Change the address to the correct one. Manning is the actual crematory and not the funeral home.

I had a very unpleasant experience with another entity that had picked her up. I called and spoke with Jessica. She was very reassuring and put me at ease from our first conversation. She gave me detailed information of how much it would cost to get mom's body released from the other entity, and she did it swiftly. She was responsible, dedicated, supportive, understanding, delightful, caring, and very kind. I was so unsure of how to handle everything. She was so very helpful and sweet no matter how many times I called. She never made me feel like I was a burden or worried her too much. She paid attention to every detail of my mom service. She noticed that my mom had on nail polish that was chipped! She called to ask if it was okay to polish over her nails. I'm extremely happy and overjoyed with the way Jessica and her staff handled our family. I highly recommend using this company if you have a loved one that has transitioned.

At that time, they were very professional, supportive, and efficient. They treated me with kindness and respect when I really needed it. I wasn't in a good place to write a review back then, but now that some time has passed and I'm feeling a bit clearer, I've started the process of moving my husband's ashes into a proper urn and planning for his burial. I reached out to Simple Traditions again to assist with transferring his remains. They not only helped with the transfer but also updated the burial permit for me and guided me on how to obtain his veteran flag. Once again, I was met with warmth and courtesy. Cherie, who assisted me, was knowledgeable and very helpful, guiding me on what steps to take next. She represents the company well. I wholeheartedly recommend Simple Traditions to my family, friends, and anyone else who may need their services.

My father died on June 11, and we were told we would get his ashes and his death certificate within 7-10 days. After 7 days, my mother called and the woman on the phone was very rude and said she would call when they were ready. After 10 days, my mother called back. The woman on the phone said that the hospital made a mistake and so they didn't have the death certificate yet. My mom started calling daily and each day she would get a different story as to why the death certificate hadn't been registered and why my dad's ashes weren't ready. On July 3rd, my brother went in person to ask, and someone showed him the computer screen and said everything would be ready on Monday, the 7th. When my mom called on Monday, there was a whole new story as to why the death certificate and my dad's ashes weren't ready. At this point, I called and informed them that we would be transferring my dad and that we were going to need a refund. We had my dad transferred that day. Then a few days later, my mom called to confirm the refund check was ready before she drove over there to pick it up. My mom was transferred to a different woman (who identified herself as a manager), who started yelling at my mother as soon as she picked up the phone (thinking it was me on the phone). When my mom went to pick of the check, the woman scoffed as my mom walked out. The lies and the rude treatment from the staff here was unacceptable. They have made a very painful process even more painful. Do not trust them with your loved one.

A day or two before the service they they opened an online obituary portal at their home page that allowed folks to leave well-wishes online. The comments are vetted before being published (authorization completed by the family of the deceased). The day of service was extremely hard, but the funeral home was absolutely professional and there was not oddities to report. The location of the funeral home was reasonable to get to--parking limited, but manageable. It was a hot day, but they had the air conditioning set to a chill level (making sense for open caskets). I don't mean to sound clinical about this review, especially when so much emotion can go into why you are there, but in the end. The funeral home was clean, provided for everybody that came to pay their respects. Prior to the service they cycled photos and/ or video reflecting memories of my friend and his family that survived him. I can't address pricing, but I heard the average cost of a funeral can easily run around 15K, and the lavatory I don't know because I didn't use it. The initial room where you first walk in is furnished nicely and to be honest it was a good area to take little ones that aren't able to sit long during the service. The area allows you to still hear what's going, limits the noise the main hall hears, and keeps you out of immediate line of sight. Anyway, if you have to use services like this, North Sacramento Funeral Home is professional and does it correct.

We went back and forth so many times about the online obituary, and it still isn't right. I asked for the correct link to the site so that I could share it with family and friends, and I still have not received a response from her. Her "bedside manner," for lack of a better term, leaves much to be desired. I didn't want to write this review before I had my loved one's remains in my possession, for fear of retaliation, ashes belonging to someone other than my mother, heck, I'm not even sure at this point if the ashes are in fact hers... I guess the upside is I purchased the service years ago for considerably less than what it would cost now, but then again, maybe this is a case of "you get what you pay for". An additional upside is that I will not have to deal with her again; whoever is tasked with my death, they might have to. The Neptune Society as a whole was friendly, professional, and sympathetic when my mother died, and I contacted them. There was a bit of confusion at the beginning. I received several calls after I had already made arrangements with one of the representatives. But after that, it seemed OK. I picked up my mother's remains today. Thankfully, I was able to do that without meeting with Carson. I don't plan to recommend the Neptune Society to anyone; it's disappointing and regrettable that this was the service I chose for my mother and me.

It was a pretty smooth process and prior to moms passing we were able to go over all the pricing details with no pushy sales. It was straightforward. The only thing I was frustrated with and why I gave 4 stars was I felt they needed to speak directly with me. I had a family member being overzealous at the time . I was my mothers only child who was solely financially responsible for the entire process and had to speak up and tell the business "I don't want too many people's hands in the cookie jar" I told them they need to only let me make decisions and not family members just give a call here and there makings decisions, especially if they were not paying for anything. I needed to put boundaries on that. They listened. But I wish they would have done that from the very beginning. Other than that they were helpful and made things practically seamless. They have prices for all budgets too.

During such a sensitive and emotional time, her behavior was incredibly unprofessional and lacked basic compassion. She was impatient, dismissive, and even rolled her eyes while we were performing a cultural ritual to honor and say goodbye to our grandmother. We were delayed about 20 minutes because a few family members took a wrong turn, but during that time, we could have been given the opportunity to spend meaningful final moments with our loved one. Instead, that opportunity was taken from us. When we were finally allowed to view our grandmother, we were given only a few seconds, barely enough time to process the moment, while Lizzy counted down with her fingers. It felt rushed, cold, and deeply disrespectful. She then left immediately afterward, offering no support or understanding. This is a beautiful graveyard where our family members are laid to rest, and in the past, we've had directors who were kind, patient, and accommodating. That is why this experience was especially shocking. No grieving family should be treated with such insensitivity. I truly hope no one else has to go through what we experienced.
