I was on an "Ice cream around town" mission when I pulled up Abbott's. Because it was sweltering hot in July, I wanted something fruity and refreshing, but not sure if frozen custard would hit the mark. This is not an open shop so you order from the window. They do offer benches for outdoor seating. The customer service was on point as the cashier waited for me to read the entire menu, kindly offered recommendations, and allowed me to taste samples. Frozen custard?! Yessss please!!! Delicious family owned frozen custard shop with drive thru although I like sitting for the experience. No indoor seating, outside only. Ordering is a bit more complicated than I feel it could be as the menu's are somewhat hard to see and not well put together, in my opinion. We persevered of course as nothing was going to stop us from getting our sugar rush for the day. :)) Yummy toppings, creamy frozen custard, waffle cones abound! Any place that offers something other than chocolate or vanilla dairy free is a win in my eyes. The cherry dairy free ice cream was so good. Their pup cups are the perfect size with little milk bones on them. Chocolate almond is 4/5 super soft creamy texture with yummy toasted almonds. The daily flavors I tried were underwhelming, though, the cheesecake flavor didn't really taste like anything. I'd certainly get the chocolate custard again though! The peanut butter sundae sauce was also good. read more

We were visiting Vero Beach Florida and had a hankering for something sweet so we visited Abbott's. Very friendly staff and efficient staff. We both had chocolate almond ice cream; hers in a regular cake cone and mine in a chocolate dipped waffle cone with nuts. Yum. The custard was delicious. The location had benches and tables outside and was very clean. It was nighttime and the front was well lit. We sat and enjoyed our cones along with the rest of the customers - the place was busy but service was very quick. Check it out! read more

I really had high hopes for this frozen custard. The reviews that mention very soft ice cream are correct. I felt like it was softer than soft serve, almost as if the freezer wasn't cold enough. You have to eat it quickly because it is so soft. If the ice cream was awesome I probably wouldn't have cared but it was only average. We gave this place a few tries but tonight will be the last for sure. Sloppy, runny , flavorless custard that was carelessly poured into a cone then smashed upside down into a cup. Not much flavor in their custard. We had the chocolate, Strawberry, and the vanilla scoops. The waffle cone itself was delicious, but the custard, in our opinion, was awful. I could barely taste strawberries in the strawberry custard, and the chocolate was very light on "chocolate". We're not going back. read more

We were just visiting. When I saw the sign for custard I decided we had to stop. I ordered the chocolate almond custard. I thought it would be chocolate almond flavored. It was probably the most bizarre experience I've had with food. There were almonds in it. Not like a swirl or a topping. There was more almond than there was custard. Think like granola bar with a smidge of custard instead of chocolate chips. I tried five bites to see if it got better in different spots. It did not. I ate the hot fudge and tossed it. The ice Cream is great, the service is very good, only wish there was more than one location but perhaps that is what makes it so very good. My fav is a thick, extra malt, Chocolate Malt Shake.Yum! This was a nice treat but the toppings are three times as much as the custard...which we had been able to taste more custard.

I found the frozen custard OK. The gala its were fairly limited...none appealing to my taste. Granted it was hot outside but the custard melted very fast. There are better places in Vero and Sebastian. read more

I told myself that before I leave Vero, I would come here. And I did. The menu is super long, I didn't know where to look, the gentleman told me to take my time (I was in drive-thru). Cars behind me and I still didn't know what to order so I asked him which is the most favorited, I forgot what he said but it had caramel, which I don't like. I asked which is his, he said dark chocolate something, so I asked what about the strawberry shortcake and he suggested that it's amazing with whipped cream and a cherry on top. I did and didn't see how much it was, but for a small size of $6, it's a lot, I could've bought a gallon of ice cream in Publix for that price. I told him that I was allergic to coconuts and he said he'll make sure none will touch my dessert. It was very delicious, I really did enjoy the fresh strawberries and warm shortcake. I have tried this place twice. The first time was 7 months ago and I was disappointed. Abott's is so close, that I decided to try it one more time. So, I just got back with my to go sundaes I ordered thru the drive thru window. I feel so personally offended by their attempt at a frozen custard sundae, I want to cry. It took us 15 minutes to get two ice cream cones, and the woman who was taking our order did not answer any of our questions about the flavors or toppings, instead just telling us to, "look at the board".
