My Cat passed away after 20 yrs of love & giving love back and I was told my Cat would go to Abbey Glen and I went on the site to order her Urn and "What I got was a Urn with a 2 inch wide and 3 inch long window " Which makes it almost impossible and hard to see her FULLY and half of the picture cannot be seen - this is after making the picture as small as possible. We have utilized the services of Abbey Glen twice for private cremation. We did what they call "an attending" where your pet is cremated alone while you wait in a private area and can observe - obviously you don't see your pet in the flames, but you see them go in, the door is closed, the system comes on, and you can wait to get the remains back that same day. Those duties are handled by a gent named Lou who's terrific, low key, and respectful - he keeps you apprised of the process before, during and after. Both times we feel they did very well for our family in terms of sensitivity, the handling of the remains, and the final presentation. While the office staff seems to have turned over between 2019 and 2023 (and while the business apparently was sold once or twice too) the folks were consistently kind and attentive. The only reason this is not a 5 star review is pricing. When our pet was handled in an attending service 4 years ago in 2019, the cost was $150. As a result, I assumed that roughly the same price would hold. The fault here is shared because I did not point blank ask, but I was not told either until very late in the process. $548 this time! Every detail was the same, including the modest wooden box we selected. It's understandable every business needs to change pricing, but more than tripling in 4 years was a jolt, and unfortunately will likely make us look elsewhere when (heaven forbid) our next pet passes. read more

This is my second fur child to be done by them. If I wanted a 2x4 cut with a hole in it that I could put my pet into, I could have done that at home. The first one I was totally devastated with. The second one I was hoping would not be as bad, but to my disappointment it came the same way. The least they could do is stain the pine box so it doesn't get water(rain and tear drops) stains. I had to make the decision to say goodbye to my furbaby at an emergency vet visit. It was not planned, nor did I have any expectations that would be my last night with my pet. While I am sure this company takes great care in making sure our pets are respectfully cared for, the prices for memory keepsakes are ridiculous. All I want is a simple paw print to remember my baby. But, it will cost over $70 for a simple ink paw print on cardstock and mailed to me because I live an hour and a half away. If I could, I would go make the print myself, but unfortunately, that was not and is not an option. I feel like my pet is being held hostage and I have to pay a ransom for a simple paw print. I lost my dog a year ago and the company that performed the cremation services charged nothing near these prices. In fact, I was given a complementory basic paw print. If I had a choice, I would not have chosen this company. And now any tangible memory of my baby may be lost forever. On top of this, they emailed me several times a day and when I responded with a question, it was not answered. Recently, my cat[1] died, and the idea of burying her somewhere wasn't attractive, so cremation was the alternative. Our vet recommended Abbey Glen, so I gave them a call. Patty helped me, and was able to schedule a same-day appointment. I'm not sure how large the market is for cremating pets, but I figure it's big enough, as Abbey Glen has been around for more than a decade. Their exterior is plain, and there's ample parking. We arrived a bit late, and gave our cat's body to a staffer. They prepared her in the room next to the cremating oven, and we spent a little time grieving before they sent her body on to be cremated. The staff were respectful of our privacy, almost ninja-like in how they appeared (not in a bad way, they're Good Ninjas). The process cost $195 (they take credit cards) and took several hours. We opted to be present ($100 extra), instead of just coming and going. Included in the price was a quality wooden box[2] for the ashes (the "cremains"), and a certificate of cremation. Abbey Glen performed as advertised, and are fairly local, so I have no problem recommending them to others. [1] Or rather, the cat that owned me. My vet's office used Abbey Glen to cremate my kitty. I got the ashes back very quickly, in less time than they told me it would take, and everything was done very professionally. The remains were places in a very nice wooden urn and it came with a little silver plaque with his name on it that you can affix to the wooden urn. They also sent a card with the Rainbow Bridge story on it. I couldn't be more satisfied. I'm very disappointed and saddened at how rushed and negligent Abbey Glen was while cremating my cat. I think other pet owners deserve to know about this incident. As you can see in the photo, one of his pawprints is messed up. And the writing on the side of the box was almost completely smudged, meaning that they were in a rush and didn't let the ink dry. Worst of all, I had ordered 4 boxes of pawprints for different family members who were close to my cat and wanted a memento. The shelter noted this on the form and even called to confirm Abbey Glen understood I wanted multiple. But somehow, they ended up forgetting or miscommunicating with whoever did the cremation. I ended up with only this single box. Abbey Glen said it was due to the shelter writing too small. It is true they wrote small due to the small form, but that's why they also called Abbey Glen in follow-up. When the shelter called to let me know about the mix-up, I was devastated. It was like I was losing my beloved cat again once more. I cried for hours after the call. I felt so confident in choosing this company due to their great reputation. I was excited reading all the reviews and looking forward to my cat returning to me. But from what I received back, it looks like they were in a rush and not paying attention. A cremation isn't like burying or buying something online. It cannot be reversed. What's done is done, and there is little left of my precious cat now. To Abbey Glen's credit, they were very kind and apologetic. They provided me a refund which I am grateful for. But it isn't about the money. They were careless in a very important matter and it can't be undone. I'm not angry. I'm just very sad and disappointed. I called and ordered a paw print remembrance - the male I spoke with on 9/17/2020 described the paw print as coming in a case with a place to insert my pet's photo - same as what was pictured in their brochure. What I received today (for almost twice the price in the brochure) was a paw print in a VERY CHEAP thin cardboard-type material case, nowhere for a photo, etc. I called Abbey Glen and spoke to the same male whom I spoke to last week. My 17 year old miniature pinscher Chloe was cremated at Abbey Glen, and I couldn't be more please with how they operated. We did a personal cremation and were able to be present to view her body beforehand, and watch the cremation process. They had her laid out beautifully, wrapped in a sweet blanket. Last week we lost our 15 y.o. cockapoo Daisy. I was impressed with what I saw on their website and was equally impressed with the service they delivered. When I delivered her to the facility Gail was very pleasant and engaged in conversation and didn't rush us at all which I really appreciated. The day I picked her cremains up I was on the turnpike in traffic and called to confirm how late they were open. Hi, I had to send my beloved Weimeraner Blue , my pal of 11 years over the Rainbow Bridge May 31st at 3:14 Wednesday. Why I'm being so precise it's because it has broken my heart. I have had 3 dogs in the past 34 yrs all big dogs , all great dogs and buddies. This Weimeraner was a special one to me, we were just so in tune. Well I waited for my Vet to call and say he sent him out for cremation. I waited heartbroken for a week . I got the call to come and get my buddy. When I got there I got a nice bag with card and cardboard box with something within it. I couldn't open it there but when I got home and alone pulled box out of bag , read beautiful words about rainbow bridge with personalized touches with my name and my guy Blue. Then opened cardboard box to find a beautiful reddish brown box with name tag saying Blue. It had a slide on top to view remains. I started crying because of the care Abbey Glenn of Quakertown took to do this , the Professionalism, the class they showed during a hard time. I want to thank them so much for their thoughtfulness. The staff and services at Abbey Glen are excellent. I have been there to pay my last respects to four of my beloved pets over the years and each time the staff was very caring and compassionate. They are very thoughtful at Abbey Glen and I appreciated the time I was able to spend with my pets before they were cremated. This company cremated my dog after we lost him at six years old after a long battle with cancer. They then proceeded to ship my dogs ashes overnight, signature required, without notifying me, for delivery on a Saturday. I was not going to be home. I was unable after making several upsetting phone calls to get the package rerouted to a FedEx drop off location less than a quarter-mile from my house. FedEx home delivery is closed Sunday through Tuesday and now my dogs ashes sit in a FedEx warehouse. I was charged $25 for express shipping. To make matters worse Abby Glenn then called me and and offered to reimburse me the $25 Shipping fee as If that helps in anyway to make this situation better in this already upsetting time. Keep in mind they, of course, did not offer to reimburse me for the cremation fee of $225. I hope they keep the $25 and use it towards training their staff to provide some type of a reasonable customer care in such an emotional business. I will never ever use this company again and I would hope that other people would not do so either as this is the kind of care you can expect. read more

I was devastated when my dog, Wyatt, passed away. He was my best friend, my first kid, and had been there for me for the death of my parents and the diagnosis of my kids. My vet uses Abbey Glen's crematorium in NJ, and after Wyatt died, I called Abbey Glen to discuss urn options. I ended up talking with Carol who was simply amazing. She explained all the services they offered. Because Wyatt was such a huge part of my life, and my best friend for over 13 years, simply sending his body to the vet and getting his ashes back seemed wrong somehow. My 15 year old dog passed away last week at 3:30am, although I've previously lost 3 pets prior to her passing, I had never had a dog pass at home. My 2 other dogs had been cremated at Abbey Glen through our vet, so at 6:30am I called Abbey Glenn's emergency line and they graciously helped me sort out my information so I could bring my dog in as soon as they opened. We lost our Golden Retriever unexpectedly. The staff at Abbey Glen were amazing. I called two different times and spoke to two different gentlemen. First time to get information and second time to schedule cremation. They were both very sympathetic and extremely nice. Once we got there, the first gentlemen I spoke to Chuck, explained what was going to happen. We were treated with respect and so was our dear Cuddles. We were able to spend about 30 minutes with Cuddles before the cremation began. They had her all ready for us when we got there. Then, we met Krista, the lady that was going to be over seeing the cremation. Both her and Chuck were so helpful to us. Krista would come and let us know when she was going to have to open the oven so we could decide if we wanted to look away or not. She prepared us for each step of the process before she would be doing it. Losing a beloved four legged family member is such a horrible experience to go through. The staff at Abbey Glen made it as comfortable as it could possibly be in that situation.
