I've been following Deanna (Arizona Shihtzus) for a few years, and finally bringing home my puppy…read morehas been such a wonderful experience. From the very beginning, it was clear how much love, attention, and commitment Deanna puts into every single puppy. She is truly an ethical breeder who genuinely cares about the well-being of her dogs -- not just while they're with her, but for their entire lives. Communication throughout the entire process was so easy and reassuring. She answered all my questions, kept me updated, and made me feel like I was part of the journey even before bringing my puppy home. The handover experience was just as amazing -- warm, organized, and full of care. It was evident how much love and work she put into preparing my puppy for his new home. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. If you're looking for a responsible, caring, and truly passionate breeder, I can't recommend Deanna enough.

Deanna is extremely knowledgeable, responsive, and thoughtful about the process of finding forever homes for her dogs. I felt supported along the way and she continues to be an excellent resource (our puppy is now almost 5 months!). I traveled by plane to pick up our sweet Jeffrey and I felt so prepared, thanks to Deanna! What could have been a stressful situation was organized and balanced, even despite of COVID (she's also very mindful of precautions, which was important to me). When I took Jeffrey home, he was already used to brushing and nail clipping. He learned to feel comfortable in his crate quickly AND he's the biggest lover of people (kids included!) and other animals. A truly content and sweet puppy . Thank you, Deanna!!!

I recently adopted (six weeks ago) an eight-week old puppy from Kaley's litter...Cathy was…read moreresponsive to emails and texts, and we had a lengthy phone conversation prior to her accepting my deposit. I brought home a little guy who was born right before Xmas 2025 and everyone, and I mean everyone, who has met him just thinks he's the cutest thing ever. Strangers, neighbors, people in stores, the vet and vet techs...everyone. He is mostly confident, he does startle sometimes with new loud sounds, but he stays put to see how I react. He does play hard w/ the 10 y/o corgi at my house, and also with my friend's two puppies, he really holds his own, but as puppies go, he's really calm (and I would say he was the most calm of his five siblings, based on the video I saw and Cathy's input). I would say they are as de-sensitized as they could be, after eight weeks (when we can adopt them). He is very sweet and very cute, and has been learning commands over the past few weeks (he is just coming up on 15 weeks old tomorrow). I hope to take him back to see Cathy and Mike the next time I get to PHX.

We are so fortunate to find Cathy as the breeder for our lovely Luna. We picked up our Luna when…read moreshe was 2 months old and she was grass pad trained and very comfortable in the playpen and sleeping in her own crate. The way they train the puppies early on really helped them to feel that crates are a safe space. We were amazed at how little training it took us when we first got Luna. Luna was also desensitized by all the different sounds and she was so calm and happy when she came home with us. Cathy and Mike guided us throughout our first few weeks by recommending Baxter & Bella to help us prepare for our puppy. Cathy is always available for questions and she constantly updates her breeder recommendation page to keep us updated. Cathy also allowed us to come to visit anytime for Luna to see her parents again and play with the other Cotons! We are really grateful for everything Cathy and Mike recommended and have helped us throughout this year. I can't wait to one day get another puppy from them when Luna is a little older.

I love my cat we purchased from this breeder. She is beautiful, lovely and lively. The pattern is…read morevery distinctive and dark, showing off her coat perfectly. She is now 3 and in good health! Came with vaccines, not spayed/neutered and was dewormed. Always be careful with breeders, even here. The location smelled strongly of cat urine but my cat has been perfect with her litter box. She was given two rounds of deworming medication, when she got home I noticed she had a potbelly, and that concerned me. She had balance issues as well, could not jump high or land it right. We brought her for a routine new kitten exam and found she had an ear mite infection, her little ears were very dirty. We tried to see if there was a worm problem at that time but was inconclusive. About 4-6 weeks after, I found an adult round worm in her poop. We took her to the vet and got her treated. Honestly, it's no fun being a new parent to a baby and shoving things in their ears or mouths. It's not the way my husband and I hoped our relationship would start with her. Eventually, she got better, no worm's detected, and can jump with no issues. However it is important to mention, her price point was less than $2k, and it offset those grievances I mentioned. I am unsure about her pricing now, but if you prepare for these things and consider the price we paid - it's a good deal. I'm not sure if she checks queens hearts or if there are congenital heart diseases. So far so good! Would I recommend the breeder? Depends on your situation and if you are open to the vet visits. If you are okay with what I said, then sure. If not, then pay the extra money for a cat that wont have these issues. I was looking for a snow mink and was looking for a new breeder (we have relocated to TX) but thought about making a drive out there. That is why I am checking her recent reviews, and I saw that these issues are still active. Personally, knowing that I will be looking elsewhere.

My experience with this breeder, Evelyn, has been deeply concerning, and I would advise others to…read morebe cautious. The primary issue arose when the kitten I purchased was diagnosed by a vet with an ear mite infestation shortly after I brought her home. The vet advised me to inform the breeder immediately, as this would undoubtedly affect the kitten's littermates as well. When I contacted Evelyn about the ear mites, her response was not one of concern for the kitten's health or the potential issue with her other kittens. Instead of offering an apology or a solution, immediately, she questioned why I had taken the kitten to a vet without consulting her first. As a responsible pet owner, I prioritized immediate veterinary care for a suffering animal; waiting for a breeder's advice in such a situation is not a reasonable expectation. Her subsequent texts often started with defensive remarks like "I'll check again, and I sound bitter, If I was bitter. My message started with an FYI. Unfortunately, the ear mites have now potentially spread to my other two pets. I have to have them checked. Adding to these issues, I had placed a deposit for a second kitten. Due to an unexpected job loss, I could no longer proceed with that purchase. While I understand that deposits are often non-refundable for a change of mind, in this instance, the first kitten was sold with a pre-existing health condition, making me question the overall health and readiness of her kittens for sale. Evelyn has retained this additional deposit. Communication with Evelyn has been consistently problematic. She tends to make assumptions rather than asking clarifying questions. For example, she claimed to have tried calling me, even sending a screenshot of an outgoing call, but I never received the call, a voicemail, or any follow-up text or email indicating she was trying to reach me. While I acknowledge that cell service in Casa Grande can be unreliable, a responsible business owner should attempt alternative communication methods if one fails, especially when dealing with customer concerns. When I followed up via text, her response was a dismissive "the phone works both ways." This attitude is unprofessional and unhelpful. Finally, upon expressing my dissatisfaction and intention to leave an honest review, Evelyn threatened legal action. This feels like an attempt to intimidate me into silence. I have veterinary documentation to confirm the ear mites. I would take a hard pass if I were you.
