Food is great I've been coming here for years but it's kind of disappointing that you can no longer substitute the side salad for tabouli salad even with a small additional charge. I don't know if the woman on the phone was new or what but they have always been able to make that accommodation for me. I don't want the side salad with my plate and I don't want to pay an additional $10 for a small side of tabouli. Personally, I think they should just give customers the option between the two salads, especially for people who are Middle Eastern and like to enjoy their meal with a side of tabouli. I understand the prep work that comes with making it but again most people who enjoy Lebanese food like to have it with their meal. My meal went from 24 to 34 just because I want small dish of tabouli. But yes the food is amazing I recommend the kabob plates I like to get lamb and salmon. The bread is always fresh and delicious. Oh and also the zataar that you get complimentary when you dine in should be free they used to not charge for that as well. I've never heard of a restaurant charging for complimentary items even for to go orders. But it's hard to find good Lebanese food in town so I feel forced to come here and pay these prices. read more

Plenty of options of kabobs with chicken, chicken dark meat, salmon, lamb or beef...all served with skewers with bell peppers and onions and some yummy garlic based dipping sauce. I've seen good reviews and bad reviews on The Nicholas Restaurant, but I'll have to say that every meal we ate there was delicious. The servers were very kind and seemed to care about the guests, and the atmosphere seemed just fine for that size of a place. Even when they are busy it still didn't seem to take too long to get our food. I recommend it to anyone who is in the area for the type of food they serve. read more

Located in downtown this spot was busy during lunch on a weekday some of the staff seemed stressed frazzled while others handled the hustle and bustle with grace... Two restrooms, indoor seating with tables for mostly for groups of 4, casual and clean place. The lamb kabab plate was AMAZING. One of the best Mediterranean dishes I've had as it was all so fresh and cooked perfectly with complimentary flavors. Everything tasted homemade and perfect portions. My mom highly recommend this restaurant so we came to celebrate my brother before he left for college. The restaurant is tucked inside downtown Gresham. On Wednesdays there is a car show nearby. The inside is very cute. The servers are very nice as well. The menu is basically individual plates. Not really ideal for family style. Free bread is also included. I also wouldn't recommend sharing. Everything was fantastic including the warm flatbread and olive oil to start. My lamb skewer was perfect medium rare, and the rice and vegetables that came with the meal were perfect and tasty. Val's chicken sandwich was delicious and more than she could eat [took some home]. Had we been served at the same time 5 stars, but I'd eaten 1/2 my meal by the time her wrap arrived. I've been wanting to try this place for ages but always end up at my usual spots and I'm mad that I waited so long. They weren't super busy when I got there but it took a while to be seated and that set the tone for the rest of the service. It was just slow and that's why they're getting four stars. The food though...my mouth is watering just thinking about it. You get a slice of naan bread that's the size of a pizza and some oil and spices to dip it in. The naan was hot, fresh, and pretty yummy. The dipping oil was just meh. I would have preferred hummus instead. I ordered the beef shawarma plate that comes with a salad, rice, and hummus. Everything was so full of flavor, especially the beef. The salad was a new flavor profile for me and it took a few bites to get used to the dressing but I was sad when it was all gone. From the well-stocked bar to the wonderful flatbread with herbed oil and then the Lamb Kabob Salad,... I cannot say enough! Service was excellent. Friendly, fast and professional. The policy being auto grats on parties of six or more made the auto grat on our check seem.. weird. We all ordered one meal and the only additional request were boxes at the end. I am a fabulous tipper (I only tip as low as 20% for crappy service) as I've worked in the service industry for many years before and that felt like an insult (if you know service industry, you know why that's an insult.) My absolute favorite restaurant! The food is always so fresh and delicious. It is a pretty busy restaurant but the staff is incredibly efficient and you're seated down pretty quickly. They serve you warm and fluffy pita bread - it is so addicting. My favorite is the chicken kabob plate or salad. We also get the hummus and zaatar fries as an appetizer. This was a spur of the moment lunch with a co-worker and I'm so glad we did. Lunch time was steady and restaurant was about half full with happy and contented folks enjoying their food. We were seated and had maybe 2-3 minutes before we were presented with their freshly baked bread and Zaatar and olive oil dip! I choose the mezza meat and my co-worker chose the lamb bowl. The food was prompt to arrive, hot and delicious. In addition I order the baba ghanoush and an additional bread and an additional order of falafel to take home. I brought my luncheon group to this place, we've not tried before. It turns out, one of them, is their favorite Lebanese restaurant! I called for reservation, but I was told, to call when they open (11:00). We planned to be there at 11:30, I told him. So he went ahead and took my reservation. One of our group had ordered appetizers ahead, so we enjoyed them while we decided upon what to have for lunch. We had heard that the restaurant was newly remodeled and it is now an open, airy and very pleasant space. I had the chicken pizza and hubby had the lamb kabobs, which came with a House salad and Saffron rice. The lamb kabobs and saffron rice was fantastic! The pizza was unique and delicious. (I was actually looking at the photo, when I ordered it, I thought that was what I was getting, so when it arrived, I was a bit disappointed. Better as leftover, and we both shared them the next lunch). Service was attentive. We also ordered hummus and pita bread to go. I'm having that for breakfast with some fresh slices of citrus. Their portions are substantial and while the prices are higher, it's an idea family-plate menu where you can get 1/3 the number of plates as you have people. I do not get the hype. There were tiny flies flying around the restaurant - the whole place felt a little dirty and the bathroom was disgusting. It's also highly overpriced given the size of the portions. The service is also terrible. We had toddlers and they brought out soup for adults and no kids food another 20 minutes when I specifically asked them to please bring kids food first. We will not be back. read more

Absolutely spectacular food and great service. The complimentary pita bread is so light and fluffy and the oil based sauce has a unique taste and complements the pita well. The tabouleh was delicious as well as the entrees we ordered. My only complaint is my beef shawarma had some fatty pieces but I know some people like fat so maybe it's personal preference.
