Our family has adopted two dogs from Arf-Anage on two separate occasions. And they rescue dogs from various sources. One of my dogs was saved from Craigslist and the other was saved from the reservation from NM. Both experiences were absolutely wonderful. We love this rescue! When our older pup was about 1 1/2 years old, we decided to get her a puppy! We attended one of their events and looked at several dogs/puppies and landed on the cutest little white puppy. Purchase went smoothly and we had access to talk with her foster even after adoption. That was so helpful as we were getting used to Bella and her getting used to us. We also received shot record, spay record, etc. with our paperwork, which we passed along to our vet to begin her medical records. Her foster called her Cosette and like most families we changed her name, keeping the Cosette but adding Bella as her first name. What an amazing rescue. Our adorable little Chi-mix was rescued from euthanasia by this incredible rescue. The foster mom brought her to our house to do a meet and greet and that was amazing. We could see how our other dog reacted to a new friend in her space and the foster was able to ensure that we had a safe and spacious space to love their rescue. Lilly is healthy and happy and we cannot imagine life without her. The adoption process was smooth and simple. I'm so sad we had to move back to Washington and can't work with this amazing rescue any more. I of course, still follow them on Facebook because don't put it past me to fly/drive to Arizona to adopt the right dog! Besides allowing us to Rescue my soul mate (sorry dear... ) that's my Minnie. We've fostered 2 puppy mates for them and then when my native friend reached out with an injured Rez puppy, the last surviving of her litter, Kathy didn't think twice about helping us! We met my friend in Flag and brought the poor puppy to our home in Phoenix. Kathy and her team helped us get Vet appointments not only for her spay and shots but she was attacked by a Rez dog so their vet was super helpful with her TWO broken legs and skin trauma/bruising/I can't remember the technical terms now. We still miss Surrey some times but we would have NEVER of found her perfect furever home without Arf-Anage! It was so meant to be! Surrey's new Dad already had a dog that looked SO similar to our Minnie that Surrey had bonded with. I'll never forget the feeling of knowing that poor little Rez pup that was on her way out, now had a loving home and friend to play with and NONE of it would have been possible without Arf-Anage. These people are the kindest most humble animal lovers on earth! They helped us when my daughter and I found a puppy for sale on Craig's. It was a very shady looking post and the poor baby too young to be away from momma or get into the wrong hands. We called them for help and they didn't hesitate! They ended up getting a littermate from the same post. After nurturing and taking great care of the two babies they wet adopted by great families! Second time I needed their help was when I was at the shelter looking for a friends lost dog.i came across a momma chi mix very pregnant. One of the attendants said that if someone didn't claim her she would be put down. So of course I could not let that happen! Called Arf to the rescue and they helped me get her out of the pound. I was able to foster her and she gave birth to 3 healthy puppies! Arf then placed momma and the babies into wonderful homes. They always show up! I have never had a bad experience with anyone there. In it for the money and when things don't work out with an animal they don't help at all. I was also told the puppy I adopted was a dachshund mix, when really he's a pit bull Australian cattle dog mix !!! Didn't think this had to be explained, but sometimes that's a problem for people. Pit bulls tend to be aggressive and not all breeds are hypoallergenic! Also they don't fully vaccine against rabies and deworming. They aren't really in it to "help animals" because I reached out to them and explained my situation and in a contract they made me sign it says "you must give the animal back to them if things don't work out", they refuse to help me! read more

I had the best experience with this rescue. Their communication was excellent. They were knowledgeable about their rescues and really cared about their well being. I was called with updates and all vaccines and neuter were taken care of. My situation was a bit complicated and I adopted two rescues one from Arf-Anage and one from another rescue. The puppy from the other rescue became extremely ill and we were not sure she would make it. Arf-Anage was so awesome, Andy leant me their oxygen generator, oxygen kennel and portable oxygenator without hesitation so I could get her out of ER and continue her care at home. The foster's (Kelly, Sue & Keon) were so awesome and juggled taking care of my rescue I got from them so he would not be exposed and this went on for a month. They never made me feel like I was imposing. They offered advise and supplements to help my sick puppy and i didn't even get that puppy from them. The other rescue never cared about the complications I encountered with the puppy I adopted from them. I'm so grateful to Arf-Anage and would highly recommend adopting from them. read more

I am literally disgusted how someone could write a one star review of an organization like this. They come back with truckloads of puppies and do their best. If you are so miserable go find something else to do rather than write a poor review that will make the already difficult task of finding homes for puppies harder. Anyways, I have worked with them for years and donated many items that they then are able to give foster families such as food and puppy pads. I have seen them be given to foster families, but I can't imagine how they are able to supply enough and I personally would just buy them myself to help out if fostering. They have been great with communication and I have had over 20 people (friends and clients) adopt through them and had nothing but great things to say. The awesome part is that you don't have to buy a puppy, you can rescue! What an awesome thing to do. read more

I came in fully expecting to adopt an older dog, and was surprised to see 3 kennels with puppies! I adopted my German Shepard Choncho here, and he has been the most loyal dog I've ever had. This place made the process easy by including my neuter and all the shots! Also recently, I needed my shots records to be able to cross the border and they where quick to get me my records! If I could give -5 stars I would. This organization should not be operational. They literally can't manage to provide fosters with the correct puppies. How do you ask people to foster and not even know what dogs you're sending where?! Puppies come with nothing... no collar, leash, puppy pads, and so on. Commutation with the owner is a joke. i do not recommend this rescue at all. recommended to read ALL reviews before making a decision to work with this rescue.. ********************************************* this rescue was extremely unprofessional in my experience. once i had picked a dog and chosen to adopt it, the rescue was very finicky about the adoption fee price, the amount changed a total of 3 times while trying to obtain the RIGHT amount. after fee was paid- the rescue then did not send of the proper vaccination records- stating she had been "fully vetted" with no proof of vaccinations, after going back and forth multiple times asking for the proof- they finally sent over a document with supposed proof of vaccination. it was like pulling teeth for the documentation. ********************************************* unfortunately i had decided it was not the right fit for either the dog or me. i was very hurt about the decision but knew it was the right one. i had reached out to the rescue who then proceeded to BLOCK me on facebook, before receiving the promised 80% refund within 5 days. i was unable to contact the rescue via facebook therefore i called the number on google maps and they provided me a number to call to process a refund. ********************************************* i called this number and the lady (kathy or cathy) was over the top nasty, and rude. specifically stating "i knew i shouldn't have let you adopt her" this person was extremely unprofessional in the way she spoke to me- even though this policy is in their contract. once i had returned the dog to the foster- she was also very dismissive and rude recollecting the dog. ********************************************* overall- this rescue seems to only care about the money they are receiving and not actually caring for the dogs- making sure they are in the right home for them. the policy is in place for a reason- no need to be disrespectful to the customers or people seeking a companionship. i absolutely will not be. rescuing from here again nor will i ever recommend this rescue to anyone. it was a terrible experience and there are WAY better rescues out there that aren't money gobbling. ********************************************* do not recommend this rescue. they do not ACTUALLY keep them up to date with vaccinations. reading multiple reviews- this seems to be common with this rescue. many dogs do not have all of the "things that are included" in their already grossly high adoption fee. it's a lie, you'll most likely need to do some of it yourself. as i said prior- they barely gave me my documentation, and i had asked for it multiple times with them sending blank or the same documents that do NOT have all vaccinations. something suspicious is going on specifically with the medical history(and much more) of their dogs. arf-anage dog rescue only cares about the money!!!! read more

Love our dog we adopted two months ago and had a good experience adopting her. However, make sure they can prove the pet you're adopting is up to date on vaccines and being dewormed. Found out today our dog had hook worms and giardia. When we informed them they offered to provide antibiotics. The antibiotics they will provide seem to be from a bulk supply that they get. We asked if the meds need to be refrigerated because we live an hour away from the location they want us to pick them up from. No response to the question and the communication was all over the place. Due to this, we decided to just pay our vet for the prescription. Most likely there is no sort of proper quality control of the antibiotics they use. We informed the rescue we would not need their antibiotics and that our dog should never have been released without proper care. To which they responded that they check all their dogs for worms. Multiple reviews on google and Yelp have proven otherwise. Found out that the last vet check for our dog is unknown, which is understandable considering she's a rescue, but Arf-a age had her for a year and she did not have a rabies shot and had no record of being dewormed. This is interesting because they do have record of her getting her 5 in 1 shot, but they didn't give her a rabies shot. Why would you not give her the rabies too? All I'm saying is be aware of the vet bill you will have to pay if you get an animal from here or make sure that the rescue is up to date on their care. We have a toddler and a baby that the parasites can be passed on to. Arf-ange knew we had two kids when we adopted her and now they are at risk of contracting an illness. I understand that this rescue is non profit and "doing their best", but if you guys have time to make sure animals are altered and get them a 5 in 1 shot, do the basics of making sure they don't have worms too. We weren't nasty to them at all and they were snappy and defensive in their response. Apologize for your negligence. Animals are surrendered all the time for health issues. Let's make sure the animals adopted out aren't returned due to your neglect to take care of them. read more

The "founder" Cathy is rude!! When you ask her to call you she will not. I will NEVER adopt a dog from this rescue again. She flat out called me a liar. She sends someone to my house to pick up my dog and take him to his vet appointment without my consent. What kind of person would just hand their dog off to some stranger? Not me. Yo this place is horrible. We adopted our sweet angel from them, and thank god she was at a training facility with someone we knew because the rescues is unprofessional. When we purchased the dog the owner told me that the dog was vaccinated- but never sent proof. I had to text her consistently for several months only to find out they had NO records of my dog being vaccinated and lied about it. Then once we took her to the vet to get what she needed, the owner, Cathy, tried to get out of paying for it. I will never recommend this place to people and I am grateful we got my dog out of there before they could continue letting other dogs attack and abuse my dog. 0/10. Worst experience EVER! They gave us a sick puppy and tried covering their ends by saying he got Parvo while in are care which is impossible. I have the text message from the foster mom stating the puppy wasn't eating because he didn't like the food. Our pup was positive for Parvo on Tuesdays and when this rescue took the pup Thursday they said he tested negative for Parvo. He was throwing up and had severe diarrhea. I do not under how this pup could be throw up here one day and the next be perfectly fine. This rescue not taking accountability and giving a family a sick puppy was evil. The pain it caused our family is still lingering. We didn't even have this puppy a WEEK!!! The foster mom told us that this puppy is back at the rescue so I would beware. read more

I bought a "pitbull" puppy that was 10 weeks old in April 2021. I was told the $450 that I paid included a rabies vaccination and microchip. It's in the contract I signed. They said to call altered tails and schedule these two things for the dog. I repeatedly called and left messages but no one returned my calls. Then I called and emailed arfanage dog rescue to see what I can do to get him his vaccination and microchip. I got a call back. She said she would contact the person that had the puppy and would have her call me. I never heard back. In order to get this puppy vaccinated and chipped I had to take him to my vet. I waited 2 months and these were needed to get his license. I emailed arfanage after and told them I should be refunded since I paid twice for the same treatment. Again I was ignored. In the meantime I find out that this puppy is not a pitbull but is in fact a Jack Russell Terrier! I told arfanage that I'm disabled and didn't want such a high energy and stubborn animal. I'm unable to care properly for or keep up with this breed of animal. I finally wrote arfanage an email telling them how I feel cheated and lied to and guess who decided to answer? Arfanage said they wished I had contacted them first before getting the vaccination and microchip (which I did by phone and email) and if I'll bring the dog back to them on Saturday they will refund me half of what they will resell him at which is $350 ÷ 2 =175. So they're going to make $625 off of 1 dog? Communication is nonexistent with this "rescue". Also if they aren't sure what breed these dogs are then they should say so. Don't just make it up! If you are looking to adopt a rescue dog, I would be extremely careful about this place. I adopted a black and white speckled puppy that was and is listed on their Facebook page as an Aussie mix. When I went to meet the puppy, I was told that yes, it was an Aussie mix, that the mother was an Aussie and a very sweet dog weighing about 40 pounds. I agreed to adopt, signed the papers, paid the $450 adoption fee, and then was given medical records for a "black and tan shepherd mix." When I questioned this, I was first blown off and then told yes it was the right record, probably just a vet error. Also, I was given the name and number of a person to call for the additional DHPP vaccines which were included in the adoption fee. That person never answered the phone or responded to my voice mails. And thus began a series of emails with allegedly ArfAnage reps who refused to personally identify themselves. To make a long story short, these anonymous people told me that I had been given the wrong medical records and that the puppy I adopted was actually a Blue Heeler mix. I still do not have medical records for the puppy So I made a vet appointment. Finally, I guess they got tired of my pointing out inconsistencies in their various stories and they decided they did not want to deal with me any longer. So one of these anonymous reps said they were sending someone to pick up the puppy and give me a cash refund. Anonymous people paying me off in cash? I don't know who these people are but I will not surrender the puppy under these conditions. Based on my experience, I believe this is either a very, very poorly managed rescue or a totally shady operation. While their Facebook page looks nice (they have no real website--the website merely refers you to Facebook) look elsewhere for a puppy or dog! read more
