Jere was the most fantastic arranger and explained everything clearly and empathetically with me by email and phone. We just picked him up on Friday, June 19th. Tissues were ready, the certified certificates were done, a few extra photo copies, and most importantly we were out of there quickly. There was no need to linger. I utilized this company after the sudden loss of my granny. Jere, was who I interacted with from start to finish and she was an absolute godsend. She remained professional while empathizing with my needs as well as my complex family's needs. She listened to what was important and honored what my granny wanted. I will be forever grateful for that. Jere remained in constant communication with me via phone as well as email. I kid you not the first day I spoke to her I was on the phone with her from 9am until they closed and not once did she rush me or make me feel like I was inconveniencing her. At one point I found myself apologizing as I felt I was being needy and she said no, no, you guys are family and this phrase coming from a complete stranger at a time when I was so emotionally distraught meant so much and only speaks to how empathetic Jere is. This task (in planning) was extremely emotional for me as I loved my granny dearly but having Jere and this company handling things provided a small sense of peace for me knowing that my granny was being cared for even in death. We were fortunate to have had outstanding service and commitment in our time of need. We had a recent passing on a weekend it was surprising to find out that most cremation services were often closed. ABC Cremation was able to atleast provide weekend support and follow up with necessary steps on the next work day. In keeping with our religious practice, we wanted our loved one to be cremated and placed in a church setting and within a timely manner. ABC's rep Jere P. was supportive, communicative, friendly and reliable-- she was on the ball on paperwork that was necessary for related funeral services to accommodate our next steps e.g. cremation permit, death certificate, doctor signoff, etc. The value of their services is affordable compared to others and their product line of urns (as it is a cremation service) was much more wide and diverse. Wish I could give zero stars. ABC lied to me, didn't return calls, and forced me to resolve issues on my own. After several attempts to obtain a death certificate they continued to blame Placer County but when I contacted the county I was able to get it that day and they told me that it had been available to ABC for weeks. Thanks to the near criminal negligence of ABC my Mother lost her health insurance and had several delays in retirement benefits that caused her considerable problems. ABC is not just an embarrassment to that industry but they illustrate a complete lack of compassion and professionalism and in a business where compassion and honesty are at the core of what is expected they show complete lack of both. read more

This time everything went great, with the exception of my calls being returned. I left a message 3 times with no call back. I do understand that everyone is short staffed, but I would at least have appreciated a call back within 3 days. So I filled out the questionnaire and and went to the business in the morning to follow up. We hashed out everything and they showed my mother-in-law a lot of respect. Unfortunately, our family trusted this company to take care of my Dad's cremation which included the much needed Death Certificates. Their communication and professionalism is terrible. They continuously blamed Placer County for the delay of our family not receiving the Death Certificates when actually their office staff dropped the ball, which they later admitted this. Due to the delay my Mom lost her benefits from the Federal Government, including healthcare. We also repeatedly had to call to see what the status of my Dad's ashes were so we could have them in our possession. The owner will not return my call, as well. No family should have to go through this. I highly recommend NOT using this company and I asked Sutter Hospice to remove them from the distribution list. read more

He passed away at the VA Mather Hospital. He had not made any funeral plans. The VA partners with Woodland Funeral Home but my deceased was taken to ABC. I prefer face to face over phone calls so we drove over there to have conversation about options. My brother & I would meet with Trish. She was/is a kind-hearted, well intentioned and hard working angel. Never did I expect the comfort she provided. Communication was excellent. Being is that I have never handled this kind of situation before to deal with a cremation situation I will say that I would Not recommend this place. It has taken 3 weeks to cremate and provide the death certificate when I was told they would be 7 to 10 days. They blame other people for the delay which I have not been able to support by contacting those persons. It is very unusual I have been told for this to take so long. And then they made it sound like they're doing me a favor by reworking their schedule to cremate my mom 3 weeks later. I sit hear not wanting to give this place any stars, my cousin passed and the majority of her family lives in another part of California, yet we entrusted this place with our loved one. When my family arrived in town to view her before the cremation they were told that they needed to pay a 200$ dollar fee. We all understand that it takes time and effort to prepare a body for viewing however my family are all in the medical field and did NOT require that service. In the past other mortuaries would allow the family to prepare the body themselves to save cost however ABC decided to basically hold my family hostage for 200$. It was the final word pay 200$ to see her. My family is heart broken and grief stricken over her sudden passing and not being local to only have the one place we entrusted with her now hold us hostage.
