We took the dress to a reputable bridal shop for a second opinion, and they confirmed the straps were shortened far beyond standard measurements for that size. Most disturbingly, when the dress wouldn't zip due to the over-shortened straps, Michelle's professional advice was for my wife to go on a 'strict diet' to fit into the dress. We have provided side-by-side photographic proof of the error to the business, but they have refused a full refund. If you are a bride-to-be, please be aware that if a technical mistake is made here, you may be blamed for it and left with a damaged dress and no recourse. We have filed a formal complaint with the Illinois Attorney General.

I took it to Prime Service Cleaners in O'Fallon, always my family's go-to cleaner, and walked in with it. They immediately told me what I had already guessed; there was little chance this dress could withstand what it would take to clean it even if it were even possible to clean it. It would take a miracle. But the process was most likely to simply destroy the dress due to its delcate fabric and tassles. I asked them to try anyway and signed the release form. Today, we picked up that dress and to say I was positively stunned would be the understatement of the century. This dress now looks near-perfect, like a true museum piece. I can't even comprehend what took to make this piece come back to life. So thank you, thank you, thank you for your truly amazing masterful preservation of a family treasure.

She was very honest with me about all that would be to be done and advised that it would cost over $100 to alter, and that even after all that, the dress may not lay properly and may end up not looking perfect. She urged me to do my best to find a dress in a smaller size and suggested which size she thought I should buy. She assured me that I still had time to think it over and told me to go home with the dress and come back later. She could have just taken on the project and taken the money, but she didn't do that. I frantically searched for a ready made dress that matched the color and fabric of the dress I already had and luckily was able to find one. Since she had been so honest with me, blunt, even, I trusted her. So, I went to her again with the new dress. Yelena was spot on with the dress size she suggested and she said it would only be a simple fix to alter the dress (and therefore SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper). The job was done in one week and it was perfect! I'll definitely recommend her to others and bring any other complicated issues to her for her honest assessment and expert opinion.

I got there and the lady asked if I was "A Harley" (She thinks it is a specific club) ( Yes Im aware of the Harley Owners Group) however I told her that I was not "A Harley" I ride a Honda.. "Honda Yes but not a Harley?" she says.. I explained that Harleys are just a brand of motorcycle.. "Oh Ok" So I showed her the patches and where I wanted them. They were 4 military uniform patches a little smaller than a baseball. And I asked how much. She told me it would be $50 because its leather. Thats fine she is free to come up with her pricing as she sees fit. It IS Leather not the easiest to sew through. I joked around with her that at most rides where there are vendors they charge about $5 per patch for the size patches I have. And she responded with "Well I think maybe you should go to them" I laigh and appreciate her honesty... then as I collect my things from the table and get ready to leave she says "If you were "A Harley" (Still believinga Harley was a type of person) I wouldve done it for $20, cause they are not so tight" (Tight with the $) and that is what threw me.. again I must ask why is it that people WITH money always seems to not need it? They get everything thrown at them or discounted for no other reason than they have more of it to throw around? The tailor is thorough and does a well-executed job. She isn't dirt cheap, no, but as the old adage goes: you get what you pay for. Her alterations are such that you'd never know they were done and are as strong and sturdy as the factory finished piece was prior to. That's the point and the sign of a good tailor. On top of that, she's quick and finishes pieces in a very timely manner. I recommend folks to King's all the time. She's worth every penny.

I exited the dressing room with it unzipped, as brides usually need help zipping their dress. He and his wife barely attempted to zip my dress and told me it won't close. HE mentioned that I must have gained weight ..twice! I picked up my dress from the bridal store 2 weeks ago and it zipped perfectly fine. Once I changed, his wife helped me put my dress in the bag, and she said sorry. I wanted to tell her that I'm sorry she is married to such an asshole. I took my dress to a different shop and it is able to be taken out and it was definitely able to be zipped. If you want to have a man tell you that you have gained weight and they cannot help you other than adding a huge panel of fabric on the back, this is your place!
