I am a HUGE FAN. When I lived in LA, I had the very-bestest…read moreof the best alteration person. When I relocated to STL, I checked out the Yelp reviews of all area contenders. Alexandra's didn't have a ton of photos, but the language in previous reviews pointed me in their direction. The shop is co-located with a hair salon. I'm not sure if the hair salon keeps the same hours, but I posted a photo of Alexandra's hours here on Yelp. Double check before heading their way. They work SUPER hard to make alterations to your specifications. They will also make recommendations according to your garment's material(s) and what they have seen work and not work before. They have worked magic on my dresses, taken in jeans, and altered tops, hems, gowns, quilts, and more for me. They truly can do it all. The shop ladies are extremely friendly in a no-nonsense kind of way.....does that make sense? What I mean is - It seems like everyone in the area takes their items there, so they STAY busy. They have to stop working on their current project to help you, so it's usually less chit chat and more, "Go in and try it on." As I write this in 6/2025, I think the current return time os 8/2025. Keep in mind, June is right after prom season and right in the middle of wedding season. If I knew how to sew, I'd apply for part time basic work just to learn more from these ladies. The prices are reasonable. I always pay in cash as a nod to small business keeping more of monies earned. Lastly, check out my pictures of their seasonal "porch display." Most of the garments displayed are remnants of cloth these ladies fashioned into a dress. I KNOW the necklace paired with the winter dress was made with recycled buttons. I'll end how I began, "I'm a HUGE FAN."

Amazing work, quick turn around and super affordable. Customer service is great. Highly recommend.read more

I can't believe I have not written a review before now. Today I ran in to make a quick purchase of…read morea new tie and pocket square for an upcoming wedding. I knew what color I wanted and the salesman on duty was helpful in showing me a variety to choose from. I made my choice and was on my way. When I got on line to update my review, I realized I have never sung the praises on how they have helped dress me for two previous weddings. My weight goes up and down like the stock market, so I can never wear the same Sport Coat to the next wedding. This time I lucked out and am able to wear one from a previous one. If not, I am sure they'd have found me a new one. After checking out with my new tie and pocket square, I checked out their clearance rack and I may go back to make a purchase. They had a pink vest and jacket that would look great with jeans. It would be a fun outfit, especially in October for Breast Cancer Awareness. If you need a suit or sport jacket, I recommend highly recommend Men's Wearhouse.

My review is filled with a lot of buts (not butts). My husband visited the Edwardsville location…read morefor a specific colored tie and pocket square. Selection is nice but the store is small. There isn't a large inventory but the quality is exceptional. He wears a 3XLT and extra long, which isn't carried by most retailers. He was able to find the colored tie he wanted, but the style is on the "skinny side". Sales staff were attentive and friendly. He'd gIve the location five stars, but they don't carry his size in stock.
