Avoid this place! They will ruin your clothes. I brought in a shirt to be dry cleaned last week and it came out in worse condition than when I brought it in! There was a dark stain on the collar AND they GLUED ON a barcode to the shirt. The barcode apparently cannot be removed and is permanently attached to my shirt! I called the store - the lady who answered said they would do nothing to help me, then hung up. read more

I go to Apple frequently and have never been disappointed with the service. The items are usually finished much quicker than they tell me at drop off, which is a plus. Service is a bit pricey, but worth it because I know they are reliable. read more

I responded to a promotion for cleaning a comforter. I've been to other cleaners that would give me a dirty look when I brought my comforter in for the season. So I was pleased to see this solicitation. It was great service for a good price. When I picked up the comforter, it was packed in a nice plastic case, ready to be put up for the summer. I tried to use a coupon for the already overpriced dry cleaning and the front desk lady rudely pointed to a sign on the wall that said coupons must be presented at the time of drop off. If that were the case, they should ask customers if they have coupons when items are brought in. Instead, the company opts for a cheap cop-out to avoid discounting an already expensive dry cleaning experience. I will not be back and will instead, take my business to other dry cleaners in the area who are upfront about policies and don't charge an arm and a leg. read more

We usually go to another dry cleaners but decided to give Apple a try. The lobby is very clean and air conditioned! (Compared to 2 other places in town, this is a bonus!). For some reason, like most dry cleaners, they seem to relish posting a half-dozen signs telling the customers all the bad things that will befall them if they don't do exactly as expected by the business. Signs kind of set a negative tone. We're not the enemy, we are the customers! I'm probably being generous with the 3 stars; but the service was not as bad as mentioned by others and the clothes appear to be clean. My biggest complaint was the price: 2 short-sleeve casual men's shirts, 1 woman's casual blouse, 1 woman's khaki capri's. Cost? With tax; almost $24. That equates to almost $6 per piece of clothing. New to the area and chose their services on a whim. The business is clean and the staff is professional, which gave a great first impression. I brought the following items: 3 piece suit, 1 pair of pants, 1 dress shirt, 1 casual dress, 1 evening dress. The total bill was $75, which I thought was outrageously high, but didn't mind paying if the work was of good quality. The items I received all returned ok, with the exception of the dress shirt. Of all the items, this was the least expensive (only 2.99 for laundering and pressing), but it looked like crap. The pressing was awful; bad enough to require relaundering. When I addressed this issue, the attendant said all she could do was send the item for a second cleaning, vice just taking it off the bill. Pointless, considering the third party they use is what created this garbage in the first place. Considering I'm a first-time customer and just shelled out $75, they could have done better. No point in going back a second time. read more

I just moved to the area and tried this cleaner because it was convenient. When I tried to pick up my clothes I was told the computers were down and it would be an hour, I told them I had just made a special trip from 15 miles away and was there any way they could write a manual ticket and I could pay cash, she just laughted and said NO, you will just have to come back, I killed time an returned just over an hour later, same answer, come back later. I again asked if they could just let me pay cash and get my shirts, NO. I returned at the end of the day,another 15 mile trip, and same girl, asked my name, walked around the corner and brought my shirts out in less than 5 seconds, no sorry for the inconvenience, nothing, charged full price, and a have a good day. I will never return again, I understand everything is dependent on computers but when they make NO effort to try and work around it they don't care about their customers. I have worked in businesses that have lost computers and phone service but we still found a way to take care of our customers until they were fixed. read more

While not perfect, Apple Cleaners is the best cleaners in the Glen-Ed area. Their prices are a bit high but they really do take care of garments and do a quality job cleaning most of the time. Like every cleaners, they occasionally miss a spot or a button comes off of a dress shirt. They always take responsibility for errors or oversights and do a great job on most of the garments we send to them. Especially convenient is their pickup and delivery service which makes the higher cost completely worth it. I've really been pleased with the consistency of Apple Cleaners over the years. read more

Took a comforter in to be cleaned. Came back bleached with stains all over. They sent it back when we first picked and and came back still ruined with no effort to amend their error or compensation. $300 new comforter ruined!!! I do not recommend. read more

I've never taken anything to the dry cleaners before, so I picked this place randomly. I needed my winter jacket cleaned because it had an odd odor to it. I went in there and a woman was in front of me, picking up her dry cleaning and the woman working was being very polite and nice. When I went up to drop off my coat.. she was very rude to me! She kept making faces at me when I asked questions about it and did not give me a warm greeting like the lady before me. I know they must not get a lot of college students there, but she treated me like a punk instead of a customer. I was confused about the process since I've never been to a dry cleaner before and did not know when to pay, and what to get, etc. When I went to pick it up, I printed out a coupon. She said (with attitude) that I cannot use the coupon, that I MUST use it when I drop off my jacket. I then saw the sign about it and the fine print on the coupon, and said okay. But you would think you would use a coupon when you actually pay for something.... I wanted to pay part in cash and a dollar or two on my credit card, and she made a rude noise and said "Our computers are not set up for that!!!" What cash register in this century is NOT set up for that? I have used many cash registers in my previous various jobs, and they are ALL set up for that! Every store I have ever been to is set up for that! All you have to do is enter the cash amount, and the register will tell you that there is $____ left to give to the cashier and then you run that amount on the card... it's not hard. So I had to come back a few days later to pay for it. When I came back, there was a sign that said be back in 15 minutes.. with no time that they wrote the note at. I waited outside for 35 minutes. They tried to charge me for two separate pieces because my fake fur liner around the hood came off... and then they told me they didn't clean it. My coat STILL had the odor on it... I will NOT be returning here. I will gladly give my money to a business that APPRECIATES their customers, old or new. Young or old. A smile goes a long way in a business... read more

I have been looking for a good dry cleaner since we are new to the area. I dropped a long dress off to be cleaned last week and was told by the associate that it would be $10.99 when I picked it up. I was also encouraged to look online for coupons to bring back when I picked up my dress. When I came back, my dress was brought out and I was told my bill was $20. I said this couldn't be right as I was told $10.99. She said, no, it was considered "formal wear" and therefore $20. She also said no coupons on formal wear attire. I explained this wasn't what I was told and asked to speak to her supervisor. She pointed to the wall and said I could call customer service. I calmly explained that I would not be paying $20 and that she could call customer service while I was there. She reluctantly did so and customer service (after much debate) said they would honor a price of $14.99. Once again I explained that I was quoted $10.99, not $14.99 or $20. She did not believe me, and acted like I was lying. I felt like it was a bait and switch operation. At no time did the phone rep or the associate act like they valued by business or try to solve my problem. Instead, they made me feel like a liar and tried to overcharge me. Had she apologized for the miscommunication and advised me that my dress would be $20 the next time I returned, the whole situation could have been avoided and I would have continued to take clothes there. However, because this did not occur, and the situation was handled so poorly, I will not be back. read more

Apple Cleaners in Edwardsville does not deserve the 1 star I gave them. I live about 20 miles away and was looking for a new dry cleaner. I brought a brand new comforter to have laundered. When I went to use it weeks later I found a dry cleaning stain on the comforter. I returned to the store and the employee on duty could not have cared less about my complaint. She said she couldn't help me, I'd have to speak to a manager. I returned to the store just yesterday and the same employee was working. She display the same indifference as before. When I asked for the manager's name and number she refused to tell me. Wow! I walked out with my stained comforter and will not step foot in any Apple Cleaner location again. You may have a good experience, but if you ever have a complaint or concern you are on your own. Apple fits every stereotype about dishonest, shoddy dry cleaners. They are the worst! read more
