My girlfriend and I tried out Abby's for the first time today thinking it would live up to the name "legendary". Unfortunately, the pizza was below average. The crust was like cardboard, the cheese was disgusting, and the ingredients were average at best!!! My girlfriend says this is the worst pizza she has ever had while I say it compares to some cheap frozen pizza. We are very disappointed and the name legendary should never be in the same sentence as Abby's awful and overpriced pizza. I went in to get a take out pizza today (7/8/18) and Abby's reader board outside read large 3-topping pizza 18.69. I went in and said I would like your special the man said it was pepperoni, Canadian bacon, and ground beef, I thought cool I wanted everything but I'm not a huge of ground beef on pizza. I told the guy I would like to substitute ground beef for mushrooms. He looked at me like I was from another planet and said it would be over ten dollars to the change the order from ground beef to mushrooms. I said thank you and walked out of the restaurant with nothing to show for my efforts. No biggie I love Abby's and I've had never gone to this location before. I was very disappointed in the pizza & bread sticks on May 9th at dinner time. Sent back my doughy bread sticks & even when they came back the second time they were not good. I had a pizza to go. Staff was ok. the Pizza was sub par. ( its got a name that you expect really good.) not crispy, the conveyor belt cooking method is never going to get you a great pizza. just not a lot of stuff on it for $25. 25$ for a large, not cheap and it tasted like a 12$ Dominoes. I'm giving it 5 stars because I love Abby's pizza. It is my favorite. I am lactose intolerant so I have to get pizza without the cheese and it's difficult to find a good pizza without cheese. But their Abby's Special is fantastic. My fiance even noted it's hard to tell that there isn't cheese on it! I wished they delivered. We would definitely order more often if they delivered. But it's great. I've never actually eaten there. Only take out so I can't really comment on the service or building. Looks like a typical pizza place. read more

I used to come to this Abby's location a lot back in the 70s and 80s when it was the "old" Abby's with dark interior, long wooden tables, and kitchen in the front surrounded by glass. Then, it closed for years, and when it reopened, it was totally remodeled as a "new" Abby's. I don't come to this location very often anymore but I have gone to many other Abby's locations in different towns in Oregon and Washington, and I always order the same thing at all of them. . .an Abby's Special, which is their version of a "combination". Well, my pizza today was OK, but not great like it used to be. I ordered the thin crust and it didn't have the "crunch" that I have grown accustomed to. Also, all the ingredients didn't reach all the way to to the edge of the crust like a true Abby's Special. There was enough stuff in the middle, but the ingredients got sparse around the outer perimeter with just a few scattered slices of pepperoni. Well, I suppose times change. read more

Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere but nobody cleaned off tables, we were there over an hour and the only time we saw anyone clear anything was when people came in and couldn't find anywhere to sit so proceeded to clean the dishes and trash themselves. Pizza was good but the place was dirty. The salad bar looked like it hadn't been wiped off all day. The floor had debris on it and the front counter where we ordered our food had sausage sitting there. All of that is acceptable now and then but the front counter person sat and talked to her friends instead cleaning anything. Management should address this. read more

I love their pizza sauce. There's just enough on the pizza, and it's flavorful. Love the crispy crust, too. We always have the salad bar which is usually stocked well. Haven't had a bad experience here, the Mgr is always there, friendly and helpful. Her staff is friendly as well. Very consistent with the pizza. They have several salad choices besides the salad bar, which are quite good. I would encourage anyone to visit and try it out. read more

If they had an option for zero stars that is what I would give this place. I ordered the Abby's meat special and a pineapple pizza. It was cold and absolutely the worst pizza I have ever eaten in my life. I would not eat there again if they gave me free pizza. Warning- do not go there if you want to eat good meal. Abby's has the best Gourmet Garlic Chicken pizza I've ever had, probably because of the roasted whole garlic cloves as one of the toppings. My wife and I have eaten at the Coos Bay location many times. I even ate there many times before I met my wife. The above mentioned pizza is what I always order there. My wife and I have recently move from Coos Bay to the Portland area. The other day we happened to stumble upon this Abby's location while running an errand in Gresham. As usual, we ordered the same items that we did at the Coos Bay Abby's which was a one-trip plate of salad, 2-piece fried chicken and spuds, and of course my favorite pizza, the Gourmet Garlic Chicken. We were both very hungry, so it is always nice to be able to eat right away from the salad bar (we share the one-trip plate), as it does take some time for the food to be cooked. The fried chicken and spuds were done first, so they called my name and I went up to get it. As usual, the spuds and fried chicken were too blazing hot to eat; all the more reason to get the salad! Shortly thereafter, the pizza was brought to our table. Wow! This pizza was much better than it usually is in Coos Bay. In fact, it reminded me of how good they used to make them about ten years ago at the Coos Bay location! Way to go Gresham Abby's! The salad bar and spuds are just as good, so keep up the good work! The main reason I am taking the time to write this review is the fried chicken. This visit was about the fourth or fifth time ordering fried chicken from Abby's. We have now determined that their disgusting chicken is a franchise issue, and not a local restaurant issue. You'd think we would have learned our lesson not to ever order the chicken again. In fact, we told ourselves on our last Coos Bay Abby's visit that we'll never order it again. Maybe it was just the excitement of seeing an Abby's since we had moved, or because we were just so hungry (probably both), that we couldn't resist ordering the fried chicken and spuds. I just assumed that since it was a different location, there should be no issue. Wishful thinking! The chicken here is equally terrible. I know from my own culinary experience that the correct cooking, baking or frying temperature is very important. I believe the main issue here is that their oil may be too hot, like possibly in the 375-400 degree range, when it should normally be around, but no less than 350 degrees. Their chicken is served somewhat overcooked on the outside and way too juicy on the inside with bloody bones and some bloody meat. I do realize that some of the bloody bones may have to do with the flash freezing process, if they are using frozen chicken; all the more reason to not have the oil so hot! Too hot oil causes the outside to seal locking in the juices from the chicken and being under-cooked. Ever wonder why rotisserie chicken tastes so amazing? Because is cooked at a lower temperature and the juices are allowed to come out. Locking in those juices makes the chicken taste like it's gone bad or no longer fresh. Maybe some of the yucky taste has to do with their supply of chicken? Or maybe the seasoning? Not totally sure on that. Keep in mind that Abby's does serve beer and wine, so maybe after a few drinks, their chicken may not be so bad after all. Unfortunately, my wife and I pretty much stick with water. The Abby's staff was good and seemed to be friendly enough. I did use the restroom which was kinda gross. There was some sort of liquid draining from the toilet into the drain where I needed to stand to do my business. Never seen that kind of setup before. read more

My family and I went here and this place is very over priced. I paid $35 for a large deep dish, 6 bread sticks, and 3 drinks. We started to eat our food and after 2 bites in couldn't shake the feeling of puking. By far the worst pizza we've ever tasted. They say 100% satisfactory guaranteed. We were not satisfied at all. Good pizza normally but service lacking. Ordered a pizza for takeout, 20-25 min for pickup and when I arrived 30 min later there was a line out the door for kids party. Two cashiers taking care of orders, another cashier on phone taking order, walked up to phone cashier to pay and she pointed to line. I wait for 20 min in line for a one min transaction. Thanks for that extra time in the warmer to dry out my pizza. I had to ask for a discount or something for waiting and got a "generous" 10 percent discount. I asked for a comment form and the manager said we have 2 large parties sorry. I ask again for form and no response so I guess this is where they want me to provide them feedback. Round Table has just as good pizza for less money and better service that's my new place now for pizza. read more

I ordered a pizza to go and when we went in there to pick it up there was an employee standing on the counter where the pizzas are made cleaning the ceiling over all the open ingredients. If this must be done, don't you think it should be done after the food is covered and there are no customers around to see that? After that I will no longer be coming to Abby's. I'm sorry but if this company is going to have no common sense in protecting their customers health then there is no way I will be bringing my family back to that restaurant. read more
