This backyard breeder WILL sell you a mutt while claiming it's purebred and papered. BUYERS BEWARE!

I've had my baby boy Jackson for three years now. Communicating with Emily at first was a bit difficult but well worth it for the dog we got. Jackson has the temperament we so wished for! Sweet, goofy, loving, loyal and independent. We have since gotten another dog and she is quite the handful and Jackson is a saint with her. I will say that Jackson has always had a sensitive stomach which caused many accidents bathroom wise, not sure if that's a hereditary thing. He also unfortunately had some bad eye issues (corneal ulcers) early on which ended in costly surgeries and suffering for our pup and for us trying to keep his eye stitches in. I was told this is a hereditary thing. Not sure if Emily is aware of this as I didn't get a chance to tell her about it but hoping she sees this post and looks into it. However, regardless of these medical issues I can tell you that physically he is a stunning and beautiful dog. I got and continue to get compliments everywhere I go on how handsome he is. His temperament is perfect and I would not change a thing about my sweet boy. I can genuinely feel his happiness. I couldn't be happier with my dog purchased from Emily but I do think some of these medical issues should be addressed. Thank you Emily & co for giving me my sweetest loving boy. He truly is the love of my life.

My boyfriend and I have never bought from a breeder so we were a little nervous, but the experience was amazing and we love our female Dutch Shepard. She is beautiful, and a great guard dog. Thank you Von Riesig!!

We purchased a female Belgian Mali and couldn't be happier with our decision to go with the Von Riesig Kennel. She just turned a year old and has proven to be exactly what we were expecting from the breed. Smart, protective, high energy, obedient, but most importantly for me she has good instincts. I would highly recommend reaching out to Emily at the Von Riesig Kennel if your looking for a high quality Mali.

I read the bad reviews about diarrhea and was a little worried but I had already paid for my Bandogge puppy and was awaiting arrival. This was my first time ever buying from a breeder. My puppy Waller had now passed after having him 3 months. Turns out he was prone to seizures, they happened weekly and the last one was so violent it took his life. We worked with our vet who let us know it was hereditary from breeding. We reached out a few times to the breeder and the end result was this picture I am posting. All I wanted was honesty so that we could have diagnosed it earlier and given him the proper medication and dosage. We still would have taken Waller & loved him.

Let me say I have never bought a dog and was brand new to the breeder experience. It was a lot to take in, but I really recommend Emily and Von Riesig. I put a down payment on a male Doberman before he was born as a gift for my daughter's 15th bday. She had been begging me for a dog for years and didn't care what it was. I would only agree to a dog if it was trained since I had not been a dog owner in my adult life. I did a lot of research before settling on Emily. I did pay for the cropped ears and for obedience training. We didn't get to take him home for 3 or 4 months but we would drive out there every Saturday to spend an hour or so with him. Now that I have had him for a bit I can honestly say I got what I paid for. I asked Emily to pick the biggest black/tan male of the liter: he's big. I asked for obedience training and he came potty trained and disciplined with several commands. I wanted a protective, intimidating dog since I'm a single mom with 3 kids and he is incredibly protective but hasn't hurt anyone, just scares them. Plus, Emily answered all my questions even after I took the dog home. Like many people I was a little taken back by the "kennel" atmosphere and worried that my dog would get hurt around all the other dogs. But as I went out there weekly for multiple months it was clear that Emily treats those dogs with love even though it is a business. My dog has had no health problems but I know she honors that. He's part of our family now and next to my daughters side non stop. Very happy!

Our sweetest 13 year old mix, Nemmie, took a sharp turn for the worse after a brief battle with splenic cancer. I reached out to AARP on a Friday in hopes of scheduling them over the weekend. I was able to schedule online, and Shelley reached out the following morning to confirm the appointment and provide resources and instructions. Unfortunately, Nemmie's condition rapidly declined and it was clear that she would not make it to the original appointment. I reached out the Shelley, who was able to reschedule our appointment to that same day to make sure our sweet girl could be put to rest with dignity and little to no suffering. Dr. Falcone was the vet assigned to us. She called me roughly 30 minutes prior to the appointment time, letting me know that she was in the area and could arrive before the 12pm appointment. However, she also let us know that it was completely okay if we wanted her to wait until the original appointment time so we could spend an extra few minutes with our girl. She arrived promptly at the appointment time, and was nothing short of an angel for our girl (and for us) throughout the entire experience. I can imagine that having her job would not be an easy one. However, she handled our situation with such grace, empathy, and kindness. Before the procedure started, she took the time to walk us through each step of the process. She also made sure to be as gentle as possible, while getting Nemmie as comfortable as possible before everything started. We also have another dog in the house, who was very curious about what was going on. Dr. Falcone was so sweet to him as well, and let him sniff her, give licks, and be all up in her business prior to the procedure starting. She also did not rush us at any point in the slightest, and gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye to our sweet girl. Once the procedure had finished and Nemmie was no longer with us, again, Dr. Falcone let us have as much time as wanted to say our final goodbyes. She also allowed me the privilege of lifting my girl onto the stretcher, covering her with a blanket, and helping carry her out of our house and to Dr. Falcone's car for transportation to the crematorium. One small little touch that I'll forever remember. She was also very clear that there are two options for having your dog's ashes returned to you: either having them shipped to the vet, or shipped directly to your home. AARP's services, quality of care, and empathy for their clients & their pets are truly second to none. The opportunity to have been able to put our girl to rest in the comfort of her lifelong home while surrounded by love and comfort, is truly something that you can't put a price on. When your inevitable duty as a pet parent to see your pet off to the Rainbow Bridge comes, I can't recommend using All About Restful Pets enough. They truly are the best at what they do, and make the worst day of your life just a little bit better.

This was comforting especially since this was our first visit here. A comprehensive exam was completed, then Dr. Molina explained our options. Fortunately there were no fractures and it probably was a sprain. We opted for the immediate pain relief ointment and purchased a different variety to administer at home. I really appreciated not feeling rushed and loved the care that was given during our visit. As a sweet touch, the checkout offers healthy treats for your pets! Almost like a toy box for kids after seeing the dentist. My cat actually liked the treat! Hopefully she'll remember this positive experience if we need to return to Ocotillo Animal Clinic anytime soon.

This place used to be good; some staff and a few techs still are, especially Rose Marie. However,…read morethe changes that have been made at the Dr level and via policy/processes since this office was bought out by NVA, has gone down hill. We received ZERO notification that they would no longer provide Chewy . com with over the phone/faxed copies of the prescriptions. We were NOT told about this policy change at the annual vet checkup in November. We didn't receive an email, snail mail, text, or phone call about this change that happened in August. I called Chewy to find out why the meds hadn't shipped yet and Chewy TOLD me. Chewy is seeing a massive shift in the vet space in regards to being provided prescriptions from offices bought out by NVA and other big VET conglomerates. NVA specifically WITHHELD information about this change to force my hand to use their contracted pharmacy partner based on urgency. NVA wants me to sign up for a new pharmacy website and leave Chewy after doing absolutely nothing to obtain my business. Screw NVA. I picked up the prescription and mailed it to Chewy, who will cover the cost of shipping the original prescription. So NVA screws over their customers, while Chewy takes care of them. Why would I switch? This is not the same Ocotillo Animal Practice it was years ago, even though there are some great staff members still there.

I'd be a client for 5+ years with multiple dogs aka had spent tens of thousands with them, and I was treated with distain over THEIR mistakes that I have moved to a different vet. They also lied about Dr. Hoppe leaving and gave a very sexist answer to prevent clients for searching for what client she moved to. Overall, huge bummer, and will not be returning even though it is very convenient to see them. I will add, out of at all the vets left since I started going there, Dr. Smith is an excellent vet and would recommend her. I just recommend the practice with the horrible front desk practices (they cancelled my apt when I was 10 min late despite their policy being 15, misscheduled me and didn't put on reminders so I had no idea and showed up for an appointment that didn't exist but that I had properly put in my own calendar that they scheduled for a different day, general rudeness when I was very nice but firm about the issues, etc.) and a couple of the other male vets messed up some items (one failed to DX one of my dogs with Valley Fever when she had it, which led to a delayed DX, which led to a torn ACL, another did surgery in a strange way [verified by another vet] that caused a very negative reaction for my dog), so overall, the 2/5 instead of 1/5 is because they used to be much better & because Dr. Smith is a very talented vet.
