Several years ago, my daughter, after a great deal of research, set her sights on a Belgian Malinois as an addition to our small pack on a 3ac farm in Hawaii. We were unable to find any breeders locally so we began looking on the mainland for a puppy. We quickly learned there are a lot of scammers on the internet. Careful due diligence, however, led us to Emily Tiscarenio at Von Riesig Kennels in Maricopa Arizona. Emily's professionalism, vast experience and knowledge base was recognizable from the start and led to a successful outcome. On May 14th, after a 5 mo process we arrived at the Von Riesig Kennel facility picked up Uteh, our nearly 6mo old, very healthy puppy. Emily gave us the State required wet signed rabies vaccination documents along with the health certificate from the vet she had picked up a few days earlier. She also provided a starter kit with vitamins and records of the puppies first 5mo to date. Much to our surprise Emily also gifted us the AKC Pedigree papers. That's called going the extra mile. Thank you Emily much aloha me ka pono. We drove to Los Angeles to catch our early morning flight back to Hawaii. The airline delivers the dog to the airport quarantine station in Honolulu for a compliance check. If any of a few dozen things are not in compliance Uteh would end up in quarantine. Thanks to Emily's efforts Uteh passed with flying colors and was released to us in under 30 minutes. Breeding dogs is Emily's full time profession which necessarily involves a 24/7 work schedule caring for the puppies, new litters and clients. Respectfully, I chose to communicate by text and only requested a call back when necessary and when it worked in her . Emily was always responsive in a timely fashion and answered all my questions. Emily also engaged a vet on my behalf who was experienced with the challenges of meeting the Rabies Free Hawaii criteria. The vet was nearly an hours drive from the kennel. Emily made all the appointments and conferenced called me in on all the sessions with the vet so I could ask questions. Again she went the extra mile to keep me informed throughout the 5 month long process. Hawaii is a rabies free State and they take protecting the public very seriously. The rigorous process to qualify a dog for "direct release" at the airport (avoiding a potential 120 day quarantine), takes roughly 6 months and involves at least 3-4 visits to a veterinarian, blood test, a Health Certificate and adhering to the policies and timelines set forth by the Hawaii Department of Agriculture's Animal Quarantine Station. Von Riesig Kennels is situated on a large property where the various dog breeds have plenty of room for exercise. The facilities are kept in a clean and tidy condition. This breeder was great. She honestly cares about the dogs she raises and is professional about her work. The dog we got was a perfectly healthy and well cared for Doberman. She provided us with all the paperwork we would need as well. She did not even want us paying ahead of time until the dog was off the property, which is very reassuring as I offered ahead of time and she refused payment at that time. Most times, it would take a little bit of time to get a response, however when you get one it's as detailed as can be. For example, asking for height and weight, she actually sent pics along with the exact weight and height as she would measure and weigh him later on and send me the details. The overall transaction went very smoothly, even though their were many things that threatened to get in the way (Cali fires, covid, dog being too big for carry on), she made it very easy and was very helpful in figuring out the best way to get my dog home. I ended up making a trip down there, but this was only because I was so excited I had to come get my dog asap. If I ever had to recommend a place, I would recommend this place. It felt much easier and better than I anticipated, not to mention now we have an awesome new family member we can't wait to share memories with. Honestly, I have no clue what some of these other reviews are even talking about. The dogs looked great and we're in shape. I seen the property myself and it didn't look bad at all. I'm honestly happy to have found this place, my baby boy is the most handsome dog I've ever seen, let alone had. Thank you so much!!! PS. A few months ago we bought our doberman puppy Kaiser from Von Riesig, and ultimately I couldn't be happier with him. I'd shopped around and talked to more "high end" doberman breeders before coming to Von Riesig, and the only thing I got from the others I spoke to were lectures about how dobermans aren't fit for apartments and general attitude all around. (I'm of the opinion that as long as the dog has the appropriate amount of exercise it shouldn't matter if you live in an apartment or not, but that's besides the point.) Emily was incredibly helpful and accommodating to me, and answered almost immediately. She was also happy to let us come over nearly every week to bond with him before we took him home. They also offered a free training session with his purchase, (which we haven't cashed in on yet but definitely plan on it in the near future!) Are there things that could be improved? Certainly. The property could probably use a hand with keeping the general area and kennels clean, but then being all the way out in Maricopa I understand water is more of a luxury, and with a kennel being mostly outdoors in a desert, dust is kind of unavoidable. All in all, I don't think they're near as bad as some people are making it out to be, and if I need another doberman to steal my heart and suck my wallet dry for a second time, rest assured I'll be back around. read more

Working with Von Riesig Kennels was the best out there. Emily is the sweetest most caring person out there. She is fast to reply and helps you instantly whether its about your puppy, medical or training she will answer you as much as she can. Sometimes its slow because she takes care of 80+ dogs on the land all day and because of how bad the service is out there. But I swear to you none of the bad reviews are real. It is the complete opposite from what i've seen from them. The puppies are fed high grade food on a daily basis. Taken care of individually. The whole land gets cleaned by her daily alone. She also wont let you walk inside without even cleaning the bottom of your shoes with bleach to protect the land from anything foreign entering the land just to protect her dogs from everything. I would take my puppy there to be trained and have been inside so many times and seen how everything is. Dont believe the fake reviews on here. We were looking for a Doberman for home protection. We waited awhile on a list until a black female became available. We paid a deposit up front to hold the dog. We received a call from Emily that one was available and sent us pictures. We drove out to the kennel to look at the pup and it was absolutely beautiful. We paid for an ear crop that might be a little excessive but knew that the after care was taken care of by the kennel and we didn't have to do it. We received our fur baby at 8 weeks old and she was vet checked by us and she is perfectly healthy and adorable. We wanted a purebred but wasn't worried about AKC because we aren't going to breed her. All of the communication and in person contact was honest and informative. Purchased a 8 week old Rottweiler puppy last year from Emily who just recently turned 1 year old days ago. At this time I can't complain. He was enrolled in a well-puppy program when I got him and never missed an appointment. There has been no bad news from his vet and the staff loves him. I can't wait until he finally grows up and completely fills out. At first glance some people don't realize that he's still a puppy, especially when you hear his bark. He's has had his big boy voice for sometime now. He's developing at the same pace as the previous 4 Rottweilers before him. At this time he's a 93 lb. I've purchased two dogs from Emily and both have turned out to be awesome family members! Our first, was a Tosa, corso, boerboel mix in 2015. His grown adult weight ended up being 146 lbs! He is the most loyal, protective, loving dog I have ever had. I sleep soundly every night knowing I have a devout guardian as part of our family. In 2019 we decided to get a puppy, and again from Emily. We picked up a female pup from Emily. She's the sweetest dog ever. She is so patient with our toddler and is extremely alert. She is much stalkier and extremely strong, but has a very friendly temperament. She's about 95 pounds of pure sweetness. We had absolutely no problems with health problems with both our dogs and have had wonderful experiences with Emily! read more

I have never purchased a puppy out-of-state but Emily provided me with reassurance. Emily is very friendly and easy to work with. Initially we were interested in possibly a Dutch Shepherd, however after talking with Emily we decided a Bandogge was a better choice for us. She spent over an hour with us as we were trying to choose which puppy to bring home. It came down to just two of them, and being as we couldn't decide which, we ended up getting both! She was very accommodating during the process, and we could tell she really cares about her dogs. Von Riesig Kennel has tremendously helpful customer service. Two of our doberman joined us from the Von Riesig Kennel - a red dobbie male (6 years ago) and a red dobbie female (4 years ago). Upon pick up, their dogs all demonstrated extreme obedience. The owners created and maintained a relationship with our family and extended their services years past our dobbie pick up dates. Whenever we had questions about obedience training, raising doberman with children, you name it - they answered within minutes. We just got our second pup from this breeder! We we still have our 11 1/2 year old Rottweiler and now added in a bandogge mastiff who, so far, is as sweet as can be. One of our best dogs ever is our rotty from here. So hopeful our other girl will be just as amazing! Emily was very good at responding and very helpful. We bought our Doberman from Emily and went through several of the training courses. Cannot say enough good things about the experience! Emily has always been available to answer questions, give advice, and has been flexible for the few times we needed to board our baby. I have purchased 2 of my Rottweilers from Emily. They are beautiful & healthy & come from very good stock. I've already bred one of the females and her first litter she produced 10 healthy babies. She was a very good mom to her pups. Other reviews mention puppy diarrhea and animal abuse, this is NOT true. Diarrhea is very common in puppies and especially when you change their diet abruptly. All of the dogs I have seen/purchased are well mannered and happy. I highly recommend Von Riesig Kennel. You will not be disappointed. read more

We purchased our loving Doberman Valkyrja from this loving breeder. She was most knowledgeable about the dog and her tempermant. Not only did our loving pup come healthy, but we knew exactly what to expect from our first Doberman purchase. High energy dog with a protective temperament. Yes, cropping the ears is a high charge.
