Tech wanted to charge 105 + tax for a 5 min assessment. The part was very expensive but I could get it for $80 cheaper because I have a parts account #. After hearing that he said, he would charge me the $80 more on labour because he makes money on the part. Instead of charging $180 for a 2 hr estimated repair call, he would charge $240 and he wouldn't have to do any running around to pick up the part. My dishwasher had been leaking and the upper level needed new rollers as it was not properly aligned, I was told that this caused the leak. I was also told that residue in the dishwasher was causing the motor to struggle so he recommended a full clean which he did. After the visit the dishwasher continued to leak so I called the company back. They spoke with the tech who said it is leaking because I am not cleaning the dishes prior to placing them in the washer. I explained that this was not what he diagnosed when he came out and that I was charged a significant sum to clean the dishwasher and it had continued to leak. The lady I spoke with would not acknowledge that I had been told differently by the tech and said that the best they could do would be to send a tech out but if any residue was found I would be charged for the call. She would not acknowledge that although it had supposedly been cleaned and serviced it was still leaking or that the technician had given me a different diagnosis. I chose not to have them come back out as I no longer could trust what I was being told and charged for. Very disappointing experience with very poor customer service and certainly not willing to try and make the customer happy. Please be very cautious when using this company, I may have just been unlucky?!

I am submitting this complaint due to a highly unprofessional and unacceptable experience with Young's Appliance regarding a scheduled refrigerator service appointment. Young's Appliance, in partnership with KitchenAid, was scheduled to attend my home & I took a full day off work so I could be at home during the agreed service window. I received a call from Young's Appliance informing me that they would not be attending at all that day mid day [at 10:45 am] on the same day. Just called and said they weren't coming, would have to do it another day. Significant disruption, including wasted time and lost income for the day. Tons of documented same experiences online by others. Followed up and requested a call from a manager to address the situation, I received a written reply claiming that I had been "yelling and swearing" at one of their employees--an allegation that is completely false. At no point did I raise my voice or speak disrespectfully, I did ask them to be accountable and attend today - 100%. I asked for accountability, and said this issue was their problem to fix, not my problem to solve. This accusation feels like an attempt to deflect responsibility for their own service failures, and inability to conduct business professionally. I can't understand for the life of me how they represent Whirpool/Kitchenaid products in the Ottawa area. Because of their unreliability and unwillingness to handle the situation professionally, I have been forced to schedule service elsewhere - lots of great places. The one I normally deal with - is coming today [same day] about 2-3 hrs after I called them. Amazing - that is customer service and a well run business - I'm actually glad I had to call someone else in some way As a customer, I expect honesty, respect, and competence--none of which were demonstrated in this experience with Young's Appliance. Terrible company & experience from start to finish. - They notified me midway through the service window that they would not be attending at all. - When I requested managerial follow-up, I was met with a false and defamatory accusation rather than constructive help. - This behavior reflects poor customer service, poor communication, and a concerning lack of accountability.
