Ive been using Christine for a while off and on but after todays ordeal NEVER AGAIN. 5 Years ago There was an issue with my payment as I paid with my credit card and Christine never marked my claim stub as paid.( so I didnt notice til later). She gets done with my order then calls me and says that I still owed her. Long story short I paid it again to get my things then left. I tried taking my CC statement back to them but again...alot of back and forth. That was the first issue... This time...I dropped off 2 pair of Jeans to be altered on Wednsday with her BF telling me to come back Saturday and they would be ready. So I pay ahead of time and this time I got my reciept along with PAID on the stub. I come back on Saturday only to find out my jeans havent even been touched yet and blamed it on having to go to the phone store and spend 5 hours. So she hurried up and grabbed them and did them while I waited. All I needed done was to have the jeans length taken up 2 inches. Well...she got one right!!! One pair are just fine while the other pair were cut so short they can now pass for Capri pants!!! Basically ruining a brand new pair of jeans. So not only am I out the money to have them altered...Im also out the money for the jeans as well with NO CHANCE of ever being refunded because it wasnt her fault( as she always says). THEN while there waiting to get my order done,another female customer came in and because somebody moved in the store their dog( a Chiuaua) started barking/snarling at myself and another person with the excuse given ( oh hes trying to protect her) FROM WHAT??? NOTHING HAPPENED!!! I have severe PTSD as did the other male customer that was there as we are both combat vets...I got triggered so bad that I had to leave before things escalated. Needless to say if its not one thing with this place its another and is NEVER EVER their fault. I think its time to find another seamstress. I in good concience cannot recommend this place to anyone. read more

I was referred here by a former Co-worker as I was looking for alterations to my wedding dress. I'd taken my dress to several seamstresses in the area and due to the amount of layers in my dress was quoted astronomical prices (some totaling more than the dress). Thankfully I was referred Chris who did an amazing job, quickly, and was so reasonable!! I've since referred all of my friends and soon to be brides here and will come back. Not only did she make me feel totally comfortable but also did an amazing job. She's also so fun and personable -- it was the experience that I was looking for. The services in the photo (for reference) were to take in the waist of the skirt, add sleeves, and hem what was probably 10 layers of fabric while reserving the train/fullness. read more

I've used Christine for most of my alterations for 40 years. She is a professional, and does excellent work. She is honest, and will tell you if you've bought an Ill- fitting garment that will never fit correctly. This upsets some people, but it's exactly the kind of service we should all want. She won't waste your money trying to do something that just isn't possible, or which would ruin the garment. She isn't a magician, and she can't fix a bad quality or poor fitting garment with a few alterations. If you are looking for quality work at a great price, this is your best bet in the area. read more

awful! they like to talk more with their customers more then they actually like working. I had to go 3 different times to get my dress because they weren't done with it yet, which they only communicated once that it wasn't ready. plus they also over charged me for what I was having done which I didn't realize until later. read more

I first started using Chris and her tailoring services way back before she even had a shop! Probably around 1981. This was the absolute WORST service i have EVER received period!!! I have never had such terrible service that I wanted to write a review about it until now! I had a dress where the bust was too big and needed to be altered. It was a sweetheart neckline with a lace over lay. She hiked the shoulders up to where the sweetheart neckline was actually at my neck. It was the day before the event when i went to pick it up. She proceeds to tell me that I had to go buy lace fabric for her to fix it otherwise it would be silk which wouldn't have matched. So i went and actually bought the fabric came back to have it fixed. She called me back an hour later saying my dress was finished. I came back and it was worse than i could have imagined. Instead of the zipper being in the back of the dress like it was, the zipper was now on the side of the dress and the dress had now grown short sleeves? Now i am very deflated and unhappy with the situation. She said for me t come back in an hour and it would be fixed. She called me and i returned her call and tried to talk with her about the dress and how I'm not happy about the work. She just continued to argue with me and told me that was how i wanted it and then i didn't like it and wanted it fixed a different way. If you are the seamstress you should know how to fix the dress not me. I specifically remember while she was pinning me up she told me what she was going to do and she asked how that sounded. I said okay as long as it will look good that's your expertise. I gave her absolutely no direction (because i am not a seamstress) and apparently I was wrong that is not her expertise. While I'm talking to her on the phone she proceeds to tell me to just come pick up the dress that she had people in her shop and she doesn't have time for me. When i got there she proceeds to tell me she didn't know why i was unhappy and when i told her i was unhappy because she messed up my dress.twice she told me to shut up!! Yes folks you read that right! After that happened I allowed myself to finally get angry and i said a few choice words for sure!!! This is not my first time getting alterations. I have never had to have them fix it more than what they initially alter. I have gone to Tonis Alterations in the past in washington Mo and she ALWAYS did FANTASTIC work and i had never ever had an issue she is amazing and extremely knowledgeable. Beings she is so terrific i hadn't got my dress to her in time she was a month backed up so i went some place new. BIG mistake! Save yourself the headache and money!!! Not only is it shotty work and terrible service she blames her clients for her mistakes! Its worth the drive to Washington. No wonder this place was able to.get my dress in on semi short notice, terrible!! Please heed my warning and don't ruin your garment or be treated the way I was. read more
