spots, I found Abbey Brewing Company. The roommate and I dropped by on Monday, December 10th around 3:45pm. We placed our order at the bar and found a table to sit and enjoy our drinks. We came by during Happy Hour: Monday - Friday, 3pm - 7pm, so I decided to try a beer. I got the Lemon City Gold: German style kolsh, 5.2% ($5.50, originally $7.50). I'm not a huge beer girl, but it was light and easy to drink. The roomie and I each got a Macallan 18 ($33). Back at home it's normally at least $50 per pour, so this was a great deal. They also have Yamazaki 18 on their menu at $48 a pour. We tried ordering that, but unfortunately they were out. This place is kinda divey, but since it was daytime, it was still bright inside. Looked like someone had arranged a company HH, but they were all gathered in the bar area, so we were still able to find a table away from the crowd. Very chill vibe for a Monday afternoon. It has more spirits than beer, but on my visit there were 8 beers on draft...winning! My flight of 8 was $32 and well worth it because they half fill a regular glass. For me the bad part was they had soccer on one of the two TVs and they were blasting it in stereo. My headphones couldn't drown it out. This place has a pool table, juke box and plenty of seating. Everything you could possibly need for a party or gathering. They have extensive Scotch, Whiskey and Boubon offerings, along with bottled and canned beer and wine. Plus vodka, gin and many other spirits. The BEER: many of them are high in ABV so stay hydrated. Came in because I was in the area and saw they had Belgian-style beers. This place is definitely a dive, but in some of the best ways. When I walked in the bar was packed, but there was a lot of open tables. One of the guys at the bar, who seemed like a regular, got up and offered me his barstool and went to go sit at one of the open tables w/o so much as a word, just a gesture and a nod. Who knew chivalry wasn't dead after all? It is very dark, so you do have to use your phone's flashlight to read the menu, but they offer some good belgian beers. The two bartenders were both very friendly and came to take my order and explain their menu right after I was offered my seat. They even let me sample the two beers before I bought them as they were in the $10 for a tulip pour range. Definitely worth price as the Tripel and Quad styles were on point as was the flavor and abv! Definitely worth checking out for the beers and just the atmosphere...you don't feel like you're in South Beach at all, but in an old pub in Europe somewhere. This was the first hipster beer spot on Miami's vernacular before breweries became a thing. Always releasing the rarest bottles and taps for those who relish a fine Belgium is what they're known for... They don't mess around. The Dunkels be on deck and watch out for the Quads because they will creep up on you. The crowd is always an eclectic bunch and with variety like theirs, conversation is sure to strike. Rest assured that the most discerning beerhead will salivate at their offerings...even if it's just a Tuesday. I like to keep tabs on them by following their social media for special releases. It's always a treat coming here. Plus, they're super groovy so it's always a great time. Meter parking is difficult at certain times but something so amazing has to come with its inevitable drawbacks somehow. read more

I love this bar! It's the Cheers of Miami Beach. The craft beer is amazing! I love that I can get a peanut butter old fashion and not have to spend $18 on it. The bartenders are awesome and most of them have been working there for over 10 years. I left my phone brand new iPhone there for a couple days and when I went back it was still charging behind the bar.
